It wasn’t until my grandmother had picked me up and took me to the local mall, where an import export Japanese video game store called Gamerare had just 3 Copies left & I got one of them and then Got to finally play Christmas Morning 1999!!! Played that game for days until I had enough credits to buy the Saleen SR Widebody
It was the last GT game where you could cheat. Using an Action Replay to bypass the license tests and give you almost limitless money was a must. I had so many memory cards for this game. One for road cars, one for race cars and several for storing replays. The music was awesome too and you got to choose which track you could drive to. Happy days!
Well that's hilarious hahah. I forgot about action replays and GameShark lol. I remember just grinding the same 2 races to sell the car prize of it lol
I don’t understand anybody that would cheat in a game like Gran Turismo?? It’s a racing game with physics that are close enough to real life representation that you can do exactly that which you know how to do in real life in the game and win all the races and gold all the license test! No cheating necessary, Just pure fun
@@turismofoegaming8806 If you could race and win, but weren't precise enough to pass the license tests, the only option was to cheat. It took nothing away from the game and you could play it how you wanted. No other sim had licenses and they were the better for it. I suspect that you can now download saves where the tests are all completed.
@@rogerbowen5753 I just love the challenge of some of those test.. like every GT game all the way up to GT5, had that handful of tests that were so damn difficult the only way you were getting gold was to do it “bat out of hell perfect!” It was pt of the fun, learning how to Gold some of those where The gold time did not seem possible!? I imagine it was like what dark souls players get after beating a strong boss in that game? The sense of reward was great! The AI in Gran Turismo games(unless you were doing some of the time trials that actually had a physical human person set the time for you to race against in development) were ALWAYS waaay to Easy.. The License test Taught you how to Race Better! You actually took your time, and learned how to gold all the test specially the difficult ones, wouldn’t none of your friends beat you that weekend or ever again for that matter!! I really don't think Gran Turismo ever lost it's crown. Even when it wasn't at its best it was still better than the competition. GT Sport sold 9.5mil, is the best looking racing game of it's generation and was so good it became the first ever esport at the Olympics. And it wasn't even the best in the series.
Couldn't agree more. I'm currently revisiting GT 5 on PS3 and I gotta say, I'm having a blast with it. I've been a GT fan since the beginning and this might just be my favorite. Great with the G29 wheel too.
As someone who’s grown up with Forza I was just waiting for the video’s speaker to say FM7 took the crown from GTS. I can’t believe how much praise FM7 got while GTS was shunned by comparison. It’s the most polished racing game of the entire 8th generation.
@@djebz29 Try going for the platinum!!! You ain’t getting it unless you’re playing GT5 w a Decent FFB wheel- GT5 was AMAZING Imho & So was GT6(despite the fact that they pushed the resolution in GT6 therefore making the game have more slow down where as GT 5 ran flawlessly)
@@TheJakeMG Forza motorsport doesn’t even compare to Gran Turismo in terms of anything except for the graphic and the sound.. Forza can’t never get the realism of how a car can pivot between going left and then immediately switching and going right on a race track, Correctly? And they always have this floaty filling in the front end of the car that will cause you to slide sideways and then re-gaining traction it’s just it it’s…. It’s just garbage- Can be a fun game but nowhere near on the level of Gran Turismo-
I have recently been playing Gran Turismo 4 on emulation and I have to say that even in 2022 it’s still is one of the best racing games of all time. I would say it’s a fair assessment of the series that it’s the peak of the series. What disappointed me about 5 was the high percentage of cars that used their model from GT4 and GT PSP.
GT4 is indeed the peak of the series. After 18 years it still looks great even on PS2. The best thing is that even though you´ve completed the game multiple times, there are still many other ways to complete certain championships, races etc. Plus the longevity is timeless.
More than 700 cars from all eras , incredible graphics, City tracks ! , snow and dirt races , best soundtrack , best menu music , that game is legendary
Great video and i played this awhile ago on my Fat PS3 and it was ahead of its time, still holds up well 2021-2022, Great game and i hope GT7 re captures the GT4 feels and style etc. Also me being from Australia had Holdens and FPV etc :)
I've never really tried any of the G.T. games before, but I might want to give it a try. To anyone reading this comment, do you have any recommendations of "the best" G.T. game to try out? Either old or modern games.
I loved all of them, although I admit GT sport was the most fun to race online with a FFB Wheel.. Gran Turismo 1 & 2 on the Ps1 are very fun to go back and check out just how far the Physics came from GT to GT2 & so on!!
Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec was a Revolutionary game at the time of its Release!! It is also the Game that is 1. The Most Easy to get into 2. Just an Overall Great GT Game!! GT4 took it a bit further with physics and therefore some of the Tracks have sections that are More technical than they previously were in GT3! (in other words and example of this is like Midfield Raceway no longer could you go wide open through the S turns that you could go wide open through and GT3.. in Grand Valley Speedway, the same thing for the light S turn Bends, prior to the second hairpin on that Track.. I also believe Gran Turismo has the absolute best Fictional tracks out of any racing game ever- Grand Valley Speedway was always my Favorite followed by Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, Midfield Raceway, Red Rock Valley(GT2 Only), Seattle Circuit, Tahiti Maze, Tahiti Road, the list goes on!! So many Great tracks and it wasn’t until GT2 , that they added Real world Tracks! Big Selling point for GT2 in 1999 and man, That game Sold out Everywhere that had it!! Gran Turismo1-4 are all so much fun!! I loved Gt5 & GT6 also! GT5 was pretty Difficult to GOLD EVERYTHING & Platinum The Game.. GT6 was slightly better, but a Cakewalk in terms of The license test difficulties(they were all easy.. too easy for the hard-core GT fan-) You pretty much can’t go wrong with any Gran Turismo game although I will say the first one was the most arcade like but it was also very very very fun!!
Gt 4 or Sport. The PS3 GT games weren't the best because they weren't 60FPS and the car models had high quality models that were rebuilt for the PS3 but it also used many low quality models from GT4. It was weird to see high quality and low quality models together. The PS1 games were 30fps and are messing many of the features of the newer games. Sony also replaced all the original music with licensed music in the European and American editions for the PS1 games.
Wow, did they really do that? You should report them! I always notice in your video descriptions that taking them without permission would be subject to copyright takedown. Quite crazy how their quality is pretty meh considering the number of subscribers they have. I'll be sure to avoid their content at all times.
The series hasn't been very good in my opinion since GT4 but hopefully GT7 will be better than GT sport and I know it'll never happen but I'd love a GT 4 remaster

Best racing game ever made. Polyphony never struggled with HD? GT4 was playable in HD at 1080i, it was way ahead of its time. I remember having a go of Forza 3 on the Xbox 360, first time I’d seen 1080p graphics but the car models in GT4 were superior as was the photo mode, Forza photo mode was dog shit in comparison. GT4 was a revelation, the most playable, the most beautiful, the most realistic racing game ever made at that point and with the most massive content ever conceived in a racing game, incredible !!!
3 was kind of disappointing that it was "A-Spec", so most "normal" cars were excluded. I actually have more fun in Datsun 510s, Camaros, and Honda Civics than I do in super cars.

Gta4 will always be my favourite out of all the gta games I just got gta7 and I don't want to play it because I don't want to be disappointed like I was in gta5 and gta6 🥺😢
This format is kind a boring, it seems bit uninspired and uninterested. It would be better if you did ' Top XX unique things about Game XX ' It would bring more structure and simplicity.
Have to disagree with the engine sounds. There were several great sounding cars but a lot of them sounded like vacuumes. Nonetheless an easy S tier game. So ahead of its time.
This wasn't really a review....this was you just saying it's a good game over and over for about 8 minutes🙁 without really even talking about the game. No Pro's and cons, just you saying "It's a great game".
The PS1, PS2, Gamecube and original Xbox plus the N64 era of gaming was gold, so many gems of that era and creativity I miss this generation of gaming so I should probably collect more games from that era because they are way better. You gotta be kidding me with how gaming is now, trash is what it is lol. How many stupid 4 hour updates you gonna put in a turd of an unbaked mess of a game? Back in Nam we didn't have that shit we put the game in and played the damn thing and no DLC! Everything was their for 60 bucks that's it, now they want 100 for a full game and you still don't get everything it's ridiculous how modern gaming is and I only have a hand full of new games because of it meanwhile my PS2 collection is way more, all these kids should get into retro games they are way better
Gran Turismo 7 reminds me of 4 which is not a bad thing but now what I would like to see is Gran Turismo in VR mode that would be the ultimate game have a VR a steering wheel gear shift that would be the ultimate Gran Turismo ever as long as it kept the graphics the way they are it would be awesome
I personally think GT 3 to be the zenith of Gran Turismo games. 5 was awful. I loved 6 but the pre race loading times were ridiculous. I'm a Forza Horizon boy now.

What I meant by the comment you are responding to is that Forza motorsport five was more garbage than the games that came before it- FM3 was the closest representation to being able to race in the game had you done so in real life- FM5: Doesn’t matter how much you’ve raised or driven in your life it sucks either way
🤣 Sure buddy. After GT4 everything went downhill. Gt 5 has way less content and gt7 even has less content then gt5 the carrier mode is a joke in both games and gt7 the microtransaction Desaster.
GT4 had some great features but as somebody who played the hell out of GT3 - the drifting physics were totally inaccurate in GT4 - for example if you light up the throttle and the rear wheels are spinning somehow the car(s) no matter which one found some magic rear end grip while spinning and made you understeer kind of post apex - it was really lame.... for this reason i really disliked GT4.
GT3 is a terrible GT game. Recycled tracks in League Mode, only 180 cars, reused music in some ares cough cough arcade mode. GT2 is jut better than GT3, whilst GT4 is the best in the series.
One Hell of A Game? well it my be B - spec as car on this game and tires was sliding of the road thanks to 2 things in this game ((sport tires)( second hand car)) so i never add oil to a new car as it soften the car steering ( i press left and car wants throw it self in to the wall even more so using the analog (new cars no oil added sit stable on the road and do not sliding if you press left 0.05 seconds as role all my car get wings but it still do not do much to help second hand car o do not get me started on gt4 driving missions worsted idea in history thank you
