"Sorry for butchering this foreign word" shut up I'm butchering EVERY foreign word and not apologising for it in this video Credit to my boy JG Science for doing the Dutch place names. Go check his channel out here: / @jg_online1
This is actually really well edited and very engaging content, really cool to see your developing those skills, glad to have been of help with the Dutch pronouncuations in this video :D Sidenote: Greenlandic doesnt make long words by mashing words together, you are attempting to describe noun compounding which is a mostly indo-european feature not found in polysynthetic languages, words in greenlandic are long due to the massive amount of affixes they take (mainly on verbs but also nouns). In Greenlandic you wouldnt do something like Kinderkarnavalsoptochtvoorbereidingswerkzaamheden (child carnaval parade preparations work) but instead you would do smth more like inuusuttooqqissuusaalaarallarlanga (If you would just let me pretend I’m young again for a little longer), note the different grammatical tactics used in deriving these, while the first is definitely a word formed from compounds, the second is more of a compounded sentance.
0:33 the map of a bunch of American towns called springfield got my dying, the best part is I live near a town called springfield and it wasn’t on the map meaning there are probably a lot more then there are mentioned 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Technically, “Krungthepmahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathaniburirom Udomratchaniwetmahasathan Amonphimanawatansathit Sakkathattiyawitsanukamprasit” is the longest place name. If you are allowing spaces. By the way, It’s the full name of Bangkok Thailand
