All popes serve Satan as Roman Catholicism the Church is Mother Babylon: Revelation 17 identifies the Papacy as Babylon!!! In Bible prophecy, a woman symbolizes a church. A pure woman represents God’s true church (Rev. 12) and an unfaithful woman represents a church that doesn’t follow God’s biblical truths. We can identify who this unfaithful woman in Revelation 17:18 says she was ruling when the book of Revelation was written. History tells us it was pagan Rome (Luke 2:1) that eventually turned over its authority, capital city, and power to papal Rome. Revelation 17 points the following about Babylon: A. She is guilty of blasphemy (verse 3). B. She is dressed in purple and scarlet (verse 4). C. She is called the Mother (verse 5). D. She has harlot daughters who also are fallen (verse 5). E. She persecuted and martyred the saints (verse 6). F. She sits upon “seven mountains” (verse 9). G. She ruled over the “kings of the earth” (verse 18). Let’s review the facts: A. She is guilty of blasphemy (verse 3). The Bible defines blasphemy as man claiming to: First- Forgive sins (Luke 5:21). The papacy claims the power to forgive sins: Here is a section from a Catholic catechism: “Does the Priest truly forgive the sins, or does he only declare that they are remitted? The Priest does really and truly forgive the sins in virtue of the power given to him by Christ.” Joseph Deharbe, S.J., A Complete Catechism of the Catholic Religion (New York: Schwartz, Kirwin & Fauss, 1924), p. 279. Second - Claiming to be God (John 10:33). The papacy also claims that the pope is equal with God. Pope Leo XIII said, “We [the popes] hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty.” Christopher Marcellus, Oration in the Fifth Lateran Council, Session IV (1512), manuscript SC, Vol. 32, col. 761 (Latin). Here is another statement about the pope: “Thou art another God on earth.” Pope Leo XIII, Encyclical Letter “The Reunion of Christendom,” dated June 20, 1894, trans. in The Great Encyclical letters of Pope Leo XIII (New York: Benziger, 1903), p. 30. B. She is dressed in purple and scarlet (verse 4). Scarlet is the color of cardinals’ robes, and the pope often wears the royal color of purple. C. She is called Babylon, the great the mother (verse 5) & D. She has harlot daughters who also are fallen (verse 5). The Catholic Church is the mother church whose daughters protested and thus began to be called “Protestants” but later followed her. Notice this quote from Father James A. O’Brien: “That observance [of Sunday instead of Saturday] remains as a reminder of the Mother Church from which the non-Catholic sects broke away.” The Faith of Millions (Huntington, IN: Our Sunday Visitor, Inc., 1974), p. 401. Yeah I always scoff at horror movies that include "demons" because Hollywood has no idea how terrifying demons ACTUALLY are. Course it doesnt help that people like Weinstein, if not currently possessed, are about as close to demonically possessed as possible.

@@Leaf93 saving anyone has nothing to do with it. I mean in an indirect way as saints inspire us but no the cross of St. Peter saving anyone has absolutely nothing to do with my question.

The connotation of the cross of st peter was hijacked by the satanist in 1970s. Moses had horns before satan had horns. The devil only imitates to debase what is holy and what is from God.

I am a Lutheran who has felt pulled towards Catholicism and Orthodoxy over the past year or so. I’ve listened to a lot of different podcasts and debates about catholicism and protestantism. After attending traditional latin mass twice I feel strongly called to convert to Catholicism. I told my parents this and understandably they are saddened. I’ve grown up a lutheran and attended lutheran school from kindergarten through highschool. I feel as though i’m causing a schism in my family’s tradition. My brother looks up to me and he plans to be a Lutheran pastor. I feel stuck. What should I do from here?

Stick with learning about the Catholic faith especially going to traditional Latin mass which is so beautiful and reverent. It is the mass of a lot of Saints

Look, I'm Orthodox because I followed God into Orthodoxy. Everything lined up. I have to trust that or else I'd never get baptised. But there are people who know more than me about theology on all sides! What if I'm wrong? Well at some point I think we have to just examine our own heart and pray and make the right choice and trust that if God sees us err with a heart that intends and wills obedience to Him, it will be the latter that will engage with His grace and mercy and not to former, which He has a long history of longsuffering forgiveness for. Edit: Oh and I had a lot of fears about how it would affect my relationships but God has been good. Have patience and let him work.

I'm a Catholic, so I'm obviously biased in that I think you'd be better off as a Catholic, but here I go and I hope I may be of service. At this point you seem to be convinced, or at least pretty sure, that Catholicism contains the real Truth about Jesus Christ and God in general. But you're hesitant to join because of the family tensions it would cause. On one hand, I would tell you that everything will be fine, you'll be able to convert and your family won't hate you or disown you or anything, because lots of the time that's the case. I know a guy who converted to Catholicism from Baptism, and to Baptists Catholicism is pretty much the devil. His wife remains Baptist, and they haven't divorced or anything. They're happily raising there kids... Catholic. Such cases are not uncommon in the South where lifelong Baptists and other reform Protestants become convinced Catholicism contains the real Truth. On the other hand, it might not work out that way. Your relationship with your family might become strained, even broken, depending on how they react to your decision to convert. Luke Chapter 12:51-53 are particularly relevant here. "Do you think I came to bring peace on Earth? No, I tell you, but division... They will be divided, father against son and son against father..." The point is, not everyone's going to agree about the Truth, and it might even mean you have to break away from loved ones. And Luke 14:26, "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and yes, even his own life, he cannot be my disciple." This verse is a feared one oftentimes because people take it wrongly, to mean that you should literally hate your loved ones, but what it actually means is that you need to understand that they are secondary to God. So if Catholicism is right about God, and contains the real Truth, then it follows that you must embrace that Truth. In other words, become Catholic. It might cause divisions between you and your loved ones, or it might not. If they do question your decision, however, be sure to EXPLAIN your beliefs to them, so that they can at least respect your choice if not join with you on your journey. In the meantime, if you have any doubts about Catholicism, research the history of Christianity. You will find that Protestant doctrine like sola fide, sola scriptura, have at best shaky foundations in Scripture, and almost no Christians (and practically zero notable Christian doctors or fathers) held Protestant beliefs all the way up until Martin Luther decided to break away from the Church. Protestantism has only flawed human foundations, it is not divinely inspired. The Catholic Church has more legitimate historical claims to its being the true Church of Christ established by Jesus on Earth. The Orthodox Church also has some historical claim, but my opinion is that Catholicism has the stronger claim and so I am Catholic. Whatever happens, God bless you and your discernment.

A really great episode. Thanks, Jimmy and Trent! A couple of notes, if I may: 1. Letters did not use to have a numerical value in Hebrew. They still do. Numbers are not used, for example, in the Hebrew calendar. It isn't 1 Cheshvan, it's Alef Cheshvan in Hebrew. Bible chapters and verses are also given letters to designate their numerical value (e.g. Job XX, XIV/ Iyov kaf, yod-tet) 2. for those wondering why Nero has a W in it, the Hebrew letter Vav (originally Waw) is used as O, U or W (V in modern pronunciation).

Human beings have always wanted and tried to save themselves from their own sins and earn their own eternal salvation. It is part of our sinful nature to do so. But there is no amount of human good works that could ever satisfy the demands of perfect holiness before YHWH because we “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23​). But Jesus, The Christ, was SINLESS and He satisfied all the demands of perfect righteousness. So He shed His own blood and died for our sins in order to redeem us. Then He rose from the dead and victoriously offered that glorious gift of eternal life to anyone and everyone who believes in Him and His promise to give us this gift. Hallelujah, What a Savior!! Actually many Evangelicals teach the same concerning the 666 and 616 referring to Nero. Granted there are many who get caught up in the sensational books and movies. I believe that number is coming down. A lot of Evangelicals have knowledge of and have read Josephus, Eusebius, and the Church Fathers. Many Protestant churches read and teach the scriptures. The reformed camp have some strong Theologians and Historians. Many are well read in the early Church Eastern and western Fathers.

I feel this podcast did not adequately address all of the following details: When did the people of Rome worship the dragon? When did Nero receive a deadly head wound? When was Nero's deadly head wound healed? When did anyone ever say "who is able to make war with him?" How did Nero continue for 42 months? When did all that dwell upon the earth worship Nero? When did the second beast produce a miracle of bringing fire down from heaven? When did the second beast say they should make an image to the first beast? When did the image of the beast speak & cause those who did not worship the image of the beast to be killed? If the mark is not a visible mark, how does the following make any sense using the conditional (or)? Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Please respond with some answers. Also at the beginning of this podcast Trent said that he "just realized that this is episode 666". So Trent planned to produce an episode about 666 and then only only just realized it was episode 666? I suspect the statement that he just realized it was episode 666 was not genuine. If it was a genuine statement, then was the work of his hands in sync with the spirit of the antichrist? Another thing, I have produced info about a visible mark that is global which pertains to worshipping the dragon and is regarded as a beast mark. 1:30 By the time we get to verse 18, we have had both "first" and "second" beast presented. And while _image_ of the beast (portrait or video) would primarily refer to first beast, the _number_ or _character_ could refer to either one or both.

In Exodus, the 10th plague also refers to the mark. The cross of the door on the house of the Israelites, marked by the blood of the sacrificial unblemished lamb saved them from the angel of death that visited the houses of Egypt and passed over the marked houses.

Mr. Akin gave me the confirmation i reached about revelation being pre-70AD. Just as Acts was vol. 2 of Luke; Revelation was Vol.2 of John. John was probably written pre-50AD, while Revelation wasn’t written until after the fire of Rome and the death of Peter and Paul and the first Christian persecution in 64AD. Revelation is written before the Fall of Jerusalem in AD70. The gematria of Nero’s name is spot on. The astronomical data determines the crucifixion on nisan 14 AD33 and it is curious to note that the last stronghold of the Jews against the Romans fell in Masada 40 years to the day. Not only that the Temple of Jerusalem would have been leveled to the ground and every stone removed because of all the gold that melted between the cracks. And the prophecy of the site of the Temple of Jerusalem being plowed like a field was fulfilled when Hadrian founded Aelia Capitolina.

I've got to kind of disagree with Jimmy A. just a little around the 25 min mark. It's true about the marks being spiritual, but also the supposedly half-god Caesars appeared as a mark on the coins (which is why they couldn't be brought into the Jewish temple) and so participation in the Roman economy did require some interaction with an actual physical mark. To apply it to today, it isn't crazy to think that participation in a government mandated vax program (and an industry that doesn't respect life) in order to participate in society has parallels with the Book of Revelation. Not saying the vax is a sin (I don't think it is) but we should ask some serious questions.

A pan-demic ('all-people-affecting') is by definition the way antichrist will work. Oops! Can't buy or sell in case you 'infect others.' Must be baptized into antichrist, or, I mean, get the mark, or I mean, get the vaccine. Did I mention you can't go to Mass because of the deadly virus that is much less deadly than any previous for which you didn't have to? Going to Mass even during the black plague? We don't do that any more, in fact, put Christ in an envelope, in case the Sacrifice of Calvary spreads a virus to you! Don't forget your masks! All serious Catholics were weary from the start of an already completely and utterly godless and hopelessly corrupt government telling us we can't go to church or see grandma because of special government reasons and powers, which was then amplified when they started mandating quite a literal mark, namely, a vaccine, without which you could not participate normally in society - remember St. John saw a vision that SYMBOLIZED the event that he was seeing prophesied, so seeing a vision of some people not being able to buy and sell in, say, a market, which is what he was probably describing in this symbolic vision, should have told him and us - these people, that is, whoever do not recieve this mark, are treated as second class citizens, as they are not allowed to partake in society like anyone else. Keep in mind this vision is about an antichrist trial of believers, to see who rejects Christ and serves this system, and who does not. So it's not a purely temporal affair - but he does use temporary affairs as the means of achieving this end. After all, he has to use excuses for what he is getting you to do that will be believable by those who reject Christ - like 'we're doing it because of an emergency'- the pandemic, the climate. Everything natural is evil - male and female, burning wood or coal, cows, meat, masculinity, femininity, and is 'toxic' for 'the environment' or something else. Never forget that - every tactic the antichrist will use to get you to commit spiritual whoredom will use a NATURALISTIC excuse like climate or pandemic or something else. Every time. He is to decieve all, not only Christians! You had better believe the antichrist will NOT have horns and a pitchfork and horns. Nor will he tell you to deny Christ. Instead, he will demand you do things that require you to do all these things. And if you got the vaccine and weren't in the slightest suspicious, I have bad news for you - you will fall or have already fallen for one of, if not the, trick of the antichrist of the very last days of the world. What are you expecting?

Kudos on an orthodox Catholic answer. Catholic scriptural interpretation was pretty much set many hundreds of years ago, and attempting to reinterpret now in new ways that were never commonly believed before is a condemned heresy. There has never ever been a time (prior to the modern Apostasy) when Catholics believed that the Mark of the Beast was not an actual, temporal mark that also symbolized a spiritual reality. Claiming that we're open to reinterpreting it is flagrant heresy. If you want to remain Catholic, Father, I don't think this is really the channel for you, and Jimmy Aiken is the worst kind of cancer. I would not remain in the Jesuits, either, but just allow them to die out. If you want to be Catholic and remain Catholic, join one of the traditional orders of priests, which will mean that you will have to go back to seminary and be retrained for a certain period of time, but it's a small price to pay for your soul. There are no other options whatsoever. Associating with the Jesuits, who have become Satan's army, is an occasion of sin and will almost certainly damn your soul, because you'll subtly and gradually become corrupted and lose the faith without even realizing it. The worst thing about loss of faith is that you don't even realize you've lost it. Just look at Francis. And it's already pretty bad when a lay person recognizes that you, Father, had the right basic Catholic interpretation, but you were shaky on it and didn't know why you were correct (-because tradition has already established the interpretation, and modern reinterpretations of scripture are condemned heresy). PS: The vax is most definitely a sin on numerous levels, involving grave matter. It was certainly an undeniable litmus test as to who was strong in the faith versus who was weak minded and of little faith or none. It was a clear separation of sheep and goats, and nobody who was weak or stupid enough to take the vaccine will be able to resist the actual Mark. They'll all beg for it, even. You also know it was a sin if for no other reason than that communism, socialism, and fascism were all condemned by the Church prior to Vatican II, and the vaccine was nothing but a totalitarian tool of just such regimes, for the primary purpose of social control and the destruction of free society. So yeah, if you got the vaccine, you're automatically a bad person and a non-Catholic, or you're an idiot and a non-Catholic. The fruit was absolutely rotten, it was already condemned by the Church in principle, and it was predicted in the Book of the Apocalypse. It's completely and utterly irrelevant that that was written to encourage early Christians under persecution - it's simultaneously revealed the End of Days, and that's all unfolding exactly as was predicted. Was the vaxx the actual Mark of the Beast? No, of course not. But it was a forerunner prefiguring the Mark, just as Francis prefigures the False Prophet. Scripture is aaaaall about one event prefiguring another. Early Christian persecution addressed in the Apocalypse is no different whatsoever.

I think there is a lot wrong here but as to the beast being Nero, Irenaeus in the 2nd century spends a whole chapter in his work Against Heresies; book 5 ch 30 detailing this and he doesn't mention Nero once. In fact he says the opposite. "Moreover, another danger, by no means trifling, shall overtake those who falsely presume that they know the name of Antichrist." If according to Irenaeus the beast has not been revealed by his time then he couldn't have been Nero or any emperor in the first century. This is a future event.

Cain had also a mark or sign so not anyone who could see him would kill him, Cain is of the seed of the devil, of the beast in some sense. So that mark was spiritual and physical.

I agree with a lot of this commentary and arguments and it is very good. But that it is a spiritual and not a physical mark I do not agree with. When Cain was marked by God it was that so other men that saw him would not kill him. When the Israelites physical dwellings were going to be passed over when the first born of the Egyptians were going to be killed that was a physical sign of blood over the entrances. It was a physical sign but it also was a spiritual sign. When a man is marked at the end by a spiritual mark that will prevent the angels from not killing him but it will not prevent men from buying and selling with that man. Because most men cannot see spiritual realities. So for it to be enforced that a man cannot sell to another man there has to be a physical reality. The angels will be aware of the physical and spiritual reality that Mark represents. But man in his everyday dealings and his limitations cannot see a spiritual reality to be able to stop selling for buying from them.

I feel this podcast did not adequately address all of the following details: When did the people of Rome worship the dragon? When did Nero receive a deadly head wound? When was Nero's deadly head wound healed? When did anyone ever say "who is able to make war with him?" How did Nero continue for 42 months? When did all that dwell upon the earth worship Nero? When did the second beast produce a miracle of bringing fire down from heaven? When did the second beast say they should make an image to the first beast? When did the image of the beast speak & cause those who did not worship the image of the beast to be killed? If the mark is not a visible mark, how does the following make any sense using the conditional (or)? Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Please respond with some answers. Also at the beginning of this podcast Trent said that he "just realized that this is episode 666". So Trent planned to produce an episode about 666 and then only only just realized it was episode 666? I suspect the statement that he just realized it was episode 666 was not genuine. If it was a genuine statement, then was the work of his hands in sync with the spirit of the antichrist? It seems to me that the antichrist will come back to life from the dead, that will be rising from the bottomless pit which is death, and the world will then wonder after the beast who will at that time claim to be God and the world will then believe it, a strong delusion sent by God who alone can raise the dead.

I'm always cautions when applying the original audience of scripture to our hermeneutic approach. The universal human race is the intended audience of scripture more broadly, so relying on what 1st century believers would be thinking when reading Revelation doesn't seem totally necessary. Beneficial perhaps, but not necessary for grasping the intended meaning.

That blew my mind about Nero. I was wondering yesterday what 666 could possibly mean and had never heard that explanation about Nero. Also, it may not be that people will worship a single leader as a god, but it could just be that they worship ANY human person like a god. I know people who treat political leaders, musicians, false gurus, etc. like they're the Savior.

Hey, just the two I was looking for to ask this question!!!! I have been learning tons about Catholic apologetics over the past few years by listening to you two, Scott Hahn, Steve Ray, Brant Pitre, Edward Sri, Patrick Madrid, Tim Staples, Tim Gray, John Bergsma and so many more..... the one thing that I seem to have trouble with is when my protestant friends (or, anyone on the internet, lol) says there is no proof that Peter went to Rome, or was head bishop in Rome, or that the seat of the Church is Rome. How can I answer these folks when they say these things, but primarily, Peter didn't go to Rome? Thanks bunches!

None of that matters because Rome isn't a magic city that gives the pope powers. Peter has the keys, he handed them to his successors, and he or his successors eventually end up as bishop of Rome. This probably happened because the capital of the reigning "world government" at that time is a convenient place to be a central authority.

Dear brothers and sisters, it is not Rome or the Roman Empire. The prophets and Revelation go in another direction. It's the Levant, not the Adriatic. Think about it. For example, Daniel tells us about the different creatures that rise out of the sea (metaphor for the gentile nations) which, as was said correctly, represent different empires. The fourth beast we get to know more about in the book of Revelation, is composed of these empires. The lion is Babylon, the bear is Medo-Persia and the leopard with four heads is the Macedonian Empire of Alexander the Great which eventually indeed was devided into four main successor kingdoms. Always keep in mind, that the Bible and the stories in it, including the New Testament, are centered about Israel and its neighbors. There is only one empire in history that fits in all of this: The Caliphate. Therefor there will be a revival of the Caliphate and they are working on it, unseen for many people but yet quite obvious. It will consist of steel and clay as the statue of Nebuchadnezzar tells us. An uneasy arrangement and coalition between the Shia and Sunni destined to hold on only for a short time. Also consider reading into islamic endtimes theology. It fits on the dot. As if it were the other side of the coin. Islam's messiah, the Mahdi (the son of perdition) will arise in the end to lead and conquer all the world into Islam. He will be assisted by the prophet Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus, the son of Mary), indeed a False Prophet and a second beast that looks like a lamb (symbol for Jesus) but talks like a dragon, who will do wonders to lead people astray and deny that he was crucified. All christians, who reject this idea and claim will be killed by him. The reign of the Mahdi will be 7 years just as foretold by Daniel. It is not very surprising that the very ideology of Islam is the endtimes enemy here, since it seems to combine all or at least many heresies of church history in it. These are the Judaisers (Christians must be circumsized), Gnosticism (order to abstain from certain foods), the Arians (Jesus is a created being), the Nestorians (Mary is not the Mother of God), Iconoclasm (No pictures are allowed and must be destroyed) and by the way that Jesus was never crucified for man's sin and was never resurrected, which is the greatest lie of all. But no wonder since the devil is the father of all lies and was a murderer from the beginning. He disguises as an angel of light and Mohammad was the victim of him in the cave of Hira. The first Beast that comes out of the waters is not Rome. It’s the British Empire. The Roman Empire was the sixth beast in the visions “that was” and went. The second Beast that comes out of the earth is the US. The Mark of the Beast will be spiritual as you stated, but it will also be literal/physical.

I would respectfully disagree with a number of the conclusions. The preterist view is predicated on the word "soon" in Revelation 1:1. The problem here is that "tachei," from where we get "tachometer" has nothing to with proximity in time. It is about the pace at which the events take place. The confirmation of the covenant, (Daniel 9:27) which is the impetus for building a new Temple, is the last 7 years. Halfway through that 7, the sacrifices will stop because of the abomination of desolation. The abomination is the event that begins the great tribulation. 42 months later, it's all over. So, in the context of human history, 7 years will be "quickly coming to pass." While the RCC was not official until the 4th Century, the religious hierarchy of Rome controlled Roman society. It was that religious hierarchy that erroneously positioned itself as the authority over Christianity.

This is an anti-Catholic view that has never ever been the standard interpretation of the Book of the Apocalypse. Traditional interpretation is the only interpretation allowed. Revisionist interpretation like this is a condemned heresy. That is exactly what I would expect out of Jimmy Aiken, but I'm extremely disappointed to hear that Scott Hahn buys into it.

That's the key. Akins dismisses it though. What a foolish thing to do on his part. God's mark is spiritual. Akins explains this well. In your head he you think of him and in your hands because your actions show his glory. What akins does not acknowledge, is that satan always takes what God does and mirrors it in his own way to fool the people. Satan cannot make his mark spiritual because that is God's mark. So satan will make it physical. What other option is there? Why do I think this way? I used to be that wicked person. If you can take what someone sees as good and twist it on them, you can get what you want from them. If I know how to do this and I know it's deceitful........tell me.......where does deceit come from? Satan He is the master, the father of it. This is why pope Francis said we are not intelligent enough to engage with satan, so don't do it. Funny how alot of people took that as an insult. @@gd808 St. Irenaeus in Against Heresies says John received the Revelation of the Apocalpyse during the reign of Domitian around AD 95, says 666 is gematria for a future antichrist who was yet to come (circa AD 180). It just makes no sense that he's literally a saint in the Catholic church and his early testimony is ignored. There is also plenty of historical evidence for a Domitian reign dating of Revelation, such as contemporary accounts of Domitian being called the "beast" for his ruthlessness.

It's amazing that a scholar can recognize that all this figurative and symbolic language gets attached to 1st century events and characters (preterism) and yet they switch over to futurist mode when it comes to Christ's 2nd coming. The reality is, the entire prophecy was fulfilled in the 1st century. Christ's coming happened at the Temple's destruction in 70 A.D. Case closed.

@@briandiehl9257 Coming on the clouds was Old Testament judgement language. Jesus was never talking about a bodily return to Earth 1000's of years later. He was talking about His coming judgement that would fall on Jerusalem, which was the harlot city in Revelation. The city that murdered the prophets and stoned those sent to her. Those that pierced Jesus flesh in the 1st Century did see His coming. They didn't see His body coming down from heaven because He never predicted that. What they saw was the result of His judgement in 70 A.D. when the Temple was destroyed. The Old Jerusalem was wiped away and the New Jerusalem, the christian church was ushered in. Remember the parable of the Wedding Feast? Jesus was predicting His coming judgement in that generation, a generation was 40 years and He returned in judgement approximately 40 years later just as He promised. The Wedding parable.....The King (God) was enraged and sent His army (Rome) to destroy those murderers (Sanhedrin) and burn that City (Jerusalem). Jesus was not telling his disciples that every eye on 7 continents, including billions of people, would see Him coming down from heaven. When the New Testament uses the terminology (the whole world) it is talking about the known world at that time which was the territory occupied by the Roman empire. Remember in Luke it states that Caesar Augustus sent out a decree that all the world should be taxed. We know Caesar didn't tax the entire Earth as we think of the entire Earth today. This was a local judgement on Jerusalem. At least it seems like a local judgement from our perspective. But from their vantage point it was a world wide apocalypse. When Jesus told his disciples don't look for me in the wilderness....etc....He was telling them you won't see me again bodily walking the Earth. You will see my "coming on the clouds" judgement on Jerusalem. No bodily return was promised. It was fulfilled in 70 A.D.

@@paulv7554 he did promise a physical return. We are told in acts when he ascended he will return the same way, coming down from heaven. Elswhere that he will physically come down to Jerusalem You also when talking about a judgment of Jerusalem skipped over the part that says all tribes of the earth, and all nations. That clearly never happened. Once again, Jesus says the way to know that someone is a false Christ is because everyone will see it and it will be clear to all. If that happened we wouldn't be able to debate it.

Jimmy Akin used the word “us”, referring to the wrong audience. It was written to the 7 churches in Asia, to the Jewish Christians since John was an apostle to the Jews. All of the book of revelation was fulfilled in the first century. What we see today are only principles of prophecies that has already been fulfilled.

It takes good solid & consistent hermeneutics to come to the realization, the time indicators means what they say and we have to look at it from the original audiences perspective. It is an intense & exhaustive study. When Jesus stated "I am coming quickly", He wasn't joking, the sign occurred in the sky within 2 months later. Then began the 7 year Roman-Jewish war.

The kingdom which preceded the Kingdom of God the church is the Roman Empire. The stone absorbed the last Empire, and historically, the Church absorbed the Roman Empire. So we know for sure that the previous/last kingdom was the Roman.

@@AveChristusRex Daniel 2:40-42 The conditions for the fourth empire is it must conquer all the territory of the Babylonian Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, and the Alexandrian Grecian Empire (so ultimately, it must conquer all the territory of Alexander the Great’s empire). It also must be a divided kingdom. Rome did not conquer all the territory of Alexander the Great’s empire and for most of its history was not divided. The Islamic empire was divided between the Sunni Muslims and the Shia Muslims and through its series of four caliphates, it conquered all the territory of Alexander the Great’s empire.

Second, Daniel mentions nothing about the kind of territory that falls under the kingdom (i.e. that it conquers the same territory). It alks about kingdoms in the world, not only one place.

@@AveChristusRex what makes you sure that the Messianic Kingdom is referring to the Church? Why can’t it be the eschatological Kingdom established by Jesus when he returns? Daniel does mention the territory it falls under. Daniel 2:40 “There shall be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron; it shall break in pieces and subdue all these others, just as iron breaks in pieces and crushes everything else.” Definition of “subdue”-overcome, quieten, or bring under control. Bring what under control? “All these others” which is referring to the three kingdoms that came before it.

@@tvhead7074 Because the kingdom set up by the God of heaven is the kingdom of God the church, Jesus spoke of. The replacement of the former kingdoms with it, is described in temporal, gradual covering the earth terms. Not only heaven terms. Read Matthew 16, specifically the part about building the church of God, and then read Daniel 2, the prophecy of the God of heaven setting up a kingdom that will have no end (cf. Daniel 7). It's what Jesus is alluding to there, as you will find when you read them in full, carefully, and openly. I went to the Aramaic to see what it actually says, this is what it says: "The fourth kingdom shall be mighty, like in that it crushes and beats everything else: this kingdom shall crush and beat all of these [other kingdoms]." This only teaches that it so far surpasses and dominates them, not that it takes over the same territory they did. That's not said anywhere. Besides this: you can't simply skip over the Roman Empire lol. Literally the biggest Empire to exist outside the Church.

Jimmy, you evidently don't understand the the layout of Revelation and how Daniel and other prophets words are intertwined into John's revelation of Jesus Christ and the end of the age. The book was written 30 or so years after Nero's death therefore, your chronology is reversed against scripture in Revelation. So many errors you make such as the mark being a cross. Ezekiel 9 has no relation to events in Revelation. The marks are not visible but symbolic except the mark of the beast. Your view of eschatology appears obscured by history and is akin to a false view called preterism. And bang, I researched your views and you're a Preterist.

But let me ask you what do you think of akins dismissing the number 666 when scripture says that's a hint? I agree with him that God's mark is spiritual. But satan's mark cannot be spiritual yet he is thinking that satan's mark will be spiritual. It can't be. Only God's mark is. Satan always mirrors what God does but in a different way. God's is spiritual satan's is of the flesh. So I say the mark is physical. It just makes sense to me. Now do I know what it is? No But I know the characteristics of satan. And it seems clear to me that neither Trent or akins acknowledge the characteristics of satan. Which is why they ignore that satan mirrors what God does but twists it. If I'm not mistaken, the Roman Catholic Church acknowledges satan does this.

We must interpret the whole BIBLE ‘CHRISTOLOGICALLY.’ HOWEVER, that does NOT MEAN that we “SEE THE CHURCH OF CHRIST” in the Old Testament and view all of the MINISTRIES/OFFICES of CHRIST as FUNCTIONING SIMULTANEOUSLY. In other words, we must keep in mind that even though there is the 2nd Person of the Eternal Godhead (the Pre-incarnate Jesus) actively involved with human beings throughout history, there is NO CHURCH of JESUS, THE CHRIST in the OT. The Amillennialist reads all of the NT “CHURCH AGE” Truth concerning our LORD JESUS, THE CHRIST as the HEAD OF HIS CHURCH, back into the OT. THIS IS WRONG-HEADED and COMPLETELY MISGUIDED. The Amillennialist has created the so-called “Covenant of Grace” from their misguided understanding of the “Centrality of Christ.” This humanly created ‘Covenant of Grace” extends from Adam to the end of time - with “REDEMPTION OF MANKIND” as the central theme. And of course, they use the BIBLICAL TRUTH of the ‘centrality of Christ’ In and to all of history as the basis for their ‘Covenant of Grace.’ This then provides the basis for the “spiritualization” of ALL OF PROPHECY. The OT Israelite “looked forward in faith” to Christ for eternal salvation. Faithfully observing the OT Mosaic Laws and sacrifices and offerings all pointed to Christ, BUT it was only through FAITH IN CHRIST that anyone was saved. In this CHURCH AGE and in the FUTURE KINGDOM AGE, it is FAITH IN CHRIST by which anyone is ever eternally saved. We look back on the Death of Christ in our celebration of the Lord’s Table in this age and CELEBRATE OUR LORD and HIS PROVISION OF ETERNAL LIFE by making the SACRIFICE THAT HE MADE. Well, Christ is God, and there's a title: "in the place of Christ" which applies to the pope. His official title is Vicar of Christ which literally means "in the place of Christ." It's so obvious who the Beast is, the pope, the leader of his false "church," and he's not making the connection. How blind. Plus, the Beast will be a political leader, not just religious, and it is well known that Rome has always believed that it should have "supreme temporal power," meaning that it should rule the entire world politically, that every world leader should acknowledge the pope as God on earth and be subject to his authority, just like in the *Dark* Ages. And it's long been known that the papacy is vying for position to rule the upcoming New World Order which all students of Bible prophecy know will be the evil dictatorship where all freedom is lost and no one may buy or sell save he that has the Mark of the Beast. Jimmy Atkin puts Augustus as the first of the 5 Kings, but many a good Scholar put Julius Caesar as the 1st King. Technically speaking Julius wasn't an Emperor, but was certainly viewed by the Jews and the Romans as a King. Julius reign turned Rome from a Republic into an Empire. That would make Nero the 6th King, and Revelation was written during his reign. Makes much more sense, Galba was the 7th and " Yet to come" and only last " a short space " as John predicted. Nero is the 666 of Scripture. Revelation written most likely approx. AD 65.

There have been numerous guesses through the ages as to the identity of the Anti Christ. These include Nero, Domitian, Diocletian, Arius, Mohammed, Luther, Calvin, Henry VIII, Napoleon, Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler and Mao. Antichrist means "in the place of Christ." Does that definition also apply to anyone else you know? The pope's official title, Vicar of Christ, also has the same definition.
