This reminds me of the how photos of Joseph Stalin and his closest associates attending parades and ceremonies were intensely scrutinized as a way to tell what was going on in the secretive Soviet Union. They could compare photos to see who in the group had been removed from a previously published photo.

I would tend to agree. As far as I know, Russia and North Korea has some quid pro quo regarding things Russia is missing, that North Korea has and visa versa. Due to sanctions in the beginning of the war at least.

He doesn't like the statues and a guide stated that the statues were built after their deaths. Everything is so secretive and people are told what to say so I don't know if my above statements are true. "He likes normal life" the guide said 😂.

This must be one of those things that reminds the guides about how much they're lying because there were statues of both his grandfather and father in place while both were very much alive, as well as photos of them everywhere. I suspect it has to do with Jong-Un being conscious of his appearance (weight? cosmetic surgeries?)

If either China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, or Saudi Arabia switched to a British-style constitutional monarchy with parliamentary sovereignty, then the heads of state would only have a ceremonial role. There'd be no pressure to hang on to power for life in order to avoid criminal liability for abuse of power and crimes committed in office.
