Get these yoyos here: gentrystein.com/collections/s... What is the best yoyo? Check out my review and guide of all the Gentry Stein Signature yoyos. From beginner responsive to pro unresponsive.
I'm ready for a metal yoyo I already have experience with unresponsive play so I hope to have better results with a metal yoyo so this guide really helped
I was into yoyoing when I was in High School. Its been more than a decade. Now, I am having full time desk job and sometimes I feel like start yoyoing hobby again, to freshen my mind and get out of the computer.
Came back to this video to see a guide, I ordered lube and string but along with that I ordered the pack with a case, Godspeed and DNA. Can't wait for it to arrive so I can upgrade my play. Also I currently have an Arrow and it is amazing because it's easy to learn DNA but still can do flashy tricks! Amazing guide as expected!
I bought a shutter about a year ago and i still have it it works well, and it is the red color and i can STILL do shutter grinds with it! you should make a youtube short that shows you doing shutter grinds it would be really awesome.
Gentry i have been watching your videos for ever since i have even been yoyoing (2 years) and you seeing that i am there and watching you, just changed something inside me. thank you so much!!!!
Awesome video dude, till today I only new Duncan yoyos. But after watching your video I definitely want a better yoyo, not hating on Duncan, but you know what I mean. I know it's a personal preference and I don't want an unresponsive yoyo, so out of this video witch one as an all around yoyo do you recommend me. Thanks
I want to know if there is a yoyo that's good at DNA and Godspeed, can change from unresponsive to responsive bearing, and it's also made out of metal (basically a perfect yoyo). I was looking for the Yoyo on the internet but can't find it. Thanks in advance.
hi im upgrading from a one to the replay pro is that a good upgrade? AND do u think that the fire marble colur is cool BTW i love ur best yoyo vids so keep it up PS u motavates me alot so keep it up
@@Gentrystein it comes tomorrow, but I'm so looking forward to feeling the flow of it. I actually brought the black and gold colorway that you showed in the video.
i own a regular shutter for a year from now and since then i think it's an amazing yoyo keep making yoyo stuff gentry, you inspire me a lot ;D ps. also do you have a tutorial on the eli hops (the ones that go front and back of your head)? those are siiiick dude
@@bleepblo yeah i think so too now because I got the godspeed yoyo and whenever i try to do the dna my hands feel like they have too much friction and the yoyo stops spinning
My mom said I could get a new yoyo if I got every thing done tonight, so when she gets back home I'm ordering the shutter wide angle and it is my first metal yoyo but i really want the wide angle one so sorry about that gentry i know you suggested the shutter but I want the wide angle, any way super excited so love ya gentry stein gonna stay up to date with your videos and hope to get better!
Hey gentry… I was a consistent yo-yo player for a while until I Tore a muscle in my thumb and developed carpal tonal a few months after that… I just started to get back into in the hopes of competing one day… what is the best yo-yo I can use for all around… finger spins, horizontal play, and just complicated tricks? Thanks in advance.
It sounds like Shutter is what you’re looking for. It will be best for complicated tricks and horizontal play. That being said, if you want a yoyo for finger spins, definitely the DNA. All available at gentrystein.com :)
@Gentry Stein I’m thinking of getting an arrow soon and then after that a metal yo-yo but I’m not sure what to get. I’ve been considering the DNA to improve on the DNA and regular tricks or the shutter wide angle because I have a hard time landing tricks but I can’t decide. What would you pick out of those two to get for your first?
I'm upgrading from a velocity to a shutter WA and wanted to ask you gentry, between the normal and wide, what shutter do you reccomend the most? I love your videos btw, got me yoyo-ing back again
Hey! You will love either the shutter or shutter wide angle. Usually I recommend getting the original shutter first, as it is all around amazing and more of a standard size. After getting a normal shutter, I recommend the wide angle as the next yoyo. :) hope that helps.
I have a metal yo-yo that doesn’t have a little spin kept my finger in like a little hole that’s circular. What is the little triangle in the middle circle in the middle it’s like where do you get those cool words like like the arrow like I was searching Google.
I've been wanting to buy a yo-yo for a long time, my options are the One and a Replay pro (it would be my first yo-yo) or I even buy both. What do you recommend to start with the yo-yo?
Hey gentry how’s it going. So my dad thinks my yoyo’s are really cool and since he’s really into cameras I showed him the shutter he thought it was very cool but he’s wondering why it looks like a camera aperture instead of a shutter. But besides that he and I really like the shutter yoyo.
@@Gentrystein also i wanted to ask sonthing, ive been on this unresponsive dna trick and i cant get it to like go into the position to put ur finger, ive been trying for 3 days and still cant get it, ive been watching ur how to dna vid and been using that hand tactic and still nothing, maybe might giving me some tips ?
hi, I bought my friend a spinstar yoyo for Christmas secret santa recently and it was too responsive (wouldn't sleep at all), we managed to make it work by loosening the yoyo a bit, but I am worried that it might open up and smack someone in the face, is there a way to adjust the yoyo safely? (I bought it from woolworths in australia)
Hey! Great to hear you picked up my spinster from Woolies. Make sure the string isn't too tight, and keep playing with the yoyo, it will break itself in with play. Also, its ok to loosen the yoyo a bit, but not too much.
I bought the arrow elite, but I don’t know if I would want to upgrade to the DNA or the master pack, which one would you recommend next?(also,is the metal cap of the DNA free spin or is it similar to the Arrow?)
I like both equally. Usually I suggest getting shutter first, then wide angle, but overall I think all players should eventually have both in their collection. Shutter is more standard size, and wide angle is quite a bit wider if you like that.
i haven't kept up with yoyoing in YEARS and I was looking to get in for fun. My question is why isn't the darkmagic2 listed? Atleast when i got into it it was the most popular
Yoyos have come a long way. At the $45 price point or below, you can get a DNA or a Shutter. Also, yoyojam closed shop years ago. Their yo-yos are still iconic though.
Hey gentry I got a replay pro some time ago and no matter what bearing I put on the yoyo just won't spin at all, if I sent it to you could you see what's wrong with it?
My first yoyo was the replay(beginner) then i moved on to the shutter, now it's quite worn out since i don't have any accessories, what yoyo should I buy ? or should a buy like a shutter trainer set or any pack since it comes a lot of accessories?
Boy! Yoyo's sure have changed. My favorite used to be a Duncan Butterfly wooden. Looks like everyone is using the butterfly shape though. What sites are the best for yoyo's these days?
Definitely try the new stuff, but also pick up something that's a more familiar shape (even the old school butterfly yoyos are considered to be "slimline" now). The 'new school' yo-yos all feel comically wide to me (though I'm slowly getting more used to them, something that fits in your pocket is always going to be my preference)... If you're looking for something nice, I think that something like a "YYF confusion (2022)" might be a good fit for an 'old school' thrower (though mine was quite a bit too responsive out of the box and I had to break in the pads by physically rubbing on them until they wore down a bit). However, even the beginner yoyos tend outperform a lot of the high end yo-yos that were popular during the '90s yoyo boom.
I know it’s not yoyofactory and if it goes against your contract with them it’s ok. But I would really like to see a review on the outlier 3. It’s ok if you can’t or don’t want to but it’s up to you
Steel Shutter is 100% stainless steel. It is more expensive and more difficult to manufacture. Size doesn't make much of a difference in terms of cost. Its still a premium yoyo. I recommend it for people who already have a Shutter, Shutter Wide Angle, DNA, ETC.
Hey Adrian! It depends if you already have a yoyo or not. If you don't have any yoyos, I would suggest the master pack as I designed this pack specifically for people getting into yoyoing. If you want just one yoyo, sounds like the arrow is the best option for you.
