the first one is apam balik, the second one that you eat is apam jepun or sri kandus, both served with different kind of filling, for me I love the original apam balik with peanut and sweet corn, apam jepun@sri kandus pineapple is so good but it's rare to find.
@@josievlogsthings ; Hi Josie. Have u tried Putu Mayyam? It's an Indian delicacy. But if u come by to Sri Rampai, Kuala Lumpur (near the lake), u can try the Pandan version which is sold here. ☺ P.S.: there is a lot of road side hawkers in that area and they normally operate at noon.
I find it funny how everywhere in Malaysia the second dish has a different name cuz here in Bintulu we call it kapal manis cuz it looks like a small ship 😂 Maybe its just me and my family who calls it that but the vendor who we always buy from calls it Kapal manis as well. Its my favorite kuih to eat. Sadly, the vendor doesnt sell anymore so I dont know where else I could find it :(((
if u like to travel to somewhere that have lot of verities of food..i recommended malaysia.. bcs we have all tbh...we have malay, chinese, india, thailand, japan, all type of food fast food store..or restaurant type... u can find just truck food.. or even night market.. so pick your choice
Have you been to the east coast to the state of Kelantan and Terengganu? There you will experience more of the local Malay dishes. Dont just go to chinatown or little india which you will find all over the world.
Apam balik is an traditional food that many people love it apam balik is really like a flip pancake but it has so many flavors like kaya choccolate and more😊
the folded one is called "turnover pancake" (apam balik). there are 2 versions and 2 sizes. a crispy version usually small size (crepes) and a fluffy version this size, big ones. i normally make crispy version either big or small. similar to Hot & Roll skin recipe but with some coconut milk...
