What is the Queen Anne Victorian Architectural Style?

I just finished restoring a house in Lake Forest Illinois that I believe was built in 1926. I really wish I could recall the architect because he was of some great note of that time in Chicago's north shore. The customer had no idea how big a treasure they had when they purchased the house, but I was able to go through and show them where the old sliding garage doors used to mount, the copper roofs over the bays that were painted over and the beautiful walnut trim everywhere that was painted over several times. I talked them out of remodeling and into a full restoration with some modern amenities. The butler's pantry was scheduled to be ripped down for extra room and we did new cabinets, a wine cooler and a modern adaptation of a bar sink. The servant's quarters was actually the biggest room in the house and had two nice dormers so we made it into their family room on the second floor. It had its own stairs to the kitchen and the trim was simple in that section of the house. That house took me 2.5 years inside and out and to this day is my pride and joy.

I like how some of the old house in England n France still have the records of when they were working house. The receipts of payroll n groceries etc. Even this house wouldve been so busy n teeming with life back then

Another fascinating history tour. I can sort of see how the freedom and exuberance of the Victorian period would be born after surviving the Civil War, sort of Lincoln’s “New Birth of Freedom.” But if the Victorian starts in 1860, that would be just as the country was being ripped apart. Why was the country then ready to move away from the strict rules of Greek and Roman classicism?

It's sad that you have it looks like a double-decker porch and you didn't show us the rooms that would have connected to the double-decker porch or going out the double-decker porches those are interesting features you would have loved to seen also if there's addicts if there's spaces in the underground with the basement that would have been really interesting we love to see those different kinds of places
