Welcome to the AR Autos Vlog!
I'm your host, Nick Taliadoros. In this episode, I talk through the TTC button on an Abarth 595 Competizione. I do a few power runs, show you an example through the corners and try to explain how its like an MLSD, but absolutely not at the same time.
Check it out!
All parts were fitted at AR Autos.

Good video topic millions of people don’t know what this button does or read the manual of the car. I always have this on love it on roundabouts

The roundabout tripod footage is crazy. I thought this button meant I'd be more likely to crash but clearly not lmao

Hi! Thanks for the kind words about the channel :) This came as standard with this car, but I do know that their are a few after market variations that include Apple Play. I think Kenwood is the favourite! :)

I ordered my 695 too late in 2022, actually 2 days before they stopped accepting orders for 22, so i was still lucky to get one in rally blue instead of orange, as i like green and blue colors more; but i was not only unlucky in that i couldn't get a 595 competizione in adrenalina green anymore, but also i couldn't get the competizione package any more as they stopped offering the lsd for my23. Good thing about this is that my22 without the competizione package came with the softer, cloth covered gt version of the sabelt seats, wich you have too, whereas the competizione package has the leatherette race version of those seats; but now i don't have a factory lsd and i will have to get an aftermarket one at some point. I read into this before ordering the car and i know that the ttc is basically a worse performing replacement of a locking diff, as it uses the breaks to emulate the function. But so far i haven't used it, because i am a bit stressed about the idea of wearing down my breaks quicker and unevenly, as they have to effectively fight the engine on the inner tire, while going around the corner. But at high speed (around 150-200 km/h on unrestricted parts of the german highway) i do most definitely feel the car understeering. A friend of mine who drove it, who didn't have any prior exprerience with high performance versions of wrong wheel drive cars, was also caught a bit by surprise, as he had to steer harder on the bend when he accelerated to about 150 km/h. This year, now that i finally got the car after 14 months of waiting from the date of order to the delivery, i plan to go out on tourist drives on the nordschleife. While i am a beginner and i won't be pushing it anyway and go way too slow on my first laps, i still feel a bit nervous about the understeer; but i'm also a bit afraid of voiding the warranty on a brand new car, by getting an aftermarket diff installed. After a couple of laps i want to try one with ttc on to sse the difference, but i do feel uneasy about the idea of over wearing and most importantly overheating the front breaks.

Just be careful with the TTC, as I mentioned in my experience, at high speeds, it can just stop working which gives you a very fast amount of understeer in a scary moment! It's great for gripping roundabouts and hard corners at lower speeds.

Amazing how ill informed many people are on the forums. The button is a seriously good handicap. I have read in the wet its best to keep it off but I need some track time to figure that out!

TTC is also really good for launches as it disables the traction control to some degree, you will always get better times that with ttc off

It takes over from the ESC cutting the power to the engine for sure! On a dry day though, with warm tires, I have found that with TTC off, it's been more aggressive! Maybe I need to get the stop watch out to test...

Is it true if you hold it down for 10 seconds it turns ESC and TTC completely off?

Is it safe to leave that button on all the time? Sweet vid by the way 👌
@nainportequoi4942
@nainportequoi4942 5 месяцев назад
Yes it's safe, but I don't recommend it. On mine (Abarth Pista 2020) I put the TTC on daily and after 10,000 km my rear brake pads are already dead.

You can definitely leave it on!

It’s not left on as default as it uses the front brakes as per video. If you leave on all the time, you’re have uneven pad and disc ware. I would leave it off and use when needs be.

Good content 👍🏻 would love to see some dragy times, 30-70, 0-60. I have a mapped Comp and 30-70 is 5.2 secs (starting in second gear at around 25mph and boot it) not sure if this is a good time as I e not seen another 30-70 time for an abarth.

I have tried it and I can say it is better. Works well with LSD. I think it definitely reduces the traction control and stops abrupt cut of power when loosing traction. It also improves roundabouts and hairpins. I almost wrote the car off today on greasy roads but that is pure driver error. Full on lift off oversteer snaking, shit my pants moment 😂. Car is also stage 1 with forge induction and turbo inlet pipe.
