The artist in this one is pretty great. There's a series of Clone Wars ones as well, and I'm not sure if they're by the same artist, but if you look up the video 'Why Most Clone Units Would Hate Having Anakin as Their Commander' you'll find it. Love the art in the thumbnail for that. Saw somebody else posting about the actual *series*, but I just can't seem to find it.
Jerrol Hale The stuff you mentioned had great creative directors. Dave Filoni is involved in every single one of those you mentioned, besides comics I think, along with other great directors. The sequels were written and directed by JJ Abrams (ok) and Rian Johnson (trash).
@@keandregreen5628 Of course, but those are two different divisions. Marvel is owned by Disney, which made a comic based off of a property developed by Lucasfilm. The divisions operate autonomously, and one hand often doesn't know what the other is doing. Disney owns Marvel and Lucasfilm, but it doesn't manage them super-closely. More like, Disney assigns its divisions to do general tasks and assigns people to run them, but doesn't have control over every little tiny thing, including details such as plot or characterization. Disney didn't give us Luke in this condition; that was done in 1980.
@@davidcosloff I would love to see Luke meet Ahsoka, But how and when would it happen. We last saw Ahsoka entering the Sith Temple on Malachor after fighting Vader and then we see her years later meeting with Sabine on Lothal after the Empire's defeat in Episode 6 (Return of the Jedi) to go in search of the missing Ezra Bridger.
He did I don't want to spoil where it is but it's Canon anyways he trained her but she stopped her training after she felt that her son Ben Solo would turn to the dark side someday btw can you read this comment below this ?
@@DrJay-iy8rv I just want to have a name on RU-vid and I put the reasons why in that message and btw I wanted someone to help me with a fan star wars story called the return of Windu where windu survives that fall
@@lukewelch9427 in the film it shows a flashback where he actually trained her but she stops the training because she sees a vision of Ben Solo turning to the dark side
Ezra the OT comics are but the sequel trilogy comics are god awful. They care so little for that series they are literally just stealing fan art and copy pasting it in there comics
Yeah, because if they completely stopped making anything related to the skywalker saga i'm sure everyone would be happy. No offense but i really disliked this comment.
Francesco he’s not saying he hates that there doing more OT stuff but he’s saying that it’s funny how they said there moving away from it and there still doing comics on skywalker stuff. I’m glad there doing it but Disney is being funny
Who else misses Shadows of the Empire? Xizor was a great villain to lead into the events of Return if the Jedi. Luke's life during that story definitely shows his rise to a Jedi Knight.
Kevin Hansen Right here! If it had to do with that story, I made sure I owned it; novel, graphic novel, Nintendo 64 game, toys, even the audiobook performed by Anthony Heald. I loved that story and feel it was the perfect bridge between Episodes V and VI.
I love seeing Luke struggling with himself and juggling the duality of his destiny after being abandoned by Obi-Wan and Yoda. Classic Skywalker trials and tribulations, but it adds so much context that we don’t get in Episodes V and VI. Luke literally goes from confused at the end of Empire, to confident and more or less self assured at the start of Jedi.
He was confident at the End of Empire. Luke was putting the lessons learned from Master Yoda into practice. People tend to forget that Luke was a seasoned commander in the rebellion and the Leader of Rogue Squadron. Him throwing a tantrum like this is conduct unbecoming an officer.
Disney would ruin it somehow. Dashina Rendar, who can’t be bothered with the rebellion because they(pronoun choice) are busy destabilizing any worlds social structure that has clearly defined gender roles. They don’t make sense to Dashina, so they think the galaxy must be fixed to follow their idea of social structure. Star Wars: Shadow Aggression of the Patriarch.
A Luke/ahsoka encounter would be perfect for this comic, it would explain how luke get so wise & powerful in episode 6 and how ahsoka end up in white robe looking for ezra (maybe luke asked her to find force sensitives for his jedi academy)
I've been thinking they should do a Luke Lost Adventures type of thing. TV show, not animated. Sebastian would he great and already works with Disney. Maybe we could get more of Luke being a beast Jedi Master with Lor San Teka looking for Jedi/Sith artifacts and temples. Disney should have started with a Luke and Han movie doing the same before TFA came out. You have Mark and Harrison being older. It could have been great. What a waste...
Me finally being able to watch the pirated version of the Mandalorian after seeing all the Baby Yoda spoilers: I've been waiting a loooooong time for this moment, my Little green friend! Heheheheheheheheh
@@AlexWeberg Disney plus isn't available in my area and I'd still pirate it if it was available in my area. I got Netflix but if it's not there I pirate.
At 1:37 I don't know why or how the artists achieved this, but they somehow managed to invoke a sense of Sadness in Vader. His Helmet makes him expressionless, and I always love it when Legends or Canon achieves that effect.
I think we can all agree that the best Star Wars movie of the decade was "Vader: Episode 1". Happy New year everyone and May the force be with you always.
When Luke says "what am I supposed to be?" I think the crack in the glass is supposed to be a reference to Anakin's scar, since it goes right over his eye in the same place. And it gives the answer to his question (or at least one of them), which is a Sith, without having to say it outright. Kinda neat.
AWESOME brother!!!! Luke is seriously still my hero today. I wished Lucas would have continued Star Wars after The Return of the Jedi way back in the early 80s with another one or two Star Wars movie centered around Luke afterwards. I think it would have made for at least two AWESOME movies that would have taken Star Wars back then into the early 90s and given us an opportunity to be able to look back and have seen Luke in his prime giving all us fans a glimpse as to what Anikin would have been like had he not been half of what his full potential would have been had Kenobi not cut half of his force abilities literally off thus limiting him even as Vader as to what he would or could have truly been. Luke would have been a blast to see in his prime in full JEDI action!!!! Great video man. Do more on Luke if you dont mind and have the time to create some more LUKE SKYWALKER content. I know Darth Vader is more or less the face of Star Wars but to me LUKE SKYWALKER is Star Wars and always will be. Kashton AMobilePointofView
The fact that Luke has very similar emotions in response to the perceived lies of the Jedi is very telling. Luke is not all that different from his father and could very easily have gone down the same dark path that Anakin followed. But Luke made a different choice. He was aware that his anger and frustration could potentially send him down that path, and make him, as Yoda put it, an agent of evil. But Luke made a different choice. He embraced the light and became the instrument of Vader’s redemption. And that is the difference. I’m a teacher, and I have often told my students that anger is a natural human emotion, and I will never tell them that they are wrong for feeling angry. Rather it is what they choose to do with that anger is where right and wrong come into play. Anakin gave into his anger and let it twist and corrupt his mind, while Luke was able to acknowledge what he felt, and make the choice to rise above it.
This comic at the end is truly Luke Skywalker that we should have gotten not the bs one we got in the sequel trilogy. Luke talking about emotions and the potential flaws of the Jedi set up so much story like Luke rebuilding the Jedi order as he sees fit like he does in the EU
Lol, agreed. They should just reboot the sequel trilogy and use Sebastian Stan and other actors and actresses. I`d be 100% okay with them throwing this trilogy away and them starting fresh. The 2nd option is they make a good, original story with Rey now that the trilogy is over.
Seems like Luke got angry often - I don't think they would have trained him if he wasn't their only hope. They made lots of exceptions for him I think. The first one being he was in his twenties when he started training...and they said Anakin was too old to train when he was nine. The second one being that Luke put his friends and (unbeknownst to him) his sister before his training during Empire Strikes Back. Anakin was warned at nine years old when he told the council he missed his mother. Among other things. Don't get me wrong I love Luke - just an observation! Plus Anakin is my favorite character!
I would like to see How Anakin hidden Ahsoka from Palpatine After Luke blows up the Death Star. Is that because Anakin sacrifed himself killing Palpatine and he let Ahsoka to Met Luke and reuniting with Rex
It was pretty good first issue and setting up so cool stuff. I love seeing Luke coming to term with Vader being his father, seeing how Lando will become a General in the Rebellion, nice to see Poe's parents get integrated more and I'm like the intro of Commander Zahra cause she could be a cool villain and the hints to her past dealings with Leia and Palpatine & Vader for some reason giving her a second chance leaves room for cool development. Hopefully as the series goes on we can see Hera, Rex, Zeb and Kallus show up.
I Hope that Ahsoka senses Luke's anger about Vader's identity. Ezra: Did you Hear It? Ahsoka: Yes, Luke Is anger that Obi-Wan and Yoda lied at him (Later.....) Vader: So do you Hear that my son Is anger that Obi-Wan and Yoda lied at him about me?
I honestly really loved this comic. It’s amazing how we finally get an inside into the time period between episodes V and VI. Luke doesn’t have his robot hand yet I noticed too?
I am really hyped of that we finally get information about how Luke became a master and how he got he's green saber. I hope the next part is coming fast.
Maybe Ahsoka told Luke to find a new lightsaber before they will Met After the Battle of Endor while the Skywalker's lightsaber will be at the hand of Ezra to fight against Thrawn at Naboo
What happens with Luke's 2nd display of emotions, is indeed as when Vader finally let it sink in, that he has a son. I'm assuming that is intentional. Luke's 1st display of emotions - my first thought was that it's supposed to validate Rey's emotional display in Rise of Skywalker. It also serves to show visually Luke's strong force potential.
I get chills every time you narrated a comic! :-) You have such a good and calm voice that it is a treat to hear you narrating! :-) Keep up the good work! :-)
Luke completely stopping the tie fighters has me conflicted - on one hand hell yeah it’s cool as fuck , but I feel like it’s too early for that level of strength especially without proper training. But him feeding to the dark side is a very good aspect which definetly adds to his resistance of the dark side
Gonna be honest here. Luke destroying all of the tie fighters was pretty far fetched. He doesn’t seem that powerful yet in 5 and it feels like a Disney Rey moment
Well, it does say that Luke is releasing all of his frustration and confusion, and as we know, the force is pretty powerful when used in anger. But it does look a bit exagerated, I can't deny that.
So Ben & Yoda were either too embarrassed to pick up the Force phone (owch XD) or they thought Luke needed time to process the news... ? Great video. I got this comic and am very excited to read it!! Love your channel.
One thing always botheres me is how Leia is not seeing Lando's point of view. She makes it seem like it was easy for Lando to not betray them, but had he chosen not to, the Empire would had destroyed Cloud City along with all its inhabinants. Lando was simply protecting his people even if his actions were to stab his friends in the back. And here Leia is supposed to be this heroic character who values the lives of others before her own, yet in this comic she does not show that at all.
Also think about it irl. A guy you kinda knew 10 years ago who tricked you in poker and stole your car, arrived at your house with some random people and is wanted by the police. Are risk your entire life as an ambassador for this acquaintance? Sure you kinda liked his dog but would you betray the police for him?
I have been saying for a while now that most of Lukes character development has always happened offscreen in between films. If you look at him in each movie you can tell he gets more mature, more confident in each film.
In Season 2 The Mandalorian, We May get a Lightsaber duel with Luke and Moff Gideon with the Darksaber. But Luke would want Gideon to come with him and Luke would help him. Not give up on him. That’s what my vision of Luke is.
