I am learning English and am from Korea. I have been finding some videos that includes the gospel as it should be very easy to understand. I think this video is awesome. For me the pronunciation it sounds clear and easier than the other videos that I watched. anyway thank you!~

Very good and concise summary. Thank you. For me I started getting serious about fasting only two weeks ago and first point : do it to humble yourself before Mighty God, humble yourself to Him . Allen is right tho also: to replace yr possible idolatry of other things in yr life during the times of regular fasting. Get serious with the Lord! He is worthy .

I didn't love fasting so much but I know I God wants me to fast.I've found that I love eating sooooo much so I make it a priority to fast more often.Some times the Holy spirit convicts me into it especially when I have a satanic attack against me in the future but I've also noticed that I love my phone, even though I use my phone to glorify God in my WhatsApp statuses,look up Christian videos on U tube and so on but I feel I need to minimise my time with the phone.So what I'll do,whenever I feel like holding my phone,I'll grab my bible instead.Because during my fast I want to hear a word directly from God and build that connection with Yahweh
I love how you broke this down! I am doing a Daniel fast for a personal struggle I want to be delivered from & also for anyone in the hurricanes lately , against any plans of Satan's with these crazy times. I have never done one, never thought I could. I have a huge sugar addiction & am hypoglycemic, so the Lord even getting me strong enough to the point where I think I could do it & actually made the commitment is an amazing testament to me of how He works wonders, He is so good !
Wow! Amazing. A fast like that takes discipline. I've done it a few times and it is VERY difficult for me, a man who loves to eat. I trust God will draw you closer to Him during this fast.
I want to be delivered from this dead end disrespectful place I’m in and that’s my place of employment. I need to fast to get closer to God (ME AND MY TRUE SELF). I’m giving up the things that I enjoy. Hopefully it will deliver me from my insecurities and help me get a better place of employment to take care of my family. ✌🏾

Thank you I had to really get some info about this, my church is going to fast and I never attempt it, but ever Since I left a mega church my walk with God has been a new change in my heart to understand him more and what his word says and why it matter as I continue to live for him as I grow.
I’ve been saved this year, and hopefully you see this comment. If I even went 2 days without food, I literally would feel insanely weak. How do people go a full 2 weeks without any food?
Imagine how much you crave man’s hunger for food, and how much MORE you should then be craving the Word of God which is what we need to feed our Spirit so that it does not grow week. And fasting helps put that in perspective.

Thanks for the clearity, but can you pls advice on how to cope when you are fasting and at work and you get so frustrated and angry due to daily stresses/ pressures you don't even get time to pray the whole day, you actually forget that you are actually on fasting, it happens to me may times,
Great video Allen I gave up on watching TV giving me more time prayers with God, only thing I seem to be getting attack at nights by evil thoughts for some reason I catch myself be for going to deep into them, I seem to be having a lot more time with God talking a lot more but I can't understand why these thoughts come at me at night time 🤔

Fasting has to be food. What he is referring to is abstinence. fast verb abstain from all or some kinds of food or drink, especially as a religious observance. Not trying to be a jerk or annoying but you shouldn't just make up the definition of a word to suit your own agenda. Fasting and abstinence can lead to the same thing, which is growing closer to God and glorifying him. Fasting, however, is specifically abstaining from food.
This was a great explanatory and concise video! The only things I would add are that I personnally think that fasting is awesome if it becomes a lifestyle but it doesn't have too, fasting punctually is also great. Water fasting and the daniel fast are other types of fasting worth trying.

Hey Allen, I was wanting to do my first fast and I’d like to get help from God for a breakthrough. My dad has been in chains since he was young, Satan feeds him lies and I feel that he’s engulfed with evil spirits. I feel that with prayer and fasting, God will release him from oppression from the enemy. I just don’t know how to fast. What do I pray, do I use scriptures, if so, which ones? I’m so lost. Hey Aileen, yes you can still fast. Just choose to fast from something other than food. Remember, the point of fasting is to give up something that is precious and valuable to you to spend time with God. That can be TV, social media, or a variety of other things. Don't sacrifice your health for the fast. Hope this helps!

this comment is really old but actually there are studies that show that fasting is good against epilepsy. its actually about being in ketosis and if you fast right you should be in ketosis. but obv you should talk to your doc before doing it

I see that this was posted 5 years ago, but it's still relevant and I hope I get an answer to my questions. Other than for physical/health reasons can you tell me why I can't get all of the things you mention just by spending my time in prayer and devotion reading my bible? Did I not receive everything when I got saved. Is God holding something back and those secrets are only revealed if I fast while praying and reading scripture?

The "fasting" during "Lent" rarely seems to include realistic fasting or abstention of food and water (as Jesus did, and the Jews still do today, when I lived in Israel). But Christians seem to view denying themselves treats like chocolate or acohol as "fasting" while eating normally! I thought Jesus fasted 40 days and 40 nights in the Wilderness for us as part of His preparation for going to the Cross and facing the devil's wiles. If we do it on top of Jesus, it diminishes what He did, as we focus on what we do by our own good works, rather than giving the glory to Him. My father saw an advertisement at a local church in our town promoting events of "prayer & fasting." My father, who believed in fasting for specific and often intractable problems, asked the minister of the church, "What are you fasting FOR?!" The minister could not give an answer. A short while after my father noticed that the advertisements had been removed as the minister obviously did question his real reasons and motives for calling such a public fast. Fasting is part of personal and communal church practice, but it is not just a religious ritual or something to do without real purpose, sincerity and humility before God. I see no instruction in the New Testament to encouraging "partial fasting" over "Lent" for 40 days, but some churches treat it like a rite of passage, whilst others ignore it completely! I can understand why non-Christians get confused and disillusioned by what they see. Plus fasting was to be done "in secret" not bringing attention to onesself, like during "Lent" when so many tell all their friends what they are "giving up for Lent," although not necessarily for God!
Let's say Im going to fast for a week, does that include water? I was rushed to the hospital one time because of dehydration. I'm just worried i would get dehydrated again.
If you're fasting from food, then it is very very important to drink water. Water is one of the most important substances your body needs. You can survive a few weeks without food, but you'll most likely die within a week if you're not consuming any water.
