Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee are right around the corner! And I have a theory on what the 3rd starter Pokemon of these games may be! We may see Professor Oak use it in a battle against us, or... We may see it be used by Lillie while we become the Pokemon League Champion! It's definitely clefairy, the reason I say this is because if you enter the Pokémon Dan club in vermillion city and walked to the left side of the room...there are 3 plush Pokémon dolls. Left is Pikachu, right is eevee, and the middle clefairy. (What I've seen playing let's go Pikachu) definitely some key points stated in this video.

Charlie Hill starters shouldn’t be version exclusive but MEW IS AVAILABLE IN BOTH VERSIONS so it has more starter leverage

It's definitely likely that Lillie would encounter a Clefairy in Kanto. She was looking to find Bill's Cell Separator machine after all, and Bill accident fused himself with a Clefairy with that thing once.

@@HybridHero From what I can recall about Pokemon SM is that Lillie left to Kanto so she can help her mother by finding Bill. In the USUM version, she remained in Alola but became a trainer and her partner is Clefairy. I honestly hope she got that Clefairy from Kanto then went back to Alola. In the anime, she revealed that she got mad at her mother for evolving Clefairy because she liked it the way it was.

Spot on! I had a very similar theory with Lillie and Clefairy a while back, but it was regarding the anime and Lillie’s incarnation in that series, since she had strong connections with her mother’s Clefable during all three stages of evolution (and was initially huffy towards its evolution to Clefable). :D

I think it might be Marill and Togepi. But since Togepi is a big part with the egg hatching, that might not be the case. Unless, Let's Go 2 Johto starts almost the exact same way as Silver and Gold, where we choose our starter between the usual suspects, and the egg hatches into our partner Pokemon when we reach Elm's lab.

Clefairy would make a lot of sense. However, I will make a small note. "Pokemon is trying to push Eevee as a new mascot" isn't entirely correct. For years Eevee has been a mascot to Pokemon in Japan. For the past five+ years Pokemon Center of Japan has included both Pikachu & Eevee in every special event in stores. It isn't some push. He was already hugely popular amongst fans.

It's definitely a sound idea all around, I think, but I don't think we'll be seeing Lillie, although I kinda go hope. Hate to break it to ya, but this doesn’t work. Red and Blue are confirmed to be in LGPE and they are not the same age they are in SM/USM. Therefore, LGPE is likely an alternate reality of RBY or a parallel story of it, and RBY happened 20 years before SM. Doesn’t work with Lillie, but I do support the idea that the third is Clefairy and Oak might use it later on. Maybe Green!

fun fact: in the pokemon special manga jigglypuff was blues first pokemon before she stole her starter of choice squirtle. it later on evolved during the FRLG arc and by the ORAS arc we see that she obtained a second jigglypuff so she could use it as a method of transportation like she had done with her original jigglypuff. however blue did have a clefairy and it was a major contribution in defeat a chimeraesic pokemon team rocket developed call "zapmulcuno" (basically a fusion of the three legendary birds) when it evolved after red traded a moon stone he acquired a long time ago for the marsh badge that blue had in her possession after stealing one from sabrina. this newly evolved clefable greatly weakened zapmulcuno with a barrage of powerful attacks utilized by metranome.

Isn't one of Lusamine's Pokemon a Clefable? (and in the Anime it was apparently also her first pokemon, just like Lillie in USM) That's honestly who I was thinking of before the big reveal of Lillie... Then again that's still off by 10 years, since she's revealed to be 40 in (U)SM

It is possible. I seen the fairy gym leader from Ultra moon and others when I got off the boat. I spoke with her and she pulled me into a battle and its here same style and paint on her as well as she does not look any younger or older than when she did in Ultra

*I think that Clefairy is not going to be the third starter. If anyone here watches the anime, they would know that in Sun and Moon: Ultra Adventures, Lusamine forced Lillie's Clefairy to evolve into a Clefable. And if Gamefreak wants the timeline to be accurate, then they would have to have the Let's Go! anime before the Sun and Moon one, and I don't believe that they would have the anime out of order. I believe that it could be Jigglypuff, though, because in the anime, there was a wild Jigglypuff that appeared briefly in the Sun and Moon anime and befriended Oak's Komala. Lillie may catch it at some point to remind her of the Clefairy that she used to have before her mother made it evolve. It's weird, though, because Clefairy disappeared and never reappeared after befriending Komala. Also, Jigglyuff, Pikachu, and Eevee were all in Smash with Jigglypuff and Pikachu as playable characters and Eevee as one of the possibilities of coming out of the Pokeball item.*

Just gonna put it out there, there is a Manga where Clefairy is the Mascot. Also mentioned the whole anime thing is laughable. Let's get into a bit of the whole "what Pokemon did" there are other Dimensions. That is very much cannon. So mentioning the whole anime and games, well you need to know. If adding the Games and Anime mashed together, then you got to add the Manga as well. Red does own a Clefairy in a comedy like Manga. It is the main mascot of that Manga. Also did you forget what ORAS Delta Episode did? Gonna repeat, there are other dimensions. Heck maybe in another dimension, Mimikyu might as well have a cloth of Clefairy. Heck Mimikyu typing is a bit odd don't you think? It's Ghost and Fairy. Why the heck is it Ghost and Fairy? Shouldn't it be Ghost and Electric because it's like a Pikachu? It kinda hints at that Clefairy was supposed to be a mascot of Pokemon, but Pokemon Co changed it to Pikachu. So Clefairy is a forgotten starter. It was trashed like a Banette. This is why Mimikyu in the anime hates Pikachu. Pikachu took the spotlight of Clefairy. It can be the ghost of Clefairy. That's another theory that people thought of. Do you think that it was right that Clefairy is a forgotten starter? So both of us have a different theory. But mine kinda well is a opposite opinion.

Very well mapped out very good theory and very well addressed I hadn't thought of Clefairy but you lay out some very accurate points and reasonable deductions. Plus I like the way you said that Clefairy is the symbolism of the origins of Pokemon Eevee symbolizes all the possible evolutions and varieties of Pokemon and Pikachu represents the Legacy and what we're all very familiar with.

I'd like to think it's ditto. Because in the reveal trailer for meltan, professor oak kept cutting off sycamore and guessing what pokemon he was sending to the lab. He guessed pikachu and eevee, and when sycamore said it was a ditto, oak said that was his next guess. Now oak could've been talking out of his ass, (which isn't unlike him) but I would've liked to see it.

Hey here is some extra evidence. In the Pokémon fan club there are 3 plush Pokémon that a pikachu is looking at. These Pokémon are pikachu, eevee and you guessed it clefairy.

Well if anyone notice that the third Pokémon ball is gone when you go back to Oaks lab when you are trying to get into The final gym but is still there if you go there anytime else so I wonder who it could be.

Or maybe green stole the clefairy like she stole squirtle in the manga, and ended up evolving it into her clefable, explaining why the third poke ball mysteriously disappears after you choose your starters

What if it is a mew to represent the pokeball plus and then that is because when you get the pokeball plus you get a free mew and in the original gen 1 games there was a mew glitch, so maybe that is it? Don’t hate pls.

When I went back to oak labs at the end of the let's go game the third ball was gone, I don't remember any other game (with only one rival) that has the unused option not still on the table

If Clefairy is the third party of the Let’s go series, then who should Eevee evolve into? Here’s my deductions: Since Pikachu and Clefairy are Electric and Fairy Type, Jolteon and Sylveon are the first 2 out. Electric, Normal and Fairy are all neutral with each other so there shouldn’t be any type to interfere with this: Vaporeon is out due to Electric weakness Flareon is out due to Fairy resistance Umbreon is out due to Fairy weakness Leafeon is out due to Electric resistance So, between Espeon and Glaceon, who should be the one to complete the Raichu, Clefable and Eeveelution trio? The answer is Glaceon. All 3 can evolve through stones whereas you need to friend Espeon. Thus a Electric, Ice and Fairy trio.

I think your theory is right! I’ve been playing Let’s Go Pikachu and I just got all the badges. I went back to Professor Oaks place and the third Pokémon starter wasn’t there anymore! Once I saw this I thought maybe she’s an after game Easter egg? I only thought of that cause Mina’s in it as an Easter egg too.

I am not sure if Lillie being in let's go makes me like her better or worse? The issue with that theory is red and blue are confirmed in let's go. The age difference of red from sun/moon doesnt match the design of red let's go so lillie wont work. Oak theory is likely however.

Originally I thought that the third starter Pokemon would have been meltan because oak has one in pokemon go but since you brought up Clefairy it actually makes a lot more sense and now my mind is blown
