Id recommend checking out the jules naudet footage its the only known footage of the first plane hitting the tower and the only known footage also of inside the twin towers (north) on the day. It's about a documentary about thr FDNY but by massive coincidence were on a call and got caught up in it.

I worked in the Woolworth Building, which is visible in a lot of 9/11 footage, until 1997. To this very day, I still have never personally returned to that neighborhood because I don't think that I could handle it emotionally - seeing the Twin Towers gone, I mean. Every night during my dinner break, I would take a walk around that area to get the best possible view of the Twin Towers. The best view of them was walking south along Church Street going towards Chambers Street. The towers looked magnificent with the sun setting behind them. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed with the new single tower that was built on the WTC site.
