Se trickster really sucks because you are judged heavily but you don’t even know that you are being judge, so you have constant anxiety about how you come across to others. Someone with Se trickster seeing a video of themselves is almost like torture because they are like “holy shit is that what I look like and sound like to other people”.

True. But at the same time, if you have people you can trust who are willing to communicate with you on when you´re being completely unaware, it can be quite manageable. Around the right people, the extroverted tricksters can be solved. I can´t imagine how frustrating it must be for Ti, Fi, Ni, &Si trickster though, because what you´re missing is internal.
@geraldmarcano2514
@geraldmarcano2514 3 года назад
@@dppool456 I would argue is equally frustrating for all the personalities. In my case I have Fe trickster, I am very unaware of social norms, even though this trickster is external think about how much people judge me in so many social encounters like not knowing when its the social accepted time to leave a party, I would just stay there chilling until the host makes it very clear he/she wants me to go. Lol

@@geraldmarcano2514 Fair enough, but I'd guess that's also related to Se inferior, rather than purely a trickster issue. That is, assuming you're INTJ rather than ISTJ. Regardless, my point was that the best kind of people can see other's blindspots and help them with it. But you can't really help somebody fill the void left by an introverted trickster. You can help someone not hurt others feelings (Fe) although it can be a lot of work, but you can't help them think more sequentially (Ti), because thoughts by definition are subjective to the individual. The same with Fi, Ni, and Si, nobody can really help people with that.

I have Se trickster, yet I play several sports and do various outdoor activities and I am completely engaged in those activities most of the times, I think that over time it has become easier for me to get out of my comfort zone, and challenge myself. It has surely helped me a lot in developing a good perception of my surroundings. But as a child, I never had any interest in any sports or anything involving physical interactions with others. Still, sometimes I get lost in my own thoughts and become completely unaware of my surroundings, which can be really annoying.

Oh geez, that Se-trickster part is so amusing, yet revealing. 😂 I'm constantly losing my sense of balance out of nowhere, I never notice when a guy likes me and is trying to hit on me, I'm never aware of how weird things seem that I say and how I come off to the world around me because all of that seems so normal to me. I never notice when I'm giving mixed signals to other people and I only get it when they tell me they don't get my intentions and my thoughts, although I thought to be clear enough so that they should be knowing all of it. I was even told that I don't have a filter for reality, which leaves others to be amused, fascinated, interested and confused at the same time, lol. Maybe that's why INFPs struggle with being "normal" and being understood by others. Like, how are others even supposed to understand us if we see ourselves, our actions and the world so differently than pretty much everybody else around us, isn't that somewhat delusional? But I bet that kind of behaviour must be hilarious to watch from the outside. 😅

Hey Chase, INFJ here. I appreciate your direct approach, haha. I'm aware of of my Te trickster for a long while now. I grew in a household of an ESTJ mother, and ISTJ and ESFP siblings. So I had a healthy appreciation for Te. Though, I struggled much with that. In the end, I learned to do the follow to help me with Te trickster. I usually look up the thoughts or theories I might come up with to see if others thought of them also and have anything to add to what I thought. Second, if I'm unsure of how others are thinking or what they meant I ask them directly to elaborate on what they said or thought. Third, I try to understand why others think the way they do and what led to it. Thanks for your lectures. Keep the good work up. Best regards!

It makes so much sense now! My family constantly accuses me of being oblivious, I’m always bumping into sh** and tripping on the stairs. I always have somewhat of an epiphany when I see myself in a video and think “wow, that’s what I look like?” As well as my constant distancing and disregard for reality. As an infp I’m almost tearing up at this point because I can actually say with confidence that there’s a reason why I have no concept of what is or how I come off to others. I often catch my family saying to me “you’re wearing that?” and I’m thinking “what’s wrong with this?” In school I also always doze off and don’t even realize it and then feel internal shame when I think about how I basically just wasted this person’s time and yet regardless of that I continue to consistently visit outlandish realities when I really should be working. You’re a real lifesaver CSJ! :)

The "I can want anything" was Ni trickster. Se trickster assumes/denies/doesn't even notice things that are happening or being said which leads to doing or saying something wildly inappropriate to reality. Or feel bad about something that didn't really happen. One of the reasons people dislike INTPs is that our Se trickster *teaches* (the hard way!) that things can happen that weren't expected, but then we come across as arrogant when we point out that their plans could fail on conceivable "edge cases" (Ti hero, Ne parent)

@@choco1199 I think that's if the critic function is hyper-critical. Then the INFP becomes HYPOCRITICAL. That's when i think we don't allow ourselves to want anything. But when someone like Chase points it out that we're being hypocrites, because we're looking around and seeing if others are being responsible with what they want. So when we're sitting around judging, and then we're being so critical of what we want ourselves, that we won't allow ourselves to want anything, then we're being irresponsible with what WE want, by wanting nothing. And wanting nothing, by our own standards at least, most of the time, is irresponsible. I remember because when Chase said that shit i jumped right up, and focused on what i wanted to do with my life, and I've been making insane amounts of progress since. That's a big part of the trickster function. According to Beebe, it is an "area of manipulation and paradox." It is "mischievous, creates double binds, and circumvents obstacles." So someone with Fi trickster, when trying to get out of something, make someone do something, avoid an accusation, or in any way manipulate, will attack that person's morals. Joseph here is doing just that--"you want to call me a bad person? Fine, I'll point out all of the ways *you* lack sympathy and an intrinsic understanding of right and wrong, by calling *me* an uncaring, bad person, or by calling ESFP's stupid, or whatever. Now who's the hypocrite?" Feisty, right? Feisty, I think, is a good adjective for the trickster function. Petulant, too. @@jennahumphrey1 I'm not the foremost expert, but here goes my answer.... Logic deals with a sequence of reasoning that builds off each other. You have to prove each step in the chain to arrive at a hard conclusion that can only be reached by how each step of reasoning carefully builds off the one before it. It's why logic should lead you to absolutely true answers, for certain things at least. Rational thinking is not always purely logical like this. Rational thinking is reasonable, it considers what seems logical, keyword seems. It considers what seems likely, but it doesn't need that clearly substantiated if x then y then z etc type chain of justification. This is why rational thinking is ultimately a set of likely or reasonable beliefs. They can thus appear logical, but they are not technically logical.

I mean, given the sufficient resources, barring all preconceived notions, even the 2 most incompatible people will prosper. Hence, I get super annoyed when people tell me that it is what it is. It always seemed so arbitrary. What do I have to gain by following the crowd? Friends? As it turns out, for some types, yes they do make friends that way. Once, in Boy Scouts, a group of scouts wanted to haze me as a ritual. I refused. Their leader looked me in the eye and threatened me with physical violence if I didn't accept. I looked him right back in the eye and said no... and they were so stunned I could do that I walked away without a single scratch.

@jacobwiren8142
@jacobwiren8142 3 года назад
@@whyumadblachallahuakbar34 Yes, actually, now that I think about it. My mother is an ENFJ. She and I are constantly getting into arguments and then immediately apologizing to each other. For decades I was baffled by this. After watching these lectures and doing some research I now understand why: She has Fe Hero, and I have Fi child. I have Te parent, and she has Ti inferior. This means that whenever she talks to me, her Fe connects with my Fi and I feel like a child. Also, whenever I talk to HER my Te connects with her Ti and she feels insecure and dumb. The result is that we are overwhelming each other because WE ARE TRYING TOO HARD TO HELP EACH OTHER. I'm trying to make her smarter by filling her mind with impartial observations and her Ti inferior isn't strong enough to absorb it all. Also she is trying to cater to my emotional needs, but my Fi child has very simple needs and feels spoiled. We are TOO HELPFUL towards each other. When I explained this to her, we both had a laugh. Now we understand to give each other space and the fights are much less frequent.

I had to laugh, because I soooo relate as an INTJ. My brother-in-law is the type who is always trying to pressure people into doing things he wants them to do, but when I entered the family, he ran up against an immovable object. If I don't want to do something, it's just "no." I was actually an influence on my husband's family to show them that they could actually tell him no and the world wouldn't come to an end.

I've Se trickster and my relationship with it is basically me having no idea about the kind of experience I give to others. Normally what will happen is that I use my Te to compensate that. That's normally what happens with my physical apperance. As I don't have any idea about what kind of impression I'm producing, I try to be as clean and neutral as I can, sometines in a exagerate way because I don't want to be judged by anybody, ever xD Now I understand too why some people (I think mainly Fe dom/aux) got annoyed with me because I did something (which wasn't wrong in my own moral system) and I didn't realise that they were actually pissed off. (That happened with an enfj who didn't tell me what was wrong until I asked her. She was expecting me to know and I've just NO idea that the problem was that xD) PS: I'm clumsy as fuck as well, which is quite funny.

I’m glad I found out that the trickster was a thing. I’m not saying it isn’t important to develop, but I tried to overuse it. Before I found out about type I was sub-consciously trying to mirror the ENTJ type (I’m INFJ). Needless to say that didn’t necessarily work out for me, it just made me look like a massive idiot anytime I would try to argue with people. In knowing what my strengths are (Ti) I know how I should argue my point to people, rather than trying to pull statistics out of my ass that I heard on a RU-vid video that didn’t actually take the time to research.

ENFP. I do think you are one of the best on youtube that I've found to explain the MBTI. Though, I dunno why ENTPs tend to rub me the wrong way, Haha : p. Still watch regularly :)...I identify with the statement that i believe anything can be true. You just need the right stats or perspective to support your argument. Psychology is definitely not in a state where we can confidently reject most null hypotheses. But I would not argue for just anything. I try to take into account the good/bad that any argument would cause for people. In my head I'm always arguing FOR people and never against. I make the assessment based on what I see the consequences of arguments to be. To me, logic does not matter if the argument will hurt others. Not that I want what I'm saying to be false, I just recognize the limits of logic and its potential to harm. Logic is not the end all be all. Honestly I think emotional harm should be considered just as much as logic when making decisions about social policy and research, which is my main interest...but you did say morality wasnt your type's strong suit so I get it I guess lol..I also value your genuineness I've got to say..I dont feel like I get to see that with ENTPs a whole lot..also liked the helping people with their blind spots bit. Very moral of you, intentional or not! Haha

Very insightful. Thanks a lot. 5 years ago I was losing my daughter to adoption. Since the law was involved, I had no idea what to do. After it was all said and done, I signed something. The paper basically said by signing this, you (me) acknowledge that this girl was never your child. She looks so much like me it's not even funny so for them to think it's true is laughable so they can believe what they want despite the contrary. I still feel the effects of that day. Why fight against something I felt I wouldn't win? Because of this, I take with me that small amount of time I got to be with her. I love and miss her deeply. Talk about humbling. It was then that I had a dream of me being pulled into the black hole that you mentioned and I saw the cube (the earth) below my feet, or lack thereof, let alone the aftermath of my upbringing coming back into the forefront along with it. Talk about a destructive process and one I'm still, to this day, doing my best to handle and heal from. Sorry to get so personal about it but I thought it best represents what I got from this video. At the very least, I thought it was worth sharing.

I LOVE the theme of this video on how people need to humble themselves, so we could become more of a cohesive team who compensate each others weaknesses and blindspots. We humans as a species really were designed by the Creator to be social creatures, introverts included. I enjoyed your take about the field of psychology, unraveling the wonders and complexity of the human mind which God created, then apply that knowledge in healthy, balanced, mature ways regarding relationships. These are vital for humanity to evolve while giving glory to God who made us and bring us closer to Him. You're also right about how it's best that people avoid looking down on other people due to their shortcomings, when the very same people who hold their targets with contempt are guilty of having shortcomings themselves. There's a passage in the scriptures where Jesus warned everybody about the foolishness of hypocrisy. He said if a person criticizes someone else who have plank on their eyes, one must first remove the plank on his eyes or her eyes, in order for the critic to be taken seriously as being trustworthy concerning his/her criticism and full of integrity with pure intent. Another verse in the Holy Bible relevant to your lesson of this video is Matthew 20:26-27. Jesus explains how to achieve greatness on God's future heavenly kingdom that will eventually supplant the currently imperfect sinful world that exists, a person should have humility at fostering an attitude to think and behave like servant towards other poeple. Jesus is a role model for humankind to follow, because not only did he preach timeless virtues, he exemplified them from the way he humbly lived and offered himself as a sacrifical lamb to purify us and remove our sins (character flaws, wrongdoings, transgressions, wickedness, immorality, injustices, corruption, etc), long as sinners accept his gracious gift of salvation and to abide in His teachings + divine guidance. ~Me, a Christian INTJ male who often makes an effort to be a humble servant for my fellow neighbor since we ought to love our neighbors like we love ourselves as Jesus had done and commanded, because God first loved us, and always will.

For situations with high value/risk transactions on the line also add 3) consider everything the other party may have to gain/lose in each scenario. - From an ISTP who’s dealt with social anxiety for all her 20’s (living in fear of what others think) and who was raised by an ISTP father who’s had many people take advantage of him and his business. In fact, at this point, I find New Age wuuwuu discussions (often espoused by NF's) intolerable. When I ask for evidence for their beliefs or show opposing evidence, they give this really disingenuine smile that seems to says, "You're just not as wise as me. How narrow of you to see things in such black and white categories." Honestly, acknowledging what is true and false in my life has made me a happier, more level-headed ENFP.
