It's cruise day! We are in Southampton and embarking on a new adventure on Anthem of the Seas, a Quantum Class ship from Royal Caribbean. This classic ship is nine years old, and she's as outstanding as she was on the day she first set sail. In this new cruise vlog series, we'll examine every part of the ship and share our experiences and opinions.
In this first chapter, we're taking you through our embarkation experience. Was it underwhelming?
We bring you our first impressions of our Grand Suite, and the unexpected turns our embarkation day took. Our original plans didn't quite go as expected, and we'll share the intriguing reasons behind it. Plus, we'll take you along for our embarkation evening meal in Coastal Kitchen.

Our least favourite ship in the world--we were on the "Hurricane cruise" 2016 from Biscayne which was a cruise to nowhere after the bam pot Captain sailed us into a Hurricane Bomb and the ship was listing to the side for most of the night and we had to return to NYC. We then we received a free cruise due to the afore mentioned. This was a Med cruise which was simply awful, especially the food offerings which were simply dreadful as well as the service. Sun Deck layout is extremly poor and so so overcrowded on sea days. All in all avoid!!!

It must have been utterly terrifying to be a passenger on that cruise. Since you commented on our video, I have been reading articles published around the time of the incident. There really is no justification for the poor decisions made by the captain. If I had been on the same sailing, I would also have serious reservations about sailing with Royal Caribbean again. I fully understand your position. In our experiences with Royal Caribbean, we have never encountered anything like what you described. Our content is based solely on our personal experiences of cruising, which we love sharing and will continue to do so. Finally, I want to emphasise that I truly empathise with you and am grateful to you for taking the time to watch our video and comment. Ant x

That’s totally fair Mike - and though I won’t “blame the edit” I think in this case there was a lot of good, and some not to good (and a lot more good tbh) - and I was trying to be balanced when I cut the footage. I apologise if it did come across as laboured as this certainly wasn’t my intention! Hopefully in upcoming chapters you’ll see how much we really fell in love with Anthem - Ant x
