WHAT JUST HAPPENED!? Saitama vs God Garou! This is Unbelievable - One Punch Man Chapter 164 

I have a feeling that this version of Garou is going to send Saitama to the moon again like Boros did or something maybe even to Mars. I really can’t wait for a serious table flip though, it’ll be insane.

I seriously hope that the fight still ends with a little therapy session. I think that would be a great ending to that point with saitama giving wisdom beyond times to garou.

While I do kind of like that the fight is still going and Garou gets this cool form, I actually kinda was looking forward to the talk that they would have had in the original version.

I Love how Saitama is more concerned about Garou's face being gone rather than God basically stepping on earth and consuming Garou

Forget the whole thing about “Vegeta’s attempts to keep up with Goku throughout DBZ to no avail.” I probably would be just as livid as Garou if I found myself becoming stronger and stronger with each passing moment and yet I still couldn’t do anything to even leave a dent on Cape Baldy (let alone hurt or hit him). I suppose then that after so many Ls he’s been handed, it only makes sense that he would accept help from God.

So I’m kind of thinking that Garou will break free from God’s control either by thinking that he doesn’t want to rely on someone else’s power (God) to achieve his goal, or maybe Tario will try to stop him from fighting, and Garou fights God to prevent him from hurting Tario. And then the fight will either end after that, or Garou will have his own awakened form and it will go down a path similar to the fight in the webcomic.

I'm almost certain that this new god garou will make saitama to at least try a little bit harder..which is actually amazing considering how awesome and just out of this world the fights are when saitama is being a little bit serious Can't wait for next chapters

Someone else had a fun theory that the redraws could be god changing reality to manipulate a winning outcome.

I think that Garou will realize that the strength he got was not from Bang but from "God" and he will reject it...after it proves to be insufficient to defeat Saitama. Garou will, in the process, break his own limiter and probably attack "God" upon realization that "God" is actually the one respnsible for the "miseries" of his life. Interesting to see what happens regardless!

i think they would ABSOLUTELLY still have table flip and headbutt with the first version it was just extra steps so that they can fill-in lore. (probably garou becomes pissed off in the middle of it and then GOD proposes an offer, OR GOD just proposes an offer right at the beginning of it.)

I would love to see the same 'sit down' scene happen at the end of the Cosmic Fear Mode fight. That was a really cool part. Garou finally admitting someone can beat him was a big step forward for character development and as cool as all this is I am gonna miss it.

They're suddenly changing course? I don't know how I feel about this. I was really curious how the first version with Saitama and Garou sitting down together was going to go. Personally, I thought that route fit the overall theme of the series better. The journey of Saitama is more about spiritual growth and emotional conflict since physical conflict is a non-issue for him. Not just growth for Saitama but for those around him who are influenced and inspired by this being of infinite strength. Maybe God could still intervene and tempt Garou later but I think the two foes sitting down and having a chat first fit much better.

I feel like this version of Garou would be stronger than Boros. Now, we might see another extent of Saitama's strength. I am liking this redraw more than the original one, although I feel like it will end just like before - them sitting inside the hut while God entity watches.

I know I’m very likely wrong, but I can’t shake the feeling that that line in the webcomic will play a part, where saitama said garou was becoming weaker in his final form, which is monster form in the webcomic, and in parallel his current god form.

I preferred the original version where they're talking in the broken house. It just seems to follow the OPM gag formula I really like.

Damn, I kinda liked how the original chapter went, I hope that after this new fight we can go back to that same kind of situation

One of the reasons I was disapointed by the last version of their fight (before the redraw) was that Garou never got to show his most impressive feat in the webcomic: surviving as serious attack from Saitama. As some of you way remember, Garou in the webcomic did indeed survive a serious headbutt, thus making him the only character in the entire OPM universe to actually survive a serious attack from Saitama.

I really love how you explain the manga in story fashion it really draws attention to detail and not to mention you tell such information in detailed fashion while using picture fashion and you do so with so much passion in the story ☺️.

I'm Kinda Disappointed we wont have an argument leading to Garou flipping the little table at Saitama... and well, Saitama flipping Back.

I'm not sure I like this rewrite. I liked the last version though I did ask myself what could the writer do with Garou if he turned good, it's not as if he could beat god and I don't want him to get benched.

Yea I was really surprised that garou even accepted god gift but I see a lot of potential in this fight and I can’t wait till next chapter👌🏿💯

I can't help but theorize that on the first version of the chapter, the ending where Garou and Saitama were seating down and was about to talk and that the moon was shown was actually God itself. It seeing the ending of the fight dissapointed him and this new version of the chapter is God rewinding time to have the part play out into the fate the he wants.

I can already imagine Saitama enjoying getting brutally attacked by Garrou, then when he gets bored he just uses his final move on him which is the serious punch. Or Saitama's final move may be even deadlier and it might involve some serious attacks. I bet Saitama doesn't even need to go full power to beat garrou god form. Saitama is basically a god himself.

I kind of want this new fight to have the same ending, just so Garou finally gets his chill and Saitama could have the fight of his lifetime.

Im kinda disappointed with the changes but still excited. I just feel like this rewritten ending undoes a lot of the character building garou has gone through. The original ending shows garou getting pissed but eventually giving up to listen. Which doesn't seem to be because he feels defeatin but more out of a disliked respect for Saitama. Saitama defeats garou easily and while by himself. Not really mocking or "bullying" garou as we know he hates the most. And because of this i feel like garou unwillingly respects Saitama for being the hero he didn't think could exist. So reluctantly he decides to listen despite everything in his body telling him to fight. Which shows garous growth and his fight between whether or not he truly wants to be a monster or if all he cares about is the belittling and pain received by those weaker than the ones doing the belittling or making them suffer. The rewritten ending still pretty hype though and it can be argued that garou excepting help from god is a result of his characters journey as well. I think id just prefer to see where the other ending would have lead. Anyway, super duper hyped to see saitama and garou fight more!!

Next chapter is gonna be the greatest chapter in the series and I'm looking forward to see how broken character Garou is

Ok, I change my last comment about Blast vs Saitama. Saitama will 100% fight Blast and his crew 'coz of differences where they'll probably treat Garou as a threat that must be killed while Saitama is going to hold his promise to the kid and save him.

At this point i think Murata is drawing chapters and releasing them for fun, there is no way last chapter was ever gonnan stay without a redraw.

every time we see the moon it all ways manages to seem as if it is gazing on Sitama, one example is in the scene where Garou and Saitama are siting together in the previous chapter and also in the scene where god starts to converse with Garou, it seems that they are alluding that the moon is the all seeing eye of god after Sitama's impact on it in the battle with boros. But this is just my theory

The way Saitama express his surprise which isn't really surprise is crazy like "another costume change" Its like for him its just a new look not a new power

From what we know about previous garou is that he broke his limiter, while Saitama HAS no limiter. There is literally no limit to the strength he can let out or the force he can take in, so I don't expect garou to beat him in a fight of strength. Maybe garou is going to use a power that god has? Like magic or something?

Ok this is by far the greatest enemy saitama has faced so we should see more of his power than usual.

Remember saitama hasn’t been trying. He didn’t wanna kill Garou. My opinion.. So we don’t know saitama true ability. His true strength. Even so if he was to “try” does he want to kill Garou.? I don’t think so even if Garou gets a lot stronger. I don’t think saitama will want to kill him or he won’t try and kill Garou so he’ll have to hold back. And it’s harder to hold back instead of going 100% plus ultra on Garou. Going 100% is easier. I would think.

So was the last version of this chapter a mistake that got printed or was it simply not what the creator ultimately decided to happen? I can see this going one of two ways. 1. God sees Saitama beat Garou with ease, and that scares him. 2. Saitama struggles a tiny bit and finds there's something else out there that's strong, and that thrills him.

People are really wilin’, this recency bias for cosmic garou is absolutely absurd. People are fr saying he’s gonna “hurt saitama”, “he’s gonna give him a hard challenge”, “he’s closing in on Saitama’s power” like wtf is going on? The story has given the audience many misdirects like this before to hype up the villain only for them to get no diffed by Saitama and garou isn’t any different. Why? Because Saitama is invincible by all accounts in the narrative, this has been reiterated so many times it’s crazy. *That* has always been the running gag of this manga. Are people serious rn!? I do not think that this will be the fight Saitama has been waiting for. It will probably take more effort than anything we've seen up to now, but the fight will most likely end the same way it always does. I just hope to see Consecutive Serious Punches.

Idk about you, but i feel like one punch man is on an endless quest to make something that could beat/be a match to Saitama but that never being possible because well it's one punch man, it's in the name. I guess that's the fun part, not technically knowing how powerful the next dude is going to be against Saitama, like "Oooh can he survive a Serious punch?"

I honestly liked how it was before, it had a much needed break between conflicts in the pacing. Also a happier resolution for Garou.

To be honest I actually had a feeling that garou would have gain some godlike powers and with those would fight saitama. Which could inevitably lead to the fight between “god” and saitama.

I can’t wait for Saitama to just straight up say “You’ll never beat me.”

I saw a theory that said god was actually the cause of chapters being rewritten so that it could lead to this very moment. I think thatd be a pretty cool concept for god to actually affect the medium in which we read the story.

after knowing what happened to Homeless king, I don;t like this development, Garou has been a character who rely mostly on himself, unintentionally getting help from others like flashy flash and metal bat , and even create his own fighting style named *god slayer fist" , and now he let this "god" simply fuel all his power?....he lost his determination, for me now he's weaker than before, even Boros slaughtered his own crew just to show his final form, and that power is his own power, ....surprisingly Boros is more determined to kill Saitama with his own power

I think murata intended this from the start when you consider the moon is in the centre of the last ‘fake’ panel with them in the shack. It’s as if this god decided the story wasn’t to their liking and changed it themselves. Raw af

This version is SOOO much better. I loved this iteration of the fight, it being epic as all hell, but it just felt off. I'm glad that we get to see Saitama punch Garou back into a more humanoid form. Hoping that Garou will be set free by the end of the fight and go on to try and fix his mess or maybe even become a hero
