Something very interesting is the fact that Sucrose says the point of her own experiments is to create a wonderland/fairytale of some sort? She even says she still believes in fairytales
what if the dandelion sea is on a different realm of existence or is hidden by powerful magic and sucrose cant find her way home? maybe thats why she wants to create a wonderland, maybe she wants to see something like the dandelion sea once again
@@alexblack4048 actually from what I recall, she wants to make a wonderland cause of her friends that she lost that wanted to create a wonderland with her but they were never seen anymore, therefore sucrose started to work on alchemy to possibly make a wonderland her and her friends had hoped for, anemo characters losing their friends and close ones seems like a trend
Huh, I’d always assumed Sucrose was in the same boat as Diona’s family. Never considered she might be a Dandelion Kitsune (which I had already deduced was a thing as soon as I saw Tokyo Alleys). Very interesting.
@@palukz good point about the bones but we already have an example of dog ears on Gorou. It is still not close. Sucrose's are pointy, literally identical to Yae's
I think sucrose is like half kitsune, which is why she doesn’t have too many of the traits besides the ears (as far as we know) also we have seen Yae’s fox form and now I’m imagining a cute sucrose fox form lol
Another interesting note is that Sucrose has dog paws on the bottoms of her shoes. Idk if fox paws are similar to dog paws, but definitely worth looking into
sucrose is one of the most mysterious character, it's a shame that we don't know about her very much and she basically doesn't appear in the storyline, only in albedo's story quest and windblume festival, yet still talking with her then didn't give us any information about her :(
What if sucrose is that fox child that was taught to speak human, or they are her ancestors? to be fair, sucrose is over 4/500 years old too. Now i really hope we get to go to the dandelion sea one day
Is Sucrose that old? I know Albedo says in one of his voicelines that they’re around the same age, but I always thought he meant physically, especially since we didn’t know Albedo wasn’t human until the 2.3 Dragonspine event.
@@schooldude1000 I believe most fans consider he meant in their real age after learning he's not human either(plus albedo isn't really biological so there is no biological age to put there), I feel like sucrose would know albedos secret since they work closely. He is about 500 years old, so since Sucrose herself is a supernatural fox like being its fair to think she's beyond natural human years. I think it's rather normal in teyvat for someone to live over 100+ years if they aren't human.
@@Didi318 ohh,i see, cool, hope we meet a male fox person in the future, tho i have a feeling that wont happen cuz he wouldnt be a seductive fox lady that can show thighs 😂
There's this fanmade speculative map of the entirety of Teyvat and it speculated that the dandelion sea is northwest of the anemo hypostasis and is between the brightcrown mountains and dornman port.
That story, the Fox and the Dandelion Sea, sounds like it's loosely based on a story I've heard many times before. There are often stories in myths about a hunter saving a wild animal and letting it go free only for it to turn up later as a woman. The animal's child is often the hunter's child that he had with her. The ending is an interesting twist to that trope of stories. There's actually quite a few stories like that in European mythologies such as Norse and Celtic, which is where Mondstadt gets a lot of its visuals and lore. So it fits in a way. They don't even have to have animal characteristics in their human forms. Sucrose being one of those Kitsune though might not be far from wrong. It's an interesting thought.
Originally kitsune were basically chinese succubus before making their way to Japan, which is why they always appear as beautiful women. (Although in Japan they are mostly benevolent and serve the god Inari) So it makes sense that the kitsune in Inazuma came from somewhere else originally as well, I always thought maybe they were one of the adepti in Liyue however they could have also lived in Mond. Extra facts about kitsune, there are about five types and can have either gold, white or black fur. The stronger kitsune is the more human they look (along with the tails thing), and the most infamous kitsune was known as Tamomo no Mae who apparently wreaked havoc in China, India then met her end in Japan.
I’m going to admit that I’ve always assumed Sucrose was part Kitsume. I’m realizing now it’s only been head canon and not actually canon 🤦🏻♂️ Being a lore hound means I’ll be making crazy theories and mistakes. It comes with the territory
6:58 or the other way around... the kitsune are all originated from inazuma (tied to the folklore of japan) but of course sometimes some of them having an urge to go outside of their tiny islands and got a sense of adventure, leave and go somewhere else... Maybe these adventurer kitsune's are becoming the ancestors of the kitsune that on the monstadt's dandelion sea.
I always thought that Sucrose is confirmed as someone descending from a Kitsune bloodline. Didn't expect it to be unconfirmed. What fascinates me as well is the fact that Mondstadt is miles away from Inazuma to have Kitsunes since it's from Japanese culture. Unless off-course, they're not region specific. Great video btw! That book is one of my favorite. It's a very tragic story. Reminds me of an animation that I watched (forgot the name).
Yae Miko and Sucrose's ears are stunningly similar which is undoubtedly intentional, but I think the smoking gun for Sucrose being some type of kitsune is that the soles of her boots have paws like that of a canine... Sucrose' story also notes that, out of curiosity, she researched potential connections between her and Diona's bloodlines to ultimately determine that they don't share any ancestry. Perhaps if she ran a bone sample from Yae Miko herself 0.0 !!
So... personally, I don't think Sucrose is a fox as her story states something about being distantly related to Diona's family, but I do think she might have some sort of connection to the Dandelion Sea, assuming the place wasn't "Foxes Only". However, I do think she might be some mythical being as Albedo states she's around his age and he's a little under 500 years old, she might not be what most people think she is.
I would assume that if the dandelion sea would be in the game, that it would be a dungeon of some sort similar to one time story areas like the gates to the afterlife in Hu Tao's event. Infinite dandelions seems too much. That or the area has a lot of normal dandelions we usually see but is also filled with faux dandelions similar to grass.
There's also a mention of fox lady in one of the teahouse in liyue( I don't remember what its called) but if we look into the real lore about kitsune/fox spirit they actually originated from china, so i have a theory that's kitsune are actually from liyue or atleast where they learn they're magic from.
If you want to know more about the trickster foxes in German mythology, check out the 'Reynard the Fox'. It is pretty interesting as the fox is cunning but the main protagonist and not the evil.
Diona and Gorou have a tail, while Miko's and Sucrose don't ...At least at first sight (Okay, neither do Draff and Olaf, but they are npc so maybe it doesn't count)
I think the NPC'S don't have visible tails just bc they are men, if Gorou's tail wasn't so big and his lower outfit wasn't like that, he would also hide his tail
@@Nokyyyyy Checked Gorou's voice lines and he complains a lot about the struggles he has with his tail being out during battle, and since the whole line of these catlike Mondstadt hunters are timid bishes like Draff is, that's why they hide the tail
I have 2 similar possible theories based only on the content in this video about the true nature of sucrose, hope you notice this: -First Theory: Sucrose is actually the female Fox's child with whom the man "built a bond", I suppose the child saw the man as a fatherly figure and this relationship grew stronger enough to alter her psycho chemistry and mindset perhaps even physiological form thus becoming what we know now as ''sucrose''. Maybe he taught her more of his knowledge than just how to speak human language, and this explains why she's intelligent and nerdy looking(Makes sense IF you think about it). -Second Theory: Sucrose is a half kitsune by nature and her biological parents are the man himself and the female fox, (I KNOW this might sound weird and impossible but hear me out). In the video, precisely at 2:06 and I quote on the narration:'' the man gets a feeling of déjà vu as if he knew this woman before, in fact, the man even describes her as a woman he had once LOVED" I think this was kind of a hint, that the man had met the fox women before, fell in love with each other, got married and had a kid but something mysterious(something related to the kitsune magic or fox magic as mentioned in the video) happened to the man that made him forget about his family and though they reunited again it was too late for the father to return to the woman and his kid or perhaps the man did something triggering to the female fox enough for her to hate him, erase his memories and trick him into a one-sided deal with her cunning to wreak revenge?! That's it! Love to hear your thoughts about this.
there's a family outside mondstadts gates near the entrance (aka near timmie) called parsley and rosemary along with their son sage. sage read that book :D and his parents told him to just keep believin
& Sucrose has expressed a desire to create some kind of fairytale realm through alchemy, maybe to recreate the dandelion sea or something like it in teyvat? Also, if you look on the bottom of her shoes, there are little paws on them :3
the rift hound tht r prob native to inazuma came to mondstadt so the kitsune coming here may not be a big issue. it does seem like the rift hound started coming a long time after kitsunes but mayb the rift hounds found out only after the kitsune because the kitsune seem smarter. it could also be the other way wher kitsune and rift hounds and migrated from mondstadt to inazuma. some kitsune stayed in the dandelion sea, sum got lost (rift hounds near wolvendom), and sum moved to inazuma. note tht rift hounds and kitsunes r both wolf like creatures. mayb one of them is an evolved version of others. the small foxes that run in mondstadt and liyue could be mutated foxes, including the blue and white ones in dragonspine.
I think it's worth noting that myths of fox spirits like the 9-tailed fox originated in China before spreading to Japan and Korea, so the "coming by sea" could reference how the myths traveled overseas into Japan. Since Liyue is Teyvat's representation of China and it has a large border with Mondstadt, I think that the Dandelion Sea is likely somewhere along the shared border of the Liyue and Mondstadt.
Also dont forget that the apple islands in monds has inazuma connection (magu kenki n the past ppl) . So i wouldn't be surprised if the kitsune or a branch of kitsune are from Monds . Or they could be from another place and their group got divided . Wonder if we will ever get to go to the dandelion sea or not .
What if....... Sucrose is the child kitsune taught with human speech!!!?? That must explain why there is no other fox in Mondstadt unlike the Diona who has family in Springvale.
Hi, I have a theory for you and that's khaenri'ah is upside down and thats because I think the abyss wants to send us a message. The statue of the seven in dain's quest and the hole city in the chasm, they're both upside down just think about it Pls like:)
*closes book : ☺️ “And that boys and girls is the story of how Naruto learned multi clone Jutsu and Kurama learn how to talk…🤨…..what? Why are you looking at me like that? I’m serious!!
diona is just from the katzlein bloodline or whatever. apparently they are cats because barbatos played a prank on them but idk where thats from or if its true i just saw it on a comment once
@@goatmilk2937 I don't think so because with Yae Miko we know that she has tails, she herself says so in her dialogues and we see them during The Elemental Burst but Sucrose doesn't have any dialogue that refers to her having a tail and she doesn't even know what she is
i don't have yae, but both diona and sucrose has paw patterns under their shoes, but if yae has then maybe they match sucrose's. Gorou doesn't have any though for som reason.
I thought that as well, but the dandelions connect to jean as she is referred to as the dandelion knight, however, in the case of sucrose there is no title that connects with sucrose so it is safe to imagine that she might be a descendent of the foxes in the dandelion sea.
If the female fox communicated in human tongue and human form with the human man why would she need him to teach her child the human language? From the story it looks like she is already fluent in human language herself. Now the whole story sounds like an over complicated metaphor and not an actual story at all to begin with.
