Excellent Job! To make the presentation even more well-organized, I suggest associating each concept with a PowerPoint slide ...

Very informative, very clear, very easy to understand videos. I think that those are the best informative vSAN videos I’ve ever seen in the RU-vid. Thank you very much. One little correction for 16:35 if I don’t misunderstand what you said: Actually there is a limit for the number of the SSD/NVMe drives per host, it’s 24 NVMe drives per host maximum as for 8.0 U1 for the time being.

Nice catch.. From what I was told. vSAN ESA does not have disk limits like OSA. The limit is more on the host side of things. Check out config max and look under vSAN.. Drive limits are mentioned for OSA. Hope this helps and have a good one.

very nice video, a couple of comments: - HCI infrastructure are more used today than a couple of years ago, but mostly on large enterprises (DELL VXrail, Vsan Ready nodes) - if you go on the VMware configurator now raid-5 can be done also with 3 hosts. keep on with this kind of videos that elevate the level that is on Internet just made for home labs....

Thanks for the info.. As for the RAID 5, The documents still show that you need 4 fault domains. (Hosts). Now if you have "Force Provisioning" set to yes, it will let you do it with 3 hosts, but you have no protection.. I will do a video discussing force provisioning and go over this. Thanks again for the comment, and have a great day..

I stand corrected. Just noticed that the new ESA vSAN will allow a 2+! Raid 5, therefore only 3 hosts.. I will have to update that. Thanks for bringing that to my attention..

In my work we have spent alot of time defining logical data stores to be associated with 1 and only 1 physical block array and we monitor the health of each LDS and the VMs attached to it so we can find noisy apps/VMs that are choking physical devices. How do we monitor the performance health of disk i/o between VMs read/writes and the physical storage with VSAN when it sounds like all VMs do read/writes through one LDS ?

Great question.. I will do a performance vid for vSAN really soon.. You can still look at the VM's performance and in the individual disk performance which I cover in my Performance series.. Thanks for watching and have a good one.
