1. Most people are so insulated from real hardship that they have NO IDEA just how difficult it would be for them to survive. 2. The chance to vent one's "frustrations" in a target-rich, consequence-free environment is appealing.
Oh god, this post is so me right now - the desire to drop everything and just... walk away. My idea of heaven, pretty much, is an endless summer full of countryside strolls and sitting on the beach. No job, no responsibilities, no rent or bills, just me and the great unknown. But then, how would I survive? Catch and cook squirrels and grow wild vegetables? Shave and wash in a river? Sleep in a tent? I'd be pining for a proper shower, a conventional bed and a takeaway pizza within a week,
So, its not that people want zombie collapse of society. Its that people want Joker collapse of Society. Unfortunately Batman and Army will quickly put Joker collapse to an end, so people dream of a collapse that Batman and Army cant control. Therefore, zombies
I listen to these when I walk and take the bus in the morning, thank you for a huge variety of content and consistent, frequent uploads! I think I'd probably be very bored without them :)
If people want to kind of experience the zombie apocalypse, play Project Zomboid on the Survivalist difficulty. You'll see how annoying trying find food, water, and fuel is. Also you'll die from just fighting 2-3 zombies.
I think people would like the 'no eyes on me' feeling, because no matter where we are or what we do (outside of our home) is usually observed by someone. Eg ; skinnydipping, murder (but then of a zombie so it's "not as bad") theft of merchandise in stores. All without consequences like a speeding ticket for going 130 on the freeway or something
One appeal is that the existing authorities are gone. We get to do all kinds of things we aren't allowed to do. Also, we have the chance of becoming the leader and do all the shit that leaders have done to us. I think about the excitement of exploring uncharted land. If land is completely reshaped, that means every map is useless. Lands are once again uncharted, creating the opportunity to be the next great explorer. What will you put on the map?
I think people most likely come to this type of conclusion because they don't really have anything going on/didn't really go after or try to build up their own lives. I think either that and/or they just don't have any idea how bad it would be.
A world with far less people is one where each individual is more significant. A world where one's own actions have greater significance. A world with more personal meaning in the big picture.
I want to be the only human left on the planet. The incredible freedom I would get is something I have dreamt about since I was 13 years of age. I require no friends, no human companionship, no assistance from others, no audible communication, no dependence on anybody, no acquaintancies. Thus an entire planet without humans, save for myself, would be a dream come true for me.
You want the entire human population to be dead just so you don't have to talk to people. Calling you antisocial would be the understatement of the year.
@@thisyoutubehandleisdumbasfuck What is wanted is the unequivocal freedom that is gained from having nobody else on the planet. Freedom is the most beautiful thing in the cosmos. It is more rewarding than monetary gains, friendship, love, acceptance a social herd, or than materialistic prosperity. With that level of freedom, no companionship is required.
@Indrid Cold My guy, you're not in the right here. You can keep a good balance of hanging out with friends and loved ones while doing the job that you like doing. But obviously you've chosen not to do that because you're too selfish and weren't loved enough as a kid. And if you're going to reply, at least do it in the next hour, and not every half of a day.
I believe it’s because there’s *no rules.* Everything in life has a limitation, a penalty, a control. It also isn’t fair, due to these controls. The person born into a billionaire family will become your boss, all because they were born privileged and you weren’t. But an apocalypse equalizes this. There’s no police to stop you. There’s no poverty, because everyone is poor; and with everyone poor nobody can threaten you indirectly with money. You can live, you can die, and you can kill without penalty. And yes, I know this depends on the “apocalypse” more or less. But my point being, it’s enjoyable to us, because it gives outer life meaning. Ask yourself, why do you survive right now? Now why would you want to survive in an apocalypse?
It's a test of mettle. Would your empathy get you killed? Would your brain get you into a situation that your muscle couldn't get you out of, or the other way around? Would you be prey or predator in a world where man is wolf to man? It's the ever applicable question: would I have what it takes?
