One quality that appears with different names in the 3Ps (Purity, Patience, Perseverance) and the 5Ds (Duty, Devotion, Dedication, Discrimination, Determination) is Patience/Determination. Without that quality, nothing much can be achieved, especially on the spiritual front. Here is the experience of a singer, SVBS Sai Krishna, who was also a student in Sathya Sai Baba's school and college.
Being a well-appreciated bhajan singer, he assumed that he would automatically get a chance to sing in Swami's presence once he became a student. But then, he discovered the gold mine of talent and skill already waiting in the sidelines for a chance to sing in the divine presence. He made up his mind that he would not rest till he got his opportunity. 4 years passed and Sai Krishna was on the verge of despair. But his determination won him divine grace in a very unique and unimaginable manner. This story is sure to inspire each and every one of us to always be resolute in our determination. It also has Swami's own definition of 'determination'.
