What it’s like being an independent contractor with FedEx delivering packages with a cargo van.
This was the first opportunity I had to utilize my cargo van as a business and create income for myself. This was a dope way to get into the business and start realizing the value I brought and what my worth was in this cargo van business.

I’m a ground driver, have been for 10 years. This is a very rare occurrence. Usually other contractors jump in to use their drivers to do what we call supplemental routes. I’m assuming this was purely because of Covid numbers. The contractors now are pissy because the numbers are way down from the last two years. So this is so rare. I would do a TON of research before thinking this would happen in your service area. And fyi, I as a 45 year old female do at least 130 to 200 non holidays, my max was 270 stops in a decent tight route. It takes about two full years to adjust your body. But 10 years in it’s the simplest job ever. It’s funny to hear a young man sweat over 100 stops. Kinda made me feel like a bad ass, Thanks for that.
@JourneyWithCameron
@JourneyWithCameron Год назад
Yeah it was a seasonal thing. Also this is express not ground. I’m in the Phoenix market though so there are a few companies that have regular contracts with FedEx for overflow and such. But yeah I was just sharing my experience, definitely was overall happy with the money I made with the contract, having my best day at about $1,100. And whenever I was doing 100+ stops, that would take me 10-12 hours sometimes. So it was a lot of work for sure. Plus I’m in Arizona, so imagine doing it in 115+ degree weather. Shit was hot lol but yeah congrats to you for sticking it out and making a good career with it! It was more so a stepping stone for me, but for the right money, I’d do it again.
