This is one of the most common conversations we have with Texas lakefront home buyers. My answer to this question is that I can find you 10 people on each one of the 14 lakes and rivers we service that will say their lake/river is the best and that you shouldn’t consider any others. Because really - it entirely depends on what you are looking for in a lake.
For example, if you're looking for a very tranquil setting, with little boat traffic, even though you hear about how great Lake McQueeney is, it probably won't be the best fit for you. It's a GREAT lake, but it is nearly completely developed and does have quite a bit of boat traffic due to it being the water ski capital of Texas.
