I'd like to see another take on a Great Grail War. Go full in on a the concept of a war between two teams, except you never actually get to see one of the teams outside the times the team you're following interacts with them. Minimal character development for that entire side for the entire show so you can focus on the protagonists. Then once the war is over around episode 25, BAM! Back to the start except now you're following the other team. Now for the rest of the series you see things from the other side, weird actions suddenly get contextualized and you find out who they are as people with the caveat that you know they're going to lose. Then maybe throw in some hints that things are going different this time for some reason and show an alternate ending.
An idea which just kinda of popped into my head. In another Fate AU, in this world people are widely aware of magecraft. The geopolitics of the world have been divided into power blocs premised on the common ancestry of certain styles of magecraft and mages openly hold seats of power across the world. In this world, the Holy Grail War becomes a method of conflict resolution between nation-states. Grail Wars are covered by the media, successful Master become celebrities, Servant catalysts are held as strategic resources, and the individual Servants would come from the different history/mythology of each respective power bloc. For the sake of neutrality they'd have to stage the wars in places where no Servant has a locational advantage. I'd imagine the Grails in this case would be less powerful wish-granting devices and more what like they're portrayed in FGO, as crystalized power-sources. It'd be something between Lost Einherjar meets G Gundam, I guess.
Take the servants from the first fate proto type vs the servants from stay night. Have them go head to head like in Apocrypha. However, Skadi is summoned as the ruler. That'd be freaking dope.
that's awesome but be aware a fight between base Gil and Proto-Gil would cause a counter gaurdian to appear to stop that fight the battle alone would cause textures to just poof out of existence

I’d really like another apocrypha type war. I want more undead apostle interaction and having lorelei as a MC would be dope. She mainly only deals with apostle so making them masters would make lorelei intervene and participate in the war. The goal for the apostles could be reaching the root to complete the Aylesbury ritual or awakening the Dark six. You could introduce ciel and the church more as this war involving apostle masters would be up their alley. As for Lorelei servant I always thought van hellsing would be a perfect choice for her since they both specialize in killing vampires and technically he’s not fictional since Dracula does exist so van hellsing would as well.
My dream holy grail war would probably be a greek god for a berserker, a princess from maybe a greek story for a caster, a demigod from Ireland for a lancer (who always dies), a made up guy for an assassin, a king of Britannia for a saber, and maybe even a future version of one of the very masters in the war as a archer! (Ik that sounds impossible but they could probably make it work), and maybe a super secret Mesopotamian god servant that would linger in the background!, though ig that WOOULD be a bit out there and stupid 😅

That's a lot of heavy hitters right there. This Grail War seems to be a prelude to just a straight up war for the entire planet with all the elements you want to include. Arcueid showing up and rocking the boat before getting sicked on by everyone present forcing her into Archetype and facing off against Void then teaming up against invading Types and having to develop intelligent strategies with the rest of the cast to defeat them without destroying the planet. Sounds like a fun idea.
Personally, I’d love to see the Greater Grail War given another shot. The idea of it becoming a battle between factions was really interesting, but one of my biggest issues with Apocrypha was how stacked things were towards the Red Faction. Even with their Berserker and Saber going rogue, they still had a hilarious advantage over Black Faction. Karna and Achilles alone were nigh-impossible to actually hurt, the Hanging Gardens effectively neutralize the territory advantage Vlad has in Wallachia. I think it’d be neat to see a Holy Grail war conducted like an actual war, with Servants on both sides being chosen for their experience in strategy, commanding troops, fortifying defenses, and/or ability to create soldiers via magecraft. Obviously both sides should have one or two heavy hitters as well, but there should be a lot more to it than just “who has the strongest heroes.”
Conducted like an actual war? you mean Saber, taking command of the British Royal armed forces? Or hell even Saber as a servant, leading the whole of the United Kingdom as an actual heroic spirit ruler. She talks so much about being a king and ruling over subjects, yet, where is all that dialogue leading up to?
@@sebastianpost7237 Well, I was thinking more-so different Servants suited for different roles. Artoria (assuming that's the Saber you're referring to) certainly should have experience leading troops and would be a good asset in that regard, but she doesn't have a Noble Phantasm or ability that can create or summon soldiers. For that, you'd need someone like Iskander, Paracelsus or maybe Babbage. Also, I'm not entirely sure what your criticism is supposed to be. Like, do you want Artoria to just stroll up into modern-day Buckingham palace, announce that she's King Arthur and retake control over modern Britain? She ruled Camelot hundreds of years ago. Her reign is long-over and her subjects are dead. Trying to get actual present-day military of the UK involved in a Holy Grail War would be absurd.
Ideally something very similar to Greater Grail War but at a small scale. Something at the scale of a 3v4 or 2v2v3 where the maximum amount of servants around is about 7 to 8. I need a grail war with a female protag and an assassin for her servant . I feel like the main protagonist having an alternative class from the three knight classes. Plus you could have a different strategy perspective seeing as assassins aren’t (Usually: keyword usually) high power high matenance mana wise so things like cheap tactics and morale ideals between master and servant or the FMC and her assassin could be on the same page . I'd love to see a sort of all stars grail war. One where not only servants are summoned but masters too. In my head you get a shirou who's halfway between archer and stay/night but at a cross roads. Someone who's trying to reach avalon to be with artoria while also trying to uphold that ideal of being a hero. So you then present him with this shortcut that if he wins this time he could just wish his way to that goal. So it would combine alot of the story aspects from all 3 stay night routes while also further developing on them. Be nice as well to see Kiritsugu summoned back but with all the memories of his life after his war ended and to see his son now. What he would think how he would feel and knowing that he's responsible for alot of shirou's pain after his death. Set it in London so Weaver too can be a master. Might be interested to see some competitiors from the 2nd holy grail war and a few others from extra. Specifially twice Peacemane as I feel he'd be a good counterfoil for Shirou in this story. As for servants it be cool to see Kiritsugu finally get the assassin he wanted. I feel shirou should be a bit like sigma in strange fake where if the conditions are right he can end up becoming a living servant though this time a true saber. As for twice it might be cool to see him get a new ruler class servant or something and have the system be that the masters aren't intially told what their servants are but are assinged them upon being summoned and they'd each corresponded with their mindset. Hence why kiritsugu gets an assassin and Twice a ruler. As for other servants it be cool to see more anglo and galeic servants given their location but maybe cause of how much stuff from other cultures English muesumes have you could see the likes of chinese, African, South american and eastern european servants join the fray too.
I would wanna see a holy grail war that starts out normally, with servants and mages fighting, that sort of thing. But the come later on, BAM! Suddenly a third party shows up and throws the grail war into chaos by killing the masters, in broad daylight no less, led by this figure that seeks to show the world the horrors of the war an expose magic. You have mo idea why they are doing this, and to show how much of a threat they are, they execute the church official supervising the war on a live stream. The mystery would involve who this new group is, why they are doing this, and if they can be stopped while trying to figure out how they know magic and how they can counter the mages. Basically i wanna see a grail war but the secrecy is stretched to the breaking point with new technology making it harder to hide it, that isnt Strange Fake since i know SF does it.

Have you checked out the fanfic Dueling Zero by D.N.Works? It's an awesome crossover where everyone in Fate/Zero summons a Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monster spirit as a Servant. What would you think of a Grail War where the Servants are replaced by crossover characters?
For an HGW, I'd make a story using Jeanne Ruler and her old Apocrypha game project aspect with a bit of the World War 3 scenario in Fate/Requiem and Gen Urobuchi's Obsolete. Jeanne would be summoned by the Church or UN to enforce a restriction of summoning servants and the proliferation of catalysts. In reality, it was a clever ploy by superpowers to deprive their geopolitical enemies of Servants and they themselves bypass the rules by employing Homunculus Demi-Servants as indoctrinated super soldiers. The second main character, a human master and ex-French Foreign legion veteran turned mercenary would be against the superpowers and initially be at odds with Jeanne for maintaining the status quo. They would be at odds with one another initially due to Jeanne being her mechanical mediator. The merc would criticize Jeanne's "I love all humans equally" part and by the book attitude, commenting how she's a mindless machine incapable of loving anyone or having faith in God because only humans can do that and not mindless automatons following instructions without question. However, Jeanne would start to grow respect for the merc as they demonstrate some exceptional acts of virtue such as bringing peace as a third party instead of trying profit from a war, stopping rebels from taking revenge against their former oppressors out of hatred after becoming victorious etc. She'd eventually snap after seeing the superpowers commit war crimes on a people after she had neutralized the servants they had summoned to protect them and feel responsible for her part in the atrocities. She'd then join the other main character and eventually use La Pucelle in the end to destroy the main antagonist who was using the wars for his schemes and would have won if Jeanne followed the rules set for her. As for the fights, it would be more dynamic and varied with Servants and magecraft incorporated into combined arms warfare and guerrilla tactics with human soldiers along with CIA hit squads of Magi and Demi-Servants trying to hunt the MC and his allies. Fights would be more tactical with a bit of Code Geass and Jojo in the mix than just a noble phantasm dick measuring contest that would need plot armor to resolve. Powerhouse servants will be presented as a huge threat but will be dealt with smart use of asymmetric warfare and some risky moves by some of the characters. For ideological battle (because this is Fate), it would be virtue and faith vs throwing away morality to embrace might is right and cold rational logic as the way of the world. I just want a story that finally does justice to Jeanne as a character.
It would be cool to see more grail wars using the class card system. I always wondered what the Miyuverse would've been if the Ainsworths hadnt activated the black sphere in Fuyuki.
I want a holy grail war focused on the Mages, specifically the dark side of magecraft. We get glimpses into the moral evils of magecraft like through Sakura and the crest worms, but I want to see the logical extremes a person will go to achieve a singular goal.
I want a multi holy grail watch, seven or 14 masters from different reality, in which they will fight for the greater grail in order to save there dying world or rivie there dying world, and the servant they summon is a servant that had made a pack with the counter world as will as had become OP, and they will fight in the body of the dead celestial Chaos, that’s the energy and power that will be use to rivie one of the dying earths, and one of the master or protagonist will be Gaia or a descendent from Gaia who will by the end of the series beceome a new world in which the 14 masters and there dying worlds would be fused together into one mega structure earth

I would love to see the dynamic if Waver summons Alexander (young Iskander). I imagine it would be similar to his relationship with Flat Escardos, but also a role reversal of how Waver was with Iskander. It could also be a good way of Waver coming to terms with his time in the previous war and inspiring Alexander to be more like Iskander (bringing out his potential), like Iskander did all those years ago.
Several ideas: - A war where the Servants all come from a specifice region (Ancient Greece, Rome, Britain, China, etc) just to see the interactions - A war with Divine Spirits only - A war like in Apocrypha except this time they fully embrace the concept of the war between two teams and later members of the victorious side will have to fight each other. - A war where Gil goes all-out. I would love to see more of wholesome fate like 'Today's Menu for the Emiya Family' instead of full on war and killing each other, I still like the action of the fate series but I would like it more if they made more wholesome
For me Judgement Holy Grail. A fuck up mage in the future think that the Root could not be reached at planet earth so he decide to absorb all mana via HG to use it for finding a new planet. It triggers Gaia to destroy Humanity as it is now before that fuck up mage can complete his plan. Alaya decide to fight back. Each side have 7 masters and 7 servants. Alaya side would be normal class. Gaia side would summon extra class

For the ancient side you could have your standard greek heroes and the like and for modern you could have people like: Archer: White death Rider: The red baron Assasin: Zodiac killer You could even include characters from modern literature and film tho that might not work with copyright
A grail war i has in mind: Main thema: thrust and betrayal. Chara (mostly the servants i use in fgo): Lancer+Mc: A high school girl, who is a third generation fire mage. She has high magic and fire power, but has fear to hurt someone with her magic. She is shy and has low self confidence and a weak will. She is mostly following, what her master is saying. Even, when she has to do things, that she didnt like. Her Servant: Fion Mac Cullin. A womenizer, who had allways big troubles with women. Mc's master give her a fragment of him. He is flirting with her and is her complett opposite (activ, self confidente, use water attacks in contrast to her fire). Saber: Lancelot. A loyal swordmen, who lead to the downfall of Arthur, by adultery. He tries now to be again a loyal follower. But has his doubts about his master. Sabers master: A women, who is a mix if Morgan and Tam Lin Tristan. She is self centred and allways trying to obtain more power. Her goal is to be at the peak of all mages. She like it to play with men. And is similary cruel, like Tristan. She is using every methode to reach her goal. Archer: Napoleon. A confidente master, who allways only fall in love one women per summoning. And has a bright personality. Archers master: A military guy, who idolazed napoleon. His goal is it, to make france to a world power under the lead of Napoleon. Rider: Martha, A saint who tamed a dragon. She is a good person, who tries to help others. Riders master: A girl of the "One-sama" type. Even as a mage is she a believer in Christus and want to obtain the grail, to give it the church. She helps mc for most of the time. Assasin: Assasin of pairasu. She tries to controll her blood and is simply following the order of her master. Assasine master: Is the teacher/master of mc. He is a guy, who only want to have fun. But has a cruel side to. He want to obtain the grail simply for fun. And pushed his student into the war, to increase his chance of succes. Caster: Annastasia. Daughter of the romanove, who has a contract with a ice spirit named Viy. She herself is weak. But Viy to the other hand is strong. Casters Master: Kadoc. The only original chara. He has low self confidence and try to prove himself. He had a nice dynamik with Ana in fgo and i would to keep that. Berserker: Vlad the third and main antagonist of my grail war. He was summoned as a berserker, what keeps his vampiric side allways activ. He kills his master instantly, because the master wanted him to be a vampire. His goal is to erease his vampiric side and he is mostly on the way to find new magic ressources. Grail war scenario: Everyone is summoning there servant and the first 2-3 days are small fights. The first who meets are rider and Berserker, where Vlad is fleeing. Because Martha holy power is a hard counter for him. By his withdraw is he hurting the mc, who is than healed by martha or riders master. The next fight would be Lancer vs Saber, who are interupted by Archers bombarding. The first big event is agains caster. Who is starting to freeze the area. The significant victem is Lancelot, who is freezed in ice. Most of the servants need to team up, when Assasin is hurting Kadoc and Anastasia lose controll of Viy. At the end of the battle is caster defeated and Berserker is showing up and take controll over Mc, with a charming spell. He let her use a command spell, so, that Fion has to "kill" himself (keep the Lancer troupe alive^^). He survived, thanks to Martha healing power, but think, that he was betrayed by his master. The next part would be around to free her from Vlads influence. But they has first to deal with archer, whos Master try to use the situation. They later team up with assasine and manage it to free the Mc. But in that process is Martha and her master killed by assasin. Mc's master agreed to help his student first. But saw in Martha a pain, and teamed up with Vlad and Sabers Master. Who is becoming Vlads new master. The final act of the war would be the fight again Berserker. MC and Fion notice, that Lancelot wasnt vanished and try to free him from the ice. Because they think, that his Np is now now needed, to beat the vampire Vlad. With the fire spell from mc are they weakening the ice and Lancelot is able to free himself. He survived, thank his magic ressistence. Lancelot is again, to help them. Because it would mean, that he has to betray his master and has now problems with his moral (similary to camelot). The mc is than able to team up with Archer, who started to obtain a liking to the Mc. The final fights would be be Lancer vs assasine and archer vs saber. While Berserker is maintaining a spell from Sabers master, to obtain enough magical energy from the area for the grail, so, that they need only 6 servants to die. After sabers Master is killed by Vlad himself, is he using the magical energy, to strenght himself and fights the survived Servants himself. He is beaten, after the Mc use her fire spell, to manage a critical hit and allows the servant to make the finishing blow. The grail will than be used, to heal the surrounding, who taked big damage from this grail war. The servant choice fits some thematical term. Whe had 3 servants, who can use light based attacks (Lancelot, Martha, Napoleon). 3 servants, who has problems with women (Lancelot, Fion, Napoleon). 3 servants, who was betrayed or has someone betrayed (Lancelot, who betrayed Arthur, Fion, who has practicly betrayed Diamund, Anastasia, who was betrayed by her people). And whe has 3 people, who are summoning or using others (Martha and her dragon, Anastasia and Viy, and Assasin and Orochi). They has allways to deal with trusting and betraying others, by be forced to team up with others. One of the weak points from my grail scenario would be, that the master would be more sidelined, as with probally many others grail wars (the fights would be mostly happens with the servants). And, i can not decide, what servant would win the war. Fion, so, that a lancer is winning? Lancelot, who maybe side with the mc at the end and is a saber. Or, archer, whos thing is it, to let miracle happens.^^

What i had written was only a rough scenario idea. Where the details would be needed (i could see Fion as the last man standing, because the others would maybe be more involved in the fights and would take more damage. Because, even i dont think, that Fion would be the strongest servant from the ones i choiced. That would probally be Lancelot or Vlad. And because of that, is it very likely, that Lancelot would take to much damage).

Something I've always been curious about is how certain objects or locations can become Heroic Spirits, the most obvious being Voyager and Tenochtitlan. What other "inanimate" beings do you think could possibly Servants and/ or what Classes would they qualify for?

Two characters I want to see in a HG are Luvia and Rani. Luvia is a favorite in Fate that never really got to be a master, and we're not counting Strange Fake since she's sharing. And Rani because I want to see how Alas prepares to win this kind of war.
My ideal holy grail war would be seven again seven, all mages and their servants are trapped in a replica of the world but no other humans but animals do exist the fake earth. The big bad is Satan himself, using the holy grail system to collect the souls of the defeated to restore himself, transforming him into a new beast of evil in the process. I would love a 7v7 + ruler from apocrypha, but one side is all of the outer God servants/foreigners vs my fav heroes for each class. Cu alter, king hassan, mordred, karna, zenobia, space Ishtar, and queen of sheba.

Origin : Eternity like Tamamo-no-Mae, Element: Hollow / Imaginary Numbers Together it creates gojo's neutral, blue & red. And purple. Donain expansion becomes Reality marble : With a chant & all that.
I would do original Holy Grail war but add three new types of classes including a faker and Ego as well. I also have a Ruler as well just to make sure it in order but knowing us behind the scene as well.
