"fractal" just means having non-integer Hausdorff dimension. It doesn't necessarily require infinite "recursion" (self similarity), and conversely, there are also sets *with* infinite self similarity that are not fractals. Of course, it does require something akin to "infinite detail", which is probably what you mean. That is to say, a set with non-integer fractal dimension necessarily has measure 0 in the locally Euclidean space in which it is embedded, but necessarily cannot be embedded in a space of 1 fewer dimension by a diffeomorphism. This means that it is in some sense "infinitely thin" everywhere, but "smooth" almost nowhere, in the space in which it is embedded (what might be loosely considered "infinite detail").

Here because of Scuti crashing the game, your video about it being recommended, and then down the rabbit hole i went. Watched the majority of CTWC this year and was in awe of the player talent. I'm from Portland and I'm very sad I'm one year late to that being the CTWC location, but I'm glad there is still a regional and I'll be there to cheer them on. Hoping to see some of the top players there!

I have to still think fractal is the favorite. He is right there with the young kids on talent, and he has experience and consistency on his side. There are so many players who could feasibly win though, it is impossible to predict.
