Okay but unironically doing something like that with ores would be interesting. Like similar to the frog-lights where you could convert the ores to some other kind of block or material
I could barely play Minecraft, it was too hard. Then that faithful day, when Notch added Sniffers. I could finally play Minecraft without dying even to villagers, with the help of a sentient race of Sniffers I can survive.
You forgot about the beeniffer It usually tries to sniff beehives or beenests in an attempt to collect some honey or wax. Because of this, it is usually extremely slow and sticky (I don't recommend to come close to it)
have you heard about that one new snapshot they released? you should definitely give it a try, because they added a bunch of new sniffers, such as: fire sniffer: spawns in mesas and sometimes in nether, immune to fire and lava, and drops chainmail armor when killed upside down sniffer: this sniffer naturally generated with "Dinnerbone" name tag, so it sniffs air instead of the ground, making it entirely pointless. killing it drops 20 stacks of diamond blocks but thats not really much. acacia sniffer: spawns in savannah, and sniffs acacia trees. just like acacia wood, this sniffer is crucial for any kind of run, because it can kill ender dragon in just one hit sponge sniffer: this sniffer is made of sponges, making all water around him disappear. he naturally hunts down water sniffers and drops a sponge when killed, which used to be obitainable only in ocean monuments waxed lightly weathered cut copper sniffer: as the name implies, this sniffer is waxed, lightly weathered, and cut. it's also made of copper, which is why it sniffs copper and drops copper blocks when killed, which as, as we all know, an extremely important resource in any run. you can also tame him with a copper ingot and he will start searching for copper ore, so he can help you a ton when mining sniffer sniffer: instead of sniffing seeds, this sniffer searches for other sniffers. as you know, sniffers can be very useful sometimes, dropping end game loot or helping you with a lot of stuff, so this sniffer can help you locate all of them. most of the time he leads you to regular sniffers though, so its better to use the seeker sniffer when searching for a certain type of a sniffer. but still, he's a good option for early game villager sniffer: this sniffer spawns in villages and is dressed like a villager. you can interact with him to trade. he sells the eggs of all kinds of sniffers, but instead of emeralds, he accepts copper and lapis lazuli as payment ender sniffer: this sniffer can be hatched out of the ender dragon's egg and can help you look for ender plants, such as chorus and, uhhh.. well.. and much more. it spawns 500 ender dragons when killed wood sniffer: this sniffer can help you locate various type of wood. just feed him a wood of any kind, and he will go towards the biome with respective wood type. this sniffer, as you guessed, is a huge help when it comes to searching for savannah biomes for acacia wood. it also works with nether wood types killer sniffer: this sniffer can be spawned only by using console commands, and as hostile to players, running very fast and dealing 8 hearts of damage. blue sniffer: this sniffer spawns in the nether and is a natural enemy of red sniffers. he is friendly to the player and will occasionally drop them useful items, such as diamonds or lapis spider sniffer: the behavior of this sniffer is similar to spiders, he is hostile to players and will jump towards them when attacking, just like a spider. he can also climb walls and he attacks all the other kinds of sniffers. he has a lot of health but drops a stack of string when killed by a player witch sniffer: this sniffer can sometimes be found in swamps, near witches shacks. he is hostile to the player and when he punches a player it causes them to drop a random potion or a potion ingredient they have in their inventory. if the player doesn't retrieve their dropped item, the sniffer will steal it. if it picks up a potion with a positive effect, it will also drink it, and if the potion has s negative effect, he will throw it at the player. this makes it kinda tough to fight against this sniffer. killing him drops up to 4 witch spawn eggs sky sniffer: this sniffer can be found in any biome, flying in the skies. it can be tamed with ancient seeds or with phantom membranes, and, when tamed, it will follow the player by flying above them in the sky. he will also fight off any phantoms that try to perch down on the player and also one more sniffer, the seeker sniffer: kind of similar to sniffer sniffer, also seaching other sniffers, but, instead of looking randomly, you can select which sniffer to look for. if you give him a sniffer egg and an item, he will search for the respective sniffer. for example, giving him a sponge will make him search for sponge sniffers, giving him wood will make him search for wood sniffers, if you give him emerald, he will look for villager sniffers, if you give him chorus fruit he will lead you towards an ender sniffer, and so on. overall yeah, it seems like quite the nice snapshot and, from what mojang says, is just a small part of the next huge 1.22 version, "The Sniffer Update"
the lore is getting insane. also so fucking stoked about the sniffer farm coming back (also panda sniffer is worthless it goes in sea tier at best so f*ck you) RIP BlueYoshiX
