I am so sorry that I just got to finish this video but that Clerks reference was perfect.

I think the reason people knock on Boeing isn’t that it took 10 years, it’s that it took 4 years to fly, then 6 years to fix all their mess. The shuttle started landing tests in 77 and did its first launch on a brand new launch vehicle within 4 years. And the shuttle tests were with prototypes. Starliners first test was supposed to be a flight ready vehicle.

I don't agree with the "poor Boeing they are inexperienced" (paraphrasing) argument Ej made at around 30:00. Being inexperienced it's not a justification to do such shoddy work with the software which was outsourced to cut costs, it's not an excuse to not do a fully integrated end to end test of the system before launch again to save on costs. Boeing was incompetent and even calling them inexperienced seems a bit laughable, yes they hadn't done a capsule before, but they were still considered the sure bet and paid handsomely for that and don't forget they even wanted (and could've had) sole source contract so let's not treat Boeing with gloves they don't deserve any kind words.

I cannot get excited about the Polaris flights after the media blackout that was Inspiration 4 during most of their flight. Jared's flight, Jared's choice. But dark flights are hard to get invested in.

I hope starliner flies next week, delays suck but like they said, it's better to be on the ground wishing you were in space than to be in space wishing you were on the ground. Boeing can be blamed and shamed by tons of people but I just hope they make this work. Boeing can pay for their failures and fix their flaws some other times.

Very sad with the state of Starliner. Back in the stone age of space exploration, in the era of room sized computers, engineers with slide rules and manually drafted blueprints, NASA went from having zero maned space experience, to landing on the Moon is LESS time than this ONE capsule was built, despite there being a pre-existing one to copy (Apollo !!!).
