Great session as always, Don. A thought: the reason why they share music royalties amongst the writer, producer, and artist is that their contributions determine to what extent that song will be great. 1) Don has already touched on that a song needs to be well written 2) the song arrangement employed has to bring the song to life and bring out the best in the artist performing it. 3) The artist performing the song needs to be a great fit for the arrangement too whilst keeping the artist authentic, unique and true to their style. All this worked well in Darlene Zschech's version of the song "shout to the Lord", but not so well in many other versions that are out there.
Shout to the Lord is one of my favourite worship songs ever written. My heart fills with joy and love for my God. Thankyou Darlene for writing such a beautiful song. Please dont change the melody. It dont matter if you are an alto or bass, soprano, or tone deaf, sing loud an proud. Rejoice and worship his majesty is what counts..many blessings to all Christian's around the world🙏🏾🙏🏾💗💗
Let every breath, all that I am never cease to worship you Lord. Oooh wow I love you Jesus! Thank you for your presence in my life. The greatness of GOD just left me speechless... Praise praise praise Him always! Amen
I enjoyed Rivers of Joy. Its such a great Album. I would love to see the video for it as advertised in the advert. Looks pleasing. Singing the low dip is not a problem. But the idea of moving up fron the initial 5th to the octave 1 had me chuckle.
I'm Mathurin Ella from Cameroon! I'm very impressed about your way of teaching! It's sure that you've got it from the Lord! I'm also a gospel singer and a song writer! I liked your concert in the Palais des Sports of Yaoundé! My wish is being able to play with you one day on the same stage! You've got it free! And you're giving it free! May God Continue to bless you and your family!!!!
Your version of "Shout to the Lord" on "Rivers of Joy" is my personal favorite version. And that half key change is really nice. Also the chorus repeating with the guitar solo at the end is amazing. Oh, and hello from Romania ^_^
Thank you so much sir for your continuous in serving God by singing... You are so amazing please do more some keyboard tutorial I'm a newbie in playing with it i hope you will read my message I'm from phillipines, and please pray for me 😇 it's a pleasure to message you
Rivers of Joy is the best album I love so much. Even my friends love this album very much. I remember 20 years ago we went for a road trip with my nonChristian friends in my car, they enjoyed all songs in there, and sing along with God is Good All the Time. And I used to specifically buy and give away this album to my friends, even non Christians. They love it. But later I can't give it away as it is no longer selling. :( But I still lend my copy to my friends on and off, and I showed off to them that my Rivers of Joy is autographed by Don Moen 20 years ago in Kuala Lumpur.😂😂😂
+Calvin F Wow! That is awesome. I wish it was still in production as well. I was just in KL not too long ago. I love being there and hope to be back soon.
+DonMoenTV yes! I know! I was there! Enjoyed your song lead so much. Wish you will be back often. I bought along all your albums (almost 20 albums) prepared for you to autograph, but you had a flight to catch and rushed away right after that. Too bad. :).
hmm interesting. The matching of lyrics to the melody (or melody to the lyrics) is a classical practice, "Bel Canto" dating back to the times of G.F. Handel. The Messiah uses this also.
