Great day for a ride and the Vulcan 900, in my opinion is the best in the back roads. Had to share with your all!
Is my speedometer off? Let's check that while we are at it.

Unless your driving a 1200lb bike and even then the wind may push the bike a little bit. It comes from getting used to your motorcycle and riding. You barely notice when the rear end slides a little bit. Your assessments are right on man! Good job.

Hey Now. Thanks for the videos. I just posted on one of your videos from a month ago. On that one I mentioned I just got my license and purchased a Vulcan 900. Oddly enough I will be on Vasco to pick it up this weekend. Im in Stockton and the bike is in San Ramon. I wanted to stay off the highways if possible as a new rider so Ill be taking the back ways on Vasco. Again, thanks for the videos.

@@CageFreeMoto Dang, the wind was no joke. For my first ride bringing the new bike back over that pass with a high wind advisory this weekend, it was a big test. Very fun ride even with the winds being as bad as it was.

Bay Area winds don’t play man. I’m out in fairfield and it gets loud and pushy. Just got a vn900 custom and I love it.

You have a good problem or should I say decision on your hands. I was also looking at the c50 and really wanted it. But I am happy I went with the 900 as it seems like a big bike but I thought it was great and the 900 size kept up with traffic great. C50 has a 5 gear which is great but the Classic 900 is, well, a 900 and better to have a bit more and not much More than the C50 805cc. I wish I had a 5th gear on Kawasaki but in my opinion I think having the engine a bit "bigger" was the win for me. Let me know where you land, and either way you're on two wheels. Go with the 900. It’s not a big difference but you will out grow the c50 faster than you think. The 900 is just big enough to ride double and not be lacking and sporty enough that you can twist the throttle every once in a while and smile. Also fuel injection is much easier to deal with than a crabpotatoe.

Curious how these do at 80. Speed limits in my state are mostly 75 or 80 & a few places 85. I sit around 80 because over that the wind pressure & noise gets annoying but engine sounds & feels relaxed until 85, then a little buzzy & losing roll on power. Looking for a cruiser in this size to replace my current bike.

It was start a bussing feeling n the footboards at about 70 and would calm down around 75. The Vulcan 900 is not "broken" but works as designed. So nothing to worry about. That said, for me, I felt like I was pushing it and since I wanted to go on long rides I decided to go with something bigger. As you may know, I now have a Harley Davidson Road King. :) Want to add that I never lost roll on power with the 900. If I needed to pass or get out of the way there this Vulcan never let me down.

Hey nice videos. I'm hesitating between a VN900 and a similar priced VN1500. I'm mostly driving on small german roads (limited at 60mph) and to work in the city. Should I get the bigger but older bike, or the newer but smaller one? In the case of the 900, would a suzuki 800 be a better option?

If you are sure you will be staying on small roads and not planning on much long trips I would recommend the VN900 hands down.

@@CageFreeMoto yes, I always try to avoid the autobahn with a motorcycle. Even though you can go unlimited speed, it’s more suited for cars. Then I will go for the 900, which is also 10years younger than the Vn1500 I was looking at :)

The 1500 is a old bike for sure, the 900 can be a 2021 ... not enough info. Check out how much "bigger" the 1500 is. 2cm longer wheelbase and aprox 30kg more heavy if i remember good.

@@corneilcorneil Here in Germany the VN900 was only sold til 2016. It’s hard to find a good price on those. But I think I’ll go for the VN900, don’t want to pay the same price for a bike 10years older

I know Google maps when I'm doing 80 on the bike it shows 75 on maps, 60 in the bike is about 58 on maps. I have yet to use other apps for speed I should venture out for tests though

Google GPS is probably accurate to +/- 1%. This represents 0.5 mph at 50 mph. - I googled this ;)

@@CageFreeMoto I figured it's pretty close, I have a 170 15 inch on the rear and a 90/90 21 inch on the front(custom 900) rumor has it of you get a 200 rear tire and both pulleys swapped for the barons it pretty close to what's on the speedo gets corrected to x amount of %

my 900 speedo was 4 over gps speed. put a taller tire an it was 2 over...

Maybe it was just my bike but i just looked at my video and at 60mph on the app i used, my speedo said i was going about 66-67. At 50 on the app, speedo said 55-56. What app did you use? Now it's got me wondering how accurate my app is...or isn't. Hate to feel like I put bad info out there, but I have heard others talk about it and have also had a buddy I was riding with ask me why I was going under the speed limit...something I NEVER do. lol. Anyhow, doesn't really matter...only a couple mph. Peace from the east coast

The App I used is Speed Box. I did not notice that everyone was passing me on the freeway until you pointed it out too me., Don't worry about possible bad info... I thought it was a great callout and something that we should verify. So, THANKS!

Did you change your tire size or maybe check them against what is recommended by Kawasaki. That may being throwing off your speedometer. Keep me posted!

Mine was off a few miles + or - but nothing that I was worried about. Interesting that you found it at 50 MPH, I was just comparing as I rode home.

Sorry, I think you are referring to windshield? If so, it is nice to have the option to enjoy your ride without one but great to have it for longer rides so you do not get tired. Let me know if I understood your question.

Totally! With a quick release for hot days on the back roads. But yeah, I think, for me, a windshield on the freeway would be great.

I'm in between, the classic and the classic LT. I like the look of the classic but the LT comes with wind sheild. I don't like the studded seats and bags though. I would add windshield and Viking bags to classic, replace seat and add Viking bags th Class 900 LT. Looking for cheapest route

You can't go wrong with bags and windshield. I was on the same path with seat change and added Viking bags... the bags were great, no more backpacks :)
