Road to ruins was a good challenge last week! It's definitely fun balancing the different capabilities of your teammates and helping them reach higher peaks than they thought possible.
GTN presenters always on the floor in a heap: fraser Cartwheel heather Fell mark FreeFall james Cunna Mad-A . . . only one to stay upright, so far, until I get a pun!
it's great to see GTN jumping on a TTT! I must have done around 100 and can confirm they are a great time. I am sorry you had to experience it on this course though. This route is brutal.
I love the WTRL TTT events with the Atom Racing Team (ART) - we enter multiple teams in various classes and it's all brilliantly organised. I can't believe that James, Mark and Heather are all classed as Cat C riders....bandits the lot of them ;-)
What is Zwift racing? Zwift racing is where I hang with the lead group the entire race and then we get down to the final 300 meters and I think "yeah you've got this, let's go" and I step up the power and jump out in front and then some rando blows past me with 2 meters left and I somehow get 4th place.
I come from a background of just biking everywhere. The many rides up the steep hill to my home with a heavy backpack full of groceries is a sort of training in itself it seems! I just recently got my Kickr Bike and into Zwift. My average output is 200 watts, with a max 5-second average at 783. I usually put in a burst like that once per ride. Really interesting to see Mark's Zwift numbers! He has a shallower 5-second burst but was at one point able to sustain 500+ wats for over a minute. That's seriously inspiring. Far beyond what I can do for now! The longest I've biked in real life is about 25 miles on a 3-years-old hybrid with grinding, high-resistance features. The cool thing about it is that the better I become at biking, the worse the bike becomes and so the stronger I need to be to go the same distances. After this I'm feeling inspired and looking forward to trying a longer ride on Zwift. Thanks GTN.
