In this video, we are going to test what is the best Tier 1 Unit in Homm 3 based on Cost efficiency. We will compare different units in a tournament format. As a result we will have the best tier 1 unit in Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
This video is the second of two parts containing the tournament. In this video, there are quarterfinals, semifinals, and the finals of the tournament.
The participants include the 16 tier 1 units from castle, rampart, tower, inferno, dungeon, necropolis, fortress, and fortress factions.
Tournament rules are:
- Unit amount: - How many units of the type can be purchased with 1.000.000 gold
- Units are divided into four stacks of equal size
- AI controls the both armies
- The primary skills of the heroes are minimized
- None of the heroes have secondary skills
- Heroes cannot use spells
- The initial match-ups are decided by RNG
- The units included: The units from the main game
(There might be a smaller tournament with expansion units & neutral units later, including top 2-4 of this tournament.

Master gremlins are sometimes very underestimated by people, when in reality you can get a very numerous and cheap powerstack early on. They are especially good while paired with Master genies

I don't think anyone has ever underestimated Master Gremlins, atleast I've never saw anyone do that, they always say it's either 2nd or 1st best Tier 1.

Ehh, they are good early on but terrible later. Whereas Centaurs are good early and still somewhat relevant later. The master gremlin does fill a role that centaurs cannot, but centaurs have grand elves to fill a similar role yet better. 1. Skeletons (atleast for longer games) 2. Centaur captain 3. Sprite or Master gremlin (Both do exellent early but die too fast later) 4. Master gremlin or sprite 5-9. The rest of tier 1

Thank you. I absolutely recommend this! It is quite cheap at GOG, and offers fun for even hundreds of hours. - Graphics are relatively good even after about 25 years - It is easy to learn but difficult to master - The hot-seat multiplayer is one of the best in my experience. One of my favorite games :)

Peasants are the best tier 1 unit. Nothing will stop the peasant rebellion (except for a fellow Necromancer of course)

Haha Indeed. I have planned to make their own mini tournament of conflux and neutral tier 1 units and pit the winnder against Master Gremlins. The peasants, being so cheap might be really good. Thanks for the comment :)

Thanks for the comment. I agree that this first round was a bit training (including luck and morale). Perhaps I will redo it after I have done other tier units first. Thank you for the suggestion. And agreed MG vs CC would be interesting :)

Centaurs might actually be able to beat master Gremlin, but would lose to most.

centaurs vs goblin fight was quite unfair because goblins were on home terrain making them equal speed when usually centaurs are faster

Thanks for the heads-up. Indeed they did, my bad here. I tested GMs vs Pikemen and they got wrecked with about 9000 pikes remaining. So the top positions were not affected. :)
