Since he is describing the power to weight ratio describing how fast a car with less then 600 horse power goes considering it only weighs 1500 lbs then imagine a renault prototype also weighing only 1600 lbs that actually has 800 horse power now imagine that speed. Its somewhat arguable that these cars are kind of more just like heavy 4 wheeled motorcycles then cars but I suppose technically they are more similar to a car then a motorcycle but just for a frame of reference to get an idea about the speed and handling of what they are driving with the power to weight ratio behind it. Unbelievable torque as well if you want to calculate the ratio of 606 lbs per foot of torque of a car weighing 1600 lbs the torque pound per foot is over 1/3 the number of the cars weight. Hard to say exactly how fast that is but its fast. Like i said technically a car but to me more of a 4 wheeled motorcycle when you get into these types of vehicles.

We racing fans know all that. A lot of us clicked on the video because it said he going to drive an F1 car. Then he casually mentioned that they changed the engine and was a measly 10,000rpm, that's why everyone is disappointed.

Not in the Arrows it didn’t. 2001 Ferrari was making ~750bhp, the Asiatech was probably 100bhp down, which is why the Judd V8 in it now would be just fine without stressing a 17 year old chassis.

Noiderate No, the car is like 98% of an actual F1 car, but a mortal like Parker (or any of us) can only drive it at 1/3. Give him 100 more laps to get comfortable and adjust his mind, and it will get closer. Put Hamilton into this car, and he will deliver F1 lap times.

It's not an F1 car. Not according to the FIA rules handbook of the year the chassis is from. Also, if you put a Toyota Starlet engine in a Ferrari Enzo, it is (to my opinion) no longer a Ferrari. The name applies to the full package.

​@@f18murderhornet It does look like the Jaguar Cosworth R2 and the Arrows A22. They do look like the legit chassis although a number of little differences. Could be a basic setup. Could be a test car. Could be a show car. Who knows. I know they won't use proper F1 seating positions, but the whole panel section around the driver doesn't line up. This could be custom to allow punters to get into it though.

They have comparatively little torque, the opposite of a diesel engine...and rely on power generation from their high RPM. The low torque is due to small cylinder volume, short piston head excursion, and high compression. When an engine has low torque, the mass of the car in first gear works provides a massive amount of resistance to the crankshaft. These things are meant to operate above 6000 rpm. i.e. race. When the car starts to move from the pits, if the team push the car it significantly reduces the torque required to get the car moving, and reduces the chance of stalling.
