What is the biggest contributor to the Mariners' slide? 

Best assessment of the Mariners I've heard from anyone. He mentions how Cal batting 6th is an ideal spot for him in the order. Sure enough when the season started that is where he was quite often because they thought they had a lineup where Garver,Haniger,and Polanco made sense to bat anywhere from 3-5 in the order. Instead Garver, Haniger and Polanco especially have been well below average, forcing Cal to bat 3rd. JP and Julio's struggles have only added to the offensive futility this year. Ownership is terrible as well.

Whoever's idea it was to give Garver a deal which paid him more money in 2 years than he earned his whole career needs to be fired immediately.

The biggest contributor is ownership, GM, manager and coaching staff as a whole organization. They are letting things slide and letting players fail. The organization knows that they have a great starting rotation. They also know that they can win in low scoring games. They literally let the offense look for home runs in order to win in these low scoring games. Jorge Planco is failing due to this organization. Jared Kelenic is succeeding with another uniform due to this organization. Julio is struggling due to this organization. They are not Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez, Edgar martinez and Jay Buhner. Even then, they had Lou Pinella and company to push things in the right direction. Placo, Julio, Raleigh, France, JP, Haniger, they all need help man. Mark my word. ------ I GUARANTEE THAT LOUIS ROBERT JR AND VLADIMIR GURRERO WILL IMMEDIATELY STRUGGLE AS SEATTLE MARINERS--------- Acquisition or not, they need to throw away everything that they have done until now and change the offensive philosophy entirely and completely. That's the bottom line.

Try top 2 farm system, top 12 is a big mischaracterization

I was curious about mention of the batters eye and strikeouts so I looked up the home/road splits. They are barely better at striking out on the road by 60 K's in 4 less road games. So really no difference much at all.
