Sake is one of the most delicate and prized beverages in the world.
We travel deep into the Japanese countryside in search of one of the rarest varieties of sake (Doburoku), to brew it for ourselves and discover how it tastes.
Doburoku is hard to find, but a rewarding discovery for those that taste it.

NOTIFICATION SQUAD: For those of you that missed my shout out from Dwayne the Rock Johnson a few weeks back, allow me to explain it all over dinner (08:54). Ryotaro certainly outdid himself in this video with too many brilliant quotes to choose from. I think my favourite would be the vague admission, "I'm always higher than others" (06:38). What was your fave Ryotaro moment? And like me, WHAT Japanese word do you fail to pronounce? (I just can't say Cold Brew Coffee in Japanese).

True, but trust me Rakija is many times stronger than sake (depends on type and region of production), and at least for me sake has a lot smoother texture (also depends on the type).

Man, I remember this video being released and really enjoying it, instantly becoming one of my favourite ones. We didn't know what was to come just less than a month after. Watching these videos that were uploaded right before the pandemic hit make me feel something that I can't quite describe. It's a mixture of sadness and happiness, and a bit of longing. Even now that we're almost back to normal, I can't shake off this feeling, and is something that I will probably still remember for years to come.

Another great video, Chris. Your vids are more than a few notches above the run of the mill youtubers in Japan crowd. They are well produced, edited and have a sense of humor only an イギリス人 could provide. Well done! Regarding the occasional hangover brought on by excessive imbibing, may I suggest ウコンの力？My wife and I were made aware of it by our friends in Japan and it works wonders in mitigating the effects of too much alcohol.
