What makes Carlos Rodon so good? 

This is coming from a Met fan. I thought his deal would eclipse 200 million. Best Heater in the league right now and looking very much like a guy who is a young 30 coming into his own. If Volpe is the real deal the Yankees will be contenders year in and year out as they have always been despite the doom and gloom the fans have been projecting of late.

Not sure why people are optimistic about Montas though. He was terrible last year and seems to not care at all about winning. Why are people convinced it will be any different next year?

I'm going to be very skeptical about him in the Bronx with the injury history, the high ERA, etc. If he works out, great, but right now, it is a wait and see type deal.

Apparently all the people saying he sucks in the comments have never bothered to watch him pitch. And this video was also correct in saying how bad the Giants defense was last year...watching their games it was almost laughable at times how bad they were. Even with that horrible defense and offense he still managed to win 14 games and put up a 2.88 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. As bad as the Yankees were last year offensively (not counting Judge) they were still far better then that Giant team and they rate in the top 1/3 in defense. As for the contract, 162 is a bargin these days with starters getting 35-40 per year. Yankees fans need to worry about the offense, not the pitching. That being said Cole should probably by demoted to the 3rd spot, while his overall numbers look good, he gives up far too many homers and just some seriously bone head pitch sequences at times. Lets all hope Sevy can finally stay healthy long enough to reclaim the ace role, Nasty Nestor in the 2, Rodon 3rd, Cole 4th and figure out who is 5th.

Question, he's had two good season, so do Yankee fans or fans in general think it's enough consistency wo warrant the contract and do y'all think he's shown enough for us not to worry that he will have downward trends?

No, I didn't click because I am excited. I clicked to correct that "he's so good," should be why he WAS so good for 2 of the previoius 5 or so seasons. I plan to take as much money as a I can off the people who are "excited" enough to bet he is going to think Rodon's next 6 seasons will look like has last 2. FWIW, Chris Bassitt at 3 x $21 is a better deal for any team that is Rodon at 6 x $27.

As a Giant fan and huge follower of baseball, I never felt he would stay in San Francisco. With that said, I also never felt he would last or ever be durable. He seems to be high effort and it wasn't sustainable. I wonder if the Giants were ever seriously considering bringing him back and giving him a huge contract. I highly doubt it.

Guys I'm a huge yankee fan and I hope om wrong but look at his stats he's 30 and has had 2 good seasons , he is not an ace or even a number 2( on a top team) he's a good solid 3. Plus how many people have we seen who are good come to the yankees and not live up to the hype. Let's just not get overly excited just yet
