The Busch Stadium issue is ridiculous. Its a top 5 ballpark right now! They could leave it alone for 20 years and it would stay top 5. Its a great ballpark!
I visited Busch Stadium as a Maryland native and Orioles fan last month, and wow it’s a beautiful view. Really cool to see their history, too. The Ballpark Village area was nice as well.
Agree it is going to be fine for the next 50 years, Same with Oracle. Both are around the same age, neither need anything done. I just wish they didn't screw Oracle up with the way they did the bull pens.
The Busch stadium renovation request is ridiculous and insane at best. Guarantee the money is going to upgrade luxury suits or other amenities for the more wealthy to flex. Busch stadium looks grwat, and the location near the arch gives it a very iconic look. The Marlins are a different issue al together. The previous owner created a lot of ill will with the public, lied about an influx of revenue if a new stadium was built, and the team hadn't seen success since 2003. People in Miami see this stadium as an eyesore and costly reminder to never take the word of a snake oil salesman.
I don’t know every time Depressed makes a video suggesting that the Marlins should move, I always disagree. I guess my biggest issue with the Marlins and I’m certainly no fan, but I feel like the Marlins attendance problem has more to do with ownership, compared to the Rays, their attendance is a fan problem. Back to the Marlins, I’ve watching baseball since 1987, before the Marlins existed. I remember in their early years, within the first 15 years of existence, their attendance was very good. Marlins fans have always shown me, that when they see they have an owner who actually cares and is trying to win, Marlins fans do come to the ballpark. Jesus I remember a couple of years, when the Marlins averaged over 30,000 and they were averaging around 27,000 I believe before that first tear down, back in 1998.
Dude, I know you’re entitled to your opinion about Globe Life Field. Here’s reality for you, it will last well beyond 2050. Yes, the exterior is a little bland. That’s not what Globe Life Field’s original design was intended for. No one sees the exterior of the ballpark during the ballgame. The main focus was the roof and the interior. It took a little while for it to grow on me, but Globe Life Field is actually beautiful. Another thing, those “glass” panels on the actual retractable roof and the fixed truss the right field videoboard are actually ETFE panels. ETFE is NOT glass. It’s a film-like sheet that’s stronger than glass. That decision was made because we do get high winds and extreme weather here in Texas (such as hail, tornadoes, etc.). That’s why the glass is primarily on the lower portions of the exterior of Globe Life Field. You really need to conduct better thorough research on these facilities before you put videos like this out. Everyone I’ve talked to loves Globe Life Field. The only thing they don’t like about it is that there’s no field access like a traditional ballpark. Other than that, it is loved by Rangers fans.
I've never been there, but I have no problem with it. The outside of it can be renovated in a few years. It looks good Inside, and it's air conditioned!
Never say never. 2050 is still 26 years away. There will be plenty of change with stadium technology by then and MLB owners love having the latest stadiums, particularly when taxpayers are subsidizing it for them.
@@mrg8581 by 2050, Manfred will be long gone. Hopefully we’ll have a commissioner that will stick it to these owners and tell them to foot ballpark bills themselves if they’re so rich.
Was at Loan Depot Park for an afternoon game this week. The roof was closed with the barn doors open on a 75⁰ sunny day. Felt like being in a dark warehouse. The moment the game ended they opened roof. . Made no sense.
6:09 The Texas Rangers should relocate to Fair Park in Dallas, Texas using the original designs of Choctaw Stadium when the Cotton Bowl gets demolished
@@3Dsjk Well not really true, the technology has actually gotten cheaper and simper to instal. But labor has gone up. But they never open them anyway so why bother. Teams should go the Sofi way, roof but not full enclosed. Not everyone needs a final four.
Miami could possible start thinking about a new Stadium somewhat like Sofi. They can spend the money on a full roof or retractable because they will get to host the Superbowl multiple times. As long as they pay for it on their own dime.
They may have to because unless it is privately paid for and doesn’t take up sparse green space than no choice. Taxpayers here won’t foot bill for UM, let the money that flows there cover it.
@depressedginger i don't know why you keep saying globe life field wont last this was the stadium to fix the issue in Arlington its a beautiful ballpark and it accommodates the rangers and the attendance has been great since it opened
Now I’m curious what he would’ve said about the Palace of Auburn Hills, the Pistons former arena. It looked horrible on the outside, but inside it was absolutely great. Arguably a top-5 arena. His opinion on the Paycom Center in OKC made me wonder.
6:09 The Texas Rangers should relocate to Fair Park when Cotton Bowl is in pieces or next door to American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas using the original designs of Choctaw Stadium
What happened to the days when a well built stadium would last 50 to 70 plus years!? That’s the main beef I have with all of this we need a new stadium talk! It’s probably the main beef the taxpayers have too! 20 years and ownership is back asking for newer stadiums and arenas! What do they think we are!? Made of money!
This guy doesn’t know the marlins have deal with the city of Miami that they can not move till 2057 @depresed ginger do your homework before you make this videos
@@michaelkilbride6420 You're right but is not good business for this owner to move number one don’t matter where he moves if the team sucks like has been forever people are not gonna show up. Number 2 the Marlins got a good deal with the stadium 🏟️ the organization makes money from other events outside baseball they own the stadium without putting a penny, third Marlins got a good deal with the World Baseball Classic and every time the event comes around you know is in Miami, and fourth the Marlins just sign a deal with the confederation of the Caribbean professional baseball to host the event every four years they got a good deal over there in Miami that they wouldn’t be able to have in any other city.
I know Globe Life Field wasn’t well received initially because of those, but I loved it! It just feels fresh! Put it next to Chase Field (which ironically I also liked) and you’ll see why Globe Life is actually pretty nice!
What is your obsession with Hurricanes? They close the roof for the heat and the summer thunderstorms. How many Hurricanes do you think have hit Miami? High frequency?
@@manuelgrothe608 you act like we have multiple Hurricanes per month. The fact is that since 1970, Miami has been hit by Andrew (1992), Katrina (2005 and a Cat 1 when it hit Miami), Wilma (2006) and Irma (2017). FOUR Hurricanes in 54 years. You don't need a dome.
6:09 The Texas Rangers, a Major League Baseball team, should consider relocating their stadium to either Dallas Fair Park or American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas. Moving to Dallas Fair Park, where the iconic Cotton Bowl stadium will be demolished in 2026, would provide an opportunity to breathe new life into a historic location. Moving the stadium to American Airlines Arena would offer a more modern setting. Regardless of the location, the relocation should incorporate the original designs of Choctaw Stadium to preserve the team's identity and history.
I've been saying it for years. I think the Miami Hurricanes should get to play at Loan Depot Park since they torn down the Orange Bowl at the exact same spot. Hurricanes play at Nfl stadium Hard Rock. They played college bowl games at Loan Depot so it is possible.
I'm disappointed in the Oakland Athletics! Las Vegas doesn't want, nor will it support, an MLB team. Just play in Sacramento a few years and build a new stadium in Oakland.
Heinz field is 24 years old and it’s just bla. Very boring very vanilla. The roony’s are cheap so I don’t see a new stadium anytime soon. Renovations? Not sure what they could even do to make it bigger or better.
It's obvious you don't live in the Arlington/Dallas area because some contacts I know actually love the stadium, and stop with your hating of Globe Life Field.
@@manuelgrothe608the only 2 possible sites are Randalls Island adjacent to Ichan Field or Baker Field Columbia University or better yet Sunnyside Yards along with other investors like Google and Liberty Global not just the stadium but also offices retail and 10000 units of low to middle income housing that work well
What a dump that oakland alameda stadium is ' gotta be 60 - 70 years old - i remember watching afl football games on tv when john hadl & lance alworth & gary garrison llit up the raiders in that stadium - i might be wrong it was so many decades ago
Good God, I will vote against any new stadium for the Dolphins. They never win anything and the stadium is fine as it is. It should last at least until the 2060s. No reason for a renovation by the 2030s. Waste of money. The stadium is fine.
The Marlins should have moved to Palm Beach when they moved out of Sun Life Stadium. The target audience should’ve been the retired folks. Instead they built the stadium in little Havana. It’s a headache to get to the stadium, and the locals don’t care about the marlins enough.
