My best friends tabby cat was such a plump boy, and he always nudged at my legs and feet when I was sitting down to give him belly rubs with my toes! RIP Crybaby 😿
I'm a dog owner, but an abyssinian cat from a studio I go to seems to have taken a liking to me, always kneading me and butting his head against me and even sitting on me while I'm trying to stretch xD Trying to give him the best experience. Vid was very helpful.
So cute! My cat loves being pet basically everywhere, but if you pet his tummy too much he sometimes gets playful and you have to stop or he will grab with his paws. If you pay attention to his tail movements you can tell when he has had enough.

My cat never comes to cuddle, but he has fixed rituals where and when he can be stroked, for example on the washing machine after a shower. And then he is so relaxed that he often falls asleep.

I am still in the kitten stage haha and Ocean who I have had for 3 weeks now, does allow some petting after having to reinforce it with treats and after play.It seems like something i had to work up to and wondered if it was a similar experience for you. Zen, who i just got today is still yet to emerge haha.
Hey good question! What you are doing is good! I had a similar experience. I had to establish trust with my cats first and associate petting with positive things like treats. How do you normally feed your cat? Do you feed meal by meal? I recognized that the cats understanding it was me feeding them also helped build that trust and bond.
Another thing to note is when you should stop petting. If the cat is getting tense, flicking their tail or pushing their ears backwards, they might be telling you to stop. If you don't, they'll likely scratch or bite.
I've had my kitten for about 5 weeks now, which is half his age. He's an orange tabby and I pet his paws and massage them, I heard it makes clipping easier if you do it while their babies. He also bites when I pet him unless he's going to sleep. Even though I think teething has something to do with his bites (just gentle "stop touching me bites) I also wondered if I even pet him correctly. So thank you for the cuddle guide
my kitten often rolls exposing her belly or sleeps like that, often when i pet her there she will bite me gently and grab my hand with her paws, occasionally push it away with her back paws gently. but at the same time she is constantly purring. I'm unsure what these mixed signals mean? sometimes I go in for a bit of belly touching because its irresisatble but I try not to over do it. do you think she prefers her belly not to be touched?
I'm lucky enough for mostly all 3 of my cats who allow me to rub their bellies and perform the motorboat. One of them, the male one, always invites me to do so when we're both in the bed and he sleeps be my side. He'll always turn to his side as if to say, "go ahead hooman, satisfy that urge now"

As u said Arya dislikes touching her paws, how u manage to trim her claws then ? My cat dislikes touching paws as well so i struggle to trim her claws. Can do it only partialy at once as she is resting. Being on laps while doing it is a big NO for her xD

Hey depends on how severe the allergies are. I probably had medium allergies where I had trouble breathing, watery eyes and would get lots of rashes. The first thing that helped me a lot was having air purifiers. They sucked all the floating hair in the air and my breathing became normal. My eyes were not watery anymore. Second I keep my bedroom cats free so I have a safe space with no allergies to worry about. Third being on top of cleaning the house of all their hair with a HEPA vacuum. Those were the steps I took. My rashes I think my body got use to it and disappeared. You can also take treatment if you are very allergic. Hope that helps!
I mother has gotten a cat like a year ago and I’ve been petting him regularly but when he smells my hand then bit should I move it away or let him bite/nibble on it as I have a bit of trouble he does like to be alone sometimes which I do try do you have any tips that can help me figure out?
Hey what a timely question. I am actually making a video on this after the next video I make. usually when he bites softly its him telling you he needs some space. it can also be a love bite depending on the situation. I think a video would do a better job at explaining
@@TheCatButler hey it’s been a while but ever since today I started to train my cat cause it bites alot but I just started to train him with petting and what I’m seeing is he is starting to get closer rubbing his head against my hand and I’ve just started like an hour ago just rubbing him and useing a pen as a clicker and telling him great job when he don’t bite or get scared of my hand unexpectedly but I move my hand slow if he can’t see me so it does not feel afraid but for the week I will just start to train him more on petting because he’s more like a family cat. But one of my cousins that came over keeps putting his face in the cats (Salem) face makeing it run away. PS I reward him with treats. But I feel like my cousin could ruin it makeing him scared
