One of the many resources has been using digital editing and illustration sites and apps, like Canva. As a traditional (handmade) Visual Artist, it was challenging to translate my work into printable products. A big plus is to know how to develop websites from scratch and the SEO basics, but to guess the next season's fashion trend would be the "cherry on top of the cake" (since it can boost SEO to the top and very fast, knowing that it takes around 3 to 4 months for SEO to kick in).
There is a shift in Cultural Mindset when it comes to fashion now. And I think POD is the way to go. It’s revolutionary when you think of it and this new mindset will have people care more about what they spend their money on and I believe more people will cherish items knowing who they are buying from instead of a bulk item that may have been discarded. I’m so thankful my business coach suggested Printful for me. I feel the customer service, the consistent educational program - all the videos, the accessible team (FB insiders and if you are part of affiliate programs or ambassador, access to reps) plus how active Printful is in their various Social Medias makes it worth it. The quality is incredible too. In regards to shift in cultural mindset, i know GenZ would rather buy from an Influencer or Artist POD, I’ve spent money with what my teen wanted from online stores and wanting to support artists. This is the new generation, and how their mind works so hopefully this will be the future 🙌

Cool. I registered a while ago with Printful and waited and researched. I am now ready to link up Printful with Launch Cart first. Launching in 2 weeks or so. Now back to working on the designs. :)
On the topic of mentoring: I think if you are a parent, you should always be a mentor to your children. My suggestion is this; there are two kinds of students in college. There are the students that own and operate a business, and there are the students that do not. A student that goes to college owning a business is a student that can ask their teachers, “What are you going to teach me, that will help me build and grow my existing business?” A student that does not own a business, is just a dreamer hoping that somehow, someday they will learn how to apply what they have learned. This type of student is not focused and does not have anything to focus on. The greatest fear of all students today is that they will spend a fortune, and then in the end; not be able to use what they have learned to “get a job”. If the student goes to college owning a business, this fear does not exist. Any professor not adding value to the existing business gets “dropped”, and the student focuses their money on a better professor that does help them grow and build a better future. Thanks for the video. This is Frank from Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. I am just starting my journey toward an online store with my daughter. My wife and I have run a physical brick-and-mortar store previously, but not an online store. This was a very good video. The one topic missed that I would have added to this video was to point out "trends" and what is "trending". The topic was suggested, but not focused on. The ability to investigate what is trending in the world of ecommerce is the main reason I don't want to get involved with a physical store again. Also, a deeper, more powerful hidden tool is "historical trends". I think that print-on-demand needs better tools to see "historical trends". Example: I ask this business question, "When does the change happen in the American state of New York, where purchases of T-shirts slows, and the purchase of custom printed hoodies, and jackets happen?" You can predict when the season will happen, but not the exact time. This knowledge for example could allow a designer to target a very specific geo-located sales area during a very specific time slot. That would be powerful and rewarding.
In comparison to other POD companies Printful's prices ARE too high and you cannot use 'quality' as an excuse especially when the other companies are selling the exact same base item for much lower.
The quality is actually much better. I was a creative director working on Fortune 500 brands for over two decades so I have extensive professional experience in the printing / production industry. I began as a designer so I was always involved in the production stages of the merch for these big brands. I’ve found printful the best among the POD solutions especially with color correction. Printful always has the best true color results based on the design files provided. Unfortunately many people using the platform don’t know how to follow the print specs they provide. I do think they should add more high end embroidery options but their prints are generally on point compared to any competitors. I’m very picky when it comes to approving proofs of my designs and Printful has always been good to my brand and customers. As I mentioned earlier they do need to upgrade the selection of embroidery techniques in their facilities. 3D embroidery shouldn’t always have to be .25 inches thick throughout the design. There are much better techniques / machines that can produce better results without the need for .25 specs. Quality is what sells if you use the cheaper solutions your customers will notice the difference and not return for future conversions. Cheap goods don’t sell and quality goods aren’t cheap. 💯
This is quite a wonderful response from you to the preceding comment. I appreciate it very much in that I look forward to using Printful as my POD source. I also worked in the lace/ embroidery business for a few years and understand that not all embroidery is quality work. Read well the reviews online and you will see that the quality is not exactly the same and by this, I am not saying that all the other POD companies do not have quality at all. Printful is really good, do not elude yourself.
