ballet boys have this weird superpower where their upper bodies can be tilted at a 45 degree angle and still cleanly land the turn. i have NO CLUE how that works
I thought the same thing. It wasn't just one then either. There were about 2-3 that were off axis and he still landed them. It's absolutely insane how he didn't fall out
Many men’s center of gravity is higher than many women’s due to increased shoulder width and lack of hips. I think there’s science on how higher center of gravity make it easier to stabilize (I ride a motorcycle and higher center of gravity bikes are easier to balance)
@urusaiinu it is the opposite. Men don't have as good of a balance as women because women have a lower center of gravity. That's why women do the balance beam in gymnastics and men don't. There have been studies on this and women always perform better than men on all balancing tests. You'll see it like when a group of men and women walk across a narrow tree log or something. Women will go right across and men will always fall and wobble. It's because women have wider hips which gives us more stability. When the male ballet dancers jump up at an angle, it isn't a balancing maneuver. It's a muscular thing. Men are of course much stronger than women. Women can't jump as high and can't jump at an angle like that because it takes muscle, not balance, to pull yourself back to vertical before landing. Basically, they jump like that to do that feet thing they do and then use their strength to pull themselves back to the center. It is a show of incredible core strength.
..and that kind of support and comradery only comes after spending countless hours in the studio working hard, pushing each other, working through injuries, weaknesses, stress, everything. These kids probably spend more time at the studio working and training then they do anywhere else or with anyone else.
@@marcelastacey890OP seems to be a figure skater and is just mentioning the similarities between his moves and figure skating, and pointing out how the last move would be considered a left handed single Axel, IF he were doing this in ice 😅 He's not a figure skater as far as we know!
@yulana990 thanks that's what I meant! Rereading it now, I can definitely see how it might sound like he does it on ice too! Just comparing my figure skating life to his ballet life is all, he'd be an incredible figure skater if he wanted to be one though!!
Why is no one talking about the claps with Megan and Tessa? That looked sooo fine omg and their bond like they are always supportive. I seriously love this academy 🩵🩷💜
I have recognized a few instructors but say Parker and dancer behind him and others seem to be too mature to be just students. Possibly waiting for offers and/or these classes are also for staying current and at their top performance ability. Wishing them all well! @@JosephineSheesley
Bravo Parker!!Most behind the scenes Ballet channels do not give the male dancers enough air time to showcase the developing talent. More of these, please!👏👏👏👏🙏
wow beautiful control and strength from parker, especially on that turn he recovered and straightened out :0 and that jump from elise was still so cool haha
I don't know how people are polite and quiet when they go to the ballet. I'm here cheering at my computer screen like a crazed football fan at superbowl.Y'all are incredible.
So good!! Love their playfulness with each other. Like siblings but who like each other. 😂 Well done, Parker!! So much power and strength! Beautiful lines! 👏🏻🌸🥰
It is amazing that there are individuals who have the focus, and self discipline. It is truly wonderful to see their commitment, and hard work pay off. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you!
I don't know the ballet terminology for those cross-legged jumps, but I could watch them all day, mesmerising! So powerful and yet so graceful, this young man is brilliant!
Gorgeous jumps! I even enjoy seeing that he is in fact human and gets tired near the end. But he takes so much joy in flying, and we in watching, I hope he sticks with ballet!
Oh my gosh!!!!!! I could watch this 1,000 times and not tire of it! The power!!!!! I love watching male ballet dancers precision and strength, and the grace and agility of the female ballet dancers. Thank you for sharing these. 🙏❤️
Show him the training videos. Also, there's plenty of documentation that both top high school and college football players were once required to take ballet classes as it improved their conditioning and reduced injuries.
Absolutely breathtaking! Such strength and grace. Male ballet dancers are not featured nearly enough in the female dominated world of ballet. Their skill and technique is just so different to a ballerina's but they compliment each other perfectly. I was taken by the two female dancers at the side, just chatting amongst themselves like this extraordinarily beautiful vision was not playing out before them. I am filled with admiration for Parker and all dancers who hone their craft throughout their lives, and by doing so, enrich ours.
