When it comes to Dynamics, sonu nigam and KK are the best for me currently.

Din dhal jaye is my most favorite song, ever! That song has something that just binds me! And the funny thing is, when you hear the song, you feel like you can also sing it like that. But when you actually try to sing that song, you realize how much difficult it is. That song was sang naturally by Rafi Sahab but that song is so slow. Its freakishly hard to sing that slow, with that much emotion. And I have never seen anyone try to sing that song in Indian Idol or any other show. Cz it's impossible to sing that song. Yes there are few covers I think, and not to disrespect them, they aren’t even 10% closer to what Rafi Sahab did with that song.

Bhai I don't know if you have listened to this song "Tum Bin Jaun Kaha" by both Kishore Da and Rafi saab, but it is simply wonderful and a magical song with the dynamics you have mentioned

There is another singer from bengal who was contemporary for this 4 legends is Shri Hemanta Mukherjee. Even though I am a early 20s child still I like this 5 legends along some other 70s, 80s singers very much.

Ojesh, you can dedicate an episode to some forgotten retro voices, or somewhat underrated ones, like Yeshudas, Manhar Udhas, Yashpal Singh, Shailendra Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Suman Kalyanpur, Sulakshana Pandit, Aroti Mukherjee, Vani Jayram, Hemlata. They deserve a lot more recognition in today's day and age.

According to the songs I have listened till now this is what I feel ...I might be wrong so please correct me Kishore kumar ji -changes vocal texture acc to song and also many different singing techniques like yodelling and sometimes a sad tone and sometimes a happy tone depending on song and many more Udit narayan ji and Kumar sanu ji-same vocal texture but changes the way of expressing it Kk sir- same vocal texture in all songs but sing with different feel Sonu ji- can also change vocal texture sometimes and also use so many harkats and classical techniques to change the feel of a song Arijit Singh - change his vocal texture acc to the song like nasal tone or full chest tone or rough tone or smooth tone Papon-nasal tone in most songs ... beautiful lower range ...perfect for gazals ...he knows his zone Correct me if I'm wrong ....I'm always eager to learn new things .......it's amazing how we can learn about music just by listening to songs without learning classical and can tell apart whether someone sings on pitch or not although we don't know the knowledge about scale and all

There is one song "Akele hain chale aao" which is also a very good example.

You can actually make an entire episode, or rather two, or even three episodes, only exploring Kishore Kumar. He was God-gifted, a true Gandharva, if you know the pauranik reference. "Tera mujh se hai pehle ka naata koi" has two versions. The tempo remains the same. And yet, Kishore Kumar is a completely changed persona from "Main bhi raha tere liye, tu bhi rahi mere liye" in the happy version to "Vaade gaye, baatein gayi.. Jaagi jaagi raatein gayi", in the sad one. Well, there are MULTIPLE more such examples. Try uncovering them some time. Loved your decision to focus on these legends. Who knows, you might just change the life of a Kakkar fan! :D

This is the video I had been waiting for. 9:14 and 10:30 !! I can't think of one singer today who can sing 'akele akele kahan ja rahe ho' and 'toote hue khwabon ne' like Rafi sir, he really connected with character and I think he even changed his style from actor to actor to match. THAT IS PLAYBACK SINGING! We have a lot of amazing singers today but few amazing playback singers who can actually embody the character's emotions. Sidenote: Would recommend everyone to listen to the entire 'Guide' movie album.
