ezpz I got a 96 as a HS drop-out taking the USN version (100 max) then got my GED the next week. A 96 qualifies for any of the 60 some odd billets (jobs) they offered (nuke too). If you get it; No regular duty section no dumping trashcans.. it's nice.

good data but do check out the Navy's NEC8215. I loved it and they have been doing it much longer than the coasties and while 1000's of miles offshore. My entire class was doing 21 pull-ups and the minimum required is 4 so be careful what you volunteer for. :) We could do 50 one arm push-ups on either side. fafo. We also had to outswim the SEALS on required timed distance. We could use the crawl but most used the same strokes the SEALS had to use (side and breast). I was in the very first Navy SAR class which had non-aircrew 'boat swimmers' in it so I was also in the longest USN SAR class ever convened. All of us early arrivals worked out daily and increased the numbers waiting on the boat swimmers to show up for weeks. When they all arrived; We just started over at 15 count literally yawning at the workout. Dare to care. Graduates can do the 'SEAL burnout' workout with ease. day to day? practice, practice, practice, look good, prep and wait. lol The coasties WILL stay closer to terra firma/shallow water if that is an issue to you.

What if you already have your NREMT before hand? I've heard that as long as you have a national certification then you keep it and use it in the Coast Guard. Would you have to do the 6 week EMT course in California if you already have your NREMT certification?
