Reddit is largely bullshit. When you start independently checking the "facts" posted there it becomes clear. It's a perfect storm of more engaging posts being rewarded with upvotes, so exaggeration and outright lies are rewarded, and also a lot of its users being losers whose main source of validation and happiness in life comes from positive feedback on the internet
Life expectancy in the US is around the 45th. Malta is 9th. The Maltese healthcare system is quite good and our doctors are very dedicated. Please, don't use our country as a measure of bad ranking.
I've heard the peak oil scare for almost 40 years now. I'm aware it won't last forever but we keep finding new sources and tech to reach it. There is more oil under the black sea than has ever been pumped. Ukraine has the territory rights.....or it did until recently. They didn't have the tech to drill it. Guess who does.
I fly offshore in the Gulf of Mexico on oil rigs. I saw something that we’ve only “mined” about 2% of all oil on the planet. As technology gets better the more access we get to it.
@13:23 As an Argentinian i must say this: most third world countries gives "free" health care are broke as shit and the care itself is average at best.
People have been talking about "peak oil" for decades. 30 years ago the prediction was that we would already be in the doomsday scenario. Technology keeps up and we will find a way.
Cluster headaches are the real deal. I started having them about three years ago, and have been formally diagnosed by a neurologist. There is no pain on this earth even remotely comparitable to a cluster headache, despite this it has taken almost 3 years to get this diagnosed because of the disturbingly low amount of research that gets funded for this condition. Until very recently, these were referred to in medical terminology as a suicide headache.
Shrooms, one gram a week for one month, then a 4 gram master trip after those 4 weeks would change your life, and smoking some zaza before bed would also probably change your life
As a fellow sufferer of Cluster headaches…you aren’t alone!! I first started getting them over 25 years ago when I was a teen. My first one lasted 4 months. As I got older they got worse. Now I actually can’t remember what it is like to not have one as the current one has been going about 3 years. Basically there are just some days it’s a little less. Completely crippling and life destroying!! There are times the pain is so bad I am a trembling mass in the fetal position, unable to even form words as I struggle to breathe through the pain. And yeah, tried everything…no luck for me. If things like shrooms, oils, weed have helped others I’m glad for them. But it’s not a “one size fits all” for treatment. There is so little known on them. I get some relief from a few meds but doesn’t get rid of it. There’s a surgery that looks promising but it’s still experimental. Also, migraines have been recognized as one of the most costly conditions for the economy. The amount of time off taken and decreased productivity is massive!
If you live in America story so many of these "Terrifying facts that the average person does not know" you live every day. We know the people in power don't want to help us, we know that we may never switch to clean energy because its too expensive and makes less profit. We know our country hates us. Gas is $ 4 a gallon regularly gas heating is super expensive that is if you can even afford a place to stay that has gas heating. The last time our minimum wage change was updated was in 2009 right after the housing bubble popped.
You want to hear something wild and depressing? If you take the average yearly wage from before the Great Depression adjusted for inflation the average person in the late 1920’s made 80,000 a year
The idea that we'll never leave this solar system is the one I actually doubt the most strongly. First, it's going to be some time barring some insurmountable problems, fusion energy WILL eventually happen. At that point energy density is a completely different consideration (once we miniaturize it, which is essentially guaranteed if made viable in the first place). Secondly, 100 times our total energy output now... I'm thinking if we can SPARE that, I don't want that much pointed at earthly things. Earth is warm enough now. Seriously, look up some of the thermodynamic data on energy and waste heat. It's kinda nuts, especially when applied to exponential growth models
Story 33: i like to think aliens would be terrified to come here, or even contact us for this reason. They basically will have seen the entirety of human imagination through our films and shows. But they don't know us so they can't tell what's real or fake lol they'd have to consider it's all real since we're crazy enough to act these things out
last time I checked i was dying... found out by luck by going for an unrelated issue that required a blood test... turns out I wasn't just breathing hard because I was out of shape... lucky I learned it before ending up in emergency room (if I was lucky)
With current technology, it will take around 167,000 years to reach alpha centauri. It would have to be a one way colony ship with the capability of sustaining multiple generations on the journey. We would need to discover a viable, long term cryo system otherwise. Or maybe cryo eggs and sperm and then within 20-30 years upon reaching the destination, machines begin growing babies in a lab
I've heard the actual problem is people not taking all of their prescription. They feel better so they stop taking the last pills. When I was prescribed nobody ever told me to make sure I finish them.
They have been talking about "peak oil" since the 50s and they keep finding more oil. If they actually cared about this we would be switching to nuclear.
7:25 LOL, yes, I'm terrified that the government was listening in and has taken a great interest in the half hour I spent chatting with my friend about her broken swamp cooler over the phone tonight.
2:55 i think that notion is one of the silly things people will learn to put behind them at some point. laughing at people for not knowing things is like laughing at a child for not knowing what the moon is, or not knowing how to do advanced math
Humans have bred and expanded so much in this world that now it is a symbiotic relationship: we need this world, but this world also needs us, humans need nature, but nature needs humans. Take deer for example: the natives have never not hunted the deer for a food source before the British, French, and Spanish arrived. If there are no more humans, then the deer would overpopulate. Then there’s plant life: humans have transplanted crops from from one side of the earth to the other and vise versa, and said plants need humans to live as only humans know how to take care of them, or care to take care of them for that matter. At some point in history, humanity could have gone extinct without any major changes to this blue and green world, but now there would be mass chaos should humanity go extinct. Humans are the only species that care wether or not a species goes extinct, plants view animals as seed carriers and later mulch, animals view other animals as lunch. This world now needs humanity to survive as much as humanity needs this world to survive, like it or not.
Most of these were either things I'd expect the average person to know, or mildly uncomfortable revelations at worst, rather than terrifying. The most egregious from the first camp was probably US healthcare. That's like the #1 thing people know about that country, and the #1 thing its own citizens constantly complain about.
Hhhmm, I don't know what to think of the point about leaving our solar system... In ~100 years we went from pretty much horses being our fastest mode of transport to having jets that fly at unimaginable speeds. Going forward we're gonna have a lot of help in solving problems from AI and quantum computing so 🤷🏿♂️. Oh and that's also if we don't manage to kill ourselves 💀
Actually, for over a thousands of years, the fastest form of transport was a form of land yacht (basically a windsuring board with wheels to allow it to be used on land. These were even used in ancient Egypt to capture smugglers. They could reach speeds of about 160mph.
@@sheldonhagerman6324 Would you not treat small aliments with tea and herb filled meals? And bring larger aliments before the Physician? The power of herbs alone will not cure the incurable nor will reliance on medicine made with cogs and gears. Both in tantum save the body from unpleasant fate.
I suffer from cluster headaches too. The fact that you are still here shows you are an incredibly strong human. I hope you have a treatment that works for you.
These are all doom and gloom and shit, just remember, theres always something to strive for, a goal to achieve, and hope to get, just because its not going the best, doesnt mean you cant have the best time
I remember as a kid peak oil in the 80s, ers 90s err now its coming its just around the bend. Will it happen sure, should we develop more alternatives absolutely is it about to happen no.
No one’s a hero in the world, if a fight happens everyone stands still watching or pulls out their phone or when war starts they do their best to find a way out
Story 5; so true; as I look at studies and medical advise from the past 😂😂like why certain “toys” were invented and how they used to tell people to use cleaning supplies to wash themselves in certain places lol
Well Fact11 just depressed the ever loving fuck out of me, more so because I doubt I'll even have 10 let alone a hundred people that would be aware of my passing 😅😅😅😭😭😭😭😭
A lot of the stuff in the video is bullshit. It’s made by some 16 year old redditor who read one headline and maybe the first paragraph of the article and thinks that they’re now a expert in the field.
One day, you will surely die, and of all religions, only Jesus Christ demonstrated that there is salvation after death for people and this is possible only through faith in Him. So believe in Him, read the Bible and get baptized as quickly as possible, because there is no proof that you will live until tomorrow.
