So what is the cost of starting a moving business?
Today I discuss how much it will cost you to start a moving company.
As I mentioned in an earlier video (YOu can see it here: • Learn How To Start A H... ) to start a moving labor business it will actually cost you NOTHING to start your business.
However, to start a small moving business with trucks and equipment it will cost you about $10,000 to $20,000 to start a moving business.
And if you want to start a franchise it will cost you about $150,00 to $200K to start.
Now these are not hard and fast expenses. It what's I know based on my own personal experience. Be sure to research for yourself how much it will cost to start a moving business in your area.

I'm thinking of buying a 16 ft truck. I want to get more into moving things for companies . but also moving people on spare time. I'm just not sure if it a smart move

I can't answer you on whther or not it's a smart move. BUt I will say this, if you buy a truck I would try to make it a 26ft truck.

could 7 by 24 ft enclosed trailers work for moving with a gmc 3500 because I already have that

It could, but most likely on large moves, you'll be making more than one trip which will add time to the bill and this may not be conducive to your customers. Also, if you have people that can't drive such a rig could also be a problem.

I am starting a moving business in the phase2 section, i was wondering what the net is per truck, if 2 trucks are making $300k gross, what is the take home? Thank you for all of your great content

300k a year is just a number its not a average. You can make far more or far less with one truck depends on jobs and number of guys on the jobs and is they're packing materials involved are you hauling outta state or across town? I've had 20 plus k weeks per truck but most of the other guys struggle to break 5 k a week with 3 mean running a 26ft 6 days a week.

Profit comes from doing packing jobs I call it turn key service I go in pack everything while they're on vacation and move I to they're new home and in pack everything and put it all away even make the new beds. But this would be a 13,000 to 20,0000 single move that takes around 3 days with 6 guys

Seems I can't find any info on how to start a long distance (across the country) type of moving business. I work in such company for a year as a foreman driver on a straight 26footer. Our company also has about 8 semi trailers running all the time, and 4 packing crews like mine. Boss opened that company about 3 years ago with couple trucks or so as I heard and ofcourse he is not going to share what to do and how to start own thing. Does anyone have any idea on how should I plan this or at least start doing the right thing towards it.

Take is dependent on your overhead. But I will say this; the top companies working with 10 or more trucks are netting around 10 to 20%.

Post on Craigslist when you get a customer,rent a truck and equipment then you’re good to go brother! Charge the customer the expenses of your renting equipment then add your service. Let’s say you rented all the equipments and truck from uhaul for 150$ you charge the people based on their house let’s say one bedroom apt 700$ ,2 bedrooms 1200$ , 3 bedrooms 1800$ etc you pay for your rented equipments and you pay for the person whose helping you a flat price let’s say 200$ so you can keep for yourself 700$ that’s how it works. But please note that pay the person whose helping you a flat price let’s say he worked 6 hours 8 hours or 10 hours you give him 200$ or 250$ “Just saying” you can negotiate with your partner

Can we do business and just rent uhauls and get cargo insurnace?

It's nearly impossible to to get insurance for your moving company renting U-Hauls. I explain this in my eBook Whosellsmovinginsurance.com. Without a long term lease or owning a truck it is nigh impossible to ever get moving insurance of any kind for your moving company. Not in less you know my work arounds.
