Just got done two hours ago checking out the dyrt and trip wizard. Then I saw this on the tube. you gave a great class on it. I had you at 1.5 speed , so you were talking fast!! went back to normal speed on the pos and con's'. Thanks for the information.

Great vid - thanks. Will definitely use them once back on the road. Hit a piece of metal in FL on I-75, punctured my diesel tank and drained out 40 gals 😫, took 11 days to get a fuel tank replaced and Walmart was so kind to let me drop my 5th wheel on their property (Oxford, FL), 11 nights in a hotel w/wife & 2 dogs. Got back on the road & next day brake/turn signals did not work on trailer. Repairman found the grounding wire became disconnected somewhere towards the rear, added a new grounding wire and now back on the road. Glad HE doesn’t give us more than we can handle! Love the videos you both produce. Semper Fi!

Thank you for the time you spent to do a really great side by side demonstration and comparison. I still a newbie and haven't figured out my camping style yet. The go go go is too fast paced. I tried making reservations ahead but either am exhausting myself toget there before they close or wishing I could stay longer. Now everything is booked so im forced to boondock. Looks like I could use both of them.

Thanks for the comparison! Your review was quick and easy to understand. I am a RV Trip Wizard user and LOVE being able to download my trip to my Garmin. Since I already have my RV stats loaded into my Garmin- it routes me perfectly. Great evaluation! We have used RV Trip Wizard ever since we watched your earlier video. We have now planned and taken several trips with great success. RVT does have a filter for dumps but only at truck stops like Petro, Loves etc. The best app for this is Allstays or you can look on www.sanidumps.com/

Cannot comment on Dyrt but huge pro for RVTW is customer service. I have had numerous contacts after hours and weekends with RVTW staff with very quick responses. Greatly impressed.

Can you plan on the iPad or iPhone? The answer - a limited yes. RVTW is a web application and is much easier to use on a PC or laptop. RVTW is very 'click' orientated and is MUCH easier to use with a real mouse. Touch screen device are a real PITA to use RVTW web app. I've tried using RVTW on an iPad, Samsung tablet, iPhone and Android phone. Save yourself some grief and use a PC or laptop. There is a 'Drag Route' feature that is almost impossible to use with a touch screen device.

Yes, absolutely but only on RV Trip Wizard. The Dyrt only downloads to google.

Yes, twice the RV SAFE GPS directions have put on roads we shouldn’t have been on. Low bridge height, even though we had our height in the filter. Also, took down the wrong road

I've not tried The Dyrt yet, but did a deep dive into RV Trip Wizard for our trip in April. It worked well but I wish they'd integrate with Harvest Host. Contacted them to see why they don't. Harvest Host needs to give them access. Maybe someday. Will be planning our fall trip soon so may try The Dyrt again but we won't be bookdocking so it may not be worth the membership. I also use AAA Triptics because we have them for roadside assistance. I like to have a physical map too so get those from them before trip. While I like to do as much on-line as possible, it is nice to have old school back ups for when WIFI is an issue. As always, thanks for the info. I found RV Trip Wizard because of your channel.

Stacey, just put our big trip to Glacier NP next year into Trip Wizard and it was so easy thanks to your video! My only question is this: is there a way to enter a gas stop and adjust the refuel warning within the route, in other words to see when the next fuel warning is? I must have missed it! Thanks so much for doing the homework on this app, it was extremely helpful!

Good question! Sorry I dont have the answer. I have not used this feature because I usually plan our fuel based on our fuel savings card.

That's weird, no one else has notified us that it is wrong. We checked it on our end and it is for 90 days. Contact the DYRT and see what they can do to to make it 90 days.

We loved RVTW at first but one thing we wanted to use it for was RV GPS, it led us down to a dirt road where we almost got stuck in the mud. So we immediately cancelled and bought a RV Garmin, 100% worth every penny!

This was very helpful! Like you, we don’t like to plan ahead for where to stay. We are finding it difficult to find places now as so many are full so far in advance 😔 How do you work around that? We are in 2016 34PA with toad. Love you two and have learned a lot from your experience!

I usually have two or three places in mind for our next stop and I call them. If the first one is booked, I call the second one and so on. There is always a Cracker Barrell, Walmart, or somewhere else if they fall through. Just be sure to always go in and ask a manager if it is okay to stay overnight if you end up in a Walmart or other place. And perhaps purchase supplies from that business as a way to say thank you.

Heard Phil mention removing BUGS from your RV. Just wanted to pass on tip my wife (Denise) found for removing Dried on Bugs from your RV . Just wet a Bounce Dryer sheet and wipe them off like you do your kitchen counter. Hope this helps!

Ty for the video! Can I please ask you a couple questions. 1st) Do these apps really keep you from getting in tight spots. I pull a 23 foot camper and would hate to get in a tight spot. 2nd) . And does the gps really work in real time., any delay could cause allot of trouble.

Yes they do. But please know every GPS will get it wrong once in a while even the truckers complain occasionally. The GPS is in real time. Make a wrong turn and it will adjust your route.

Excellent comparison! Can you download from both to import to the Garmin RV GPS?

RVT will download to Garmin but The Dyrt will not. But I have not used this feature.

Even though we're in Canada and it is missing some info, I love the entire suite. Planning is simple you can add any addresses and then move them to the right place, changing things around is awesome. RV Maintenance is also very interesting. (Phil's worksheet is great too ;-) Where was Phil :-)

Question about trip wizard. Under the parks tab on the right side each RV park shows a distance. Distance from what? It’s definitely not the distance from where I am. For the life of me I can’t figure it out.

Is it possible to import the RV Trip Wizard routing data into a Garmin GPS? I prefer to let the Garmin do routing so I have my phone free for other things.
