Two great reviewers. However the title is misleading and once you start watching it, the video drifts into being an infomercial. I would rather hear more about the topic which is extremely fascinating and worthy of objective discussion and analysis. Please do an objective video about the principles and nuances of what makes a fine fly rod. In general both you and Kelly make great videos that are very generous and informative for mastering the challenges of fly fishing.
The best rod obviously can only ever individually exist in one's mind. Every rod is different and will bring pros and cons depending on your fishing situation, how you combine it with the line + leader + fly and your personal preferences. The fish at the end of the line makes a rod great!
I agree with you guys , Echo makes great rods . I don’t even know how many rods of different brands I have but it’s a lot, so when Echo came out I went and demoed them and went wow a $350 rod that performs like this is incredible. So I purchased a couple as back ups . Pretty soon they weren’t backups they became go to . I think in the past 20 years the rod technology has gone from a few manufacturers to a lot and when you start looking at Echo , TFO , Edge and a bunch of others they now have the technology to make rods that don’t cost $1,000+ but cast as good or better.I’ve also noticed there warranty is as good as any in the business and in many cases better when it comes to repairing. Instead of months for a repair we’re talking a week . I get it , people get hung up on brands and pricing but when your paying $1,000 + plus for a rod just because of its brand name and you think it’s better because it costs more your missing the boat . Thanks for sharing
Brian says that he sells rods and fishes rods. He knows nothing about designing rods. That’s why he has friends like Kelly, Flip and Blane. Thanks for watching.
