Nutella Dinosaur it's pretty good, but the designs are just god awful. Why did they turn dimetro into a strawberry shortcake and charchar into a walking squash?!
First game, "wow! This is really cool! I hope the more or them!" Second game, "holy shit! This is even better than the first one!" Third game, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NINTENDO?!!?"
I compare the FF series to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon one. The first game is good, the second game is amazing, and the third is a shitshow with half the available battlers to play with and a shitty story. Lol
I played the third one and while I liked the story and the driving around the dig site mechanic, I certainly didn't like the new battle mechanics. I understand it was for 'teamwork' inside the game but I had been really excited about being able to command three Vivosaurs that belonged to me; not someone else with just one of them being mine.
Fossil Fighters is a fantastic gem of a series with a great story, characters, romance and a unique battle style I hope it comes back and similar to the first one and champions!
From my knowledge, Champions did a fantastic job with it's cameos. It seems that Champions was Fossil Fighters in it's prime state. What I'd love to see is a new game with the same story of the first game with all the mechanics from Champions and the vivosaurs as well.
The original maybe hasnt aged that well, but Champions was honestly one of the DS's best games. Improved everything the first introduced, and the story wasnt half bad after you consider how silly it is. I'd really like a remake of Champions for the 3DS, improve the visuals, change some of the writing, and add Online battling, and you got yourself a hit.
Roberto del Fuego Nah the first was better. The cell-shade graphics have aged MUCH better than the more realistic (for a dinosaur game on the DS) graphics. The battle system is also much better. In Champions, sleep and confusion skills break the game, and many vivisaurs, like Compso, who had niches because of their support effects, were nerfed into the ground and turned completely useless. I also preferred the starry of the first game because it never took itself seriously and knew exactly what it was. I mean, you save your girlfriend, who has been turned to stone from a teleporter malfunction, by rapidly shaking your hips to tribal music. If there was one thing that was better in the sequel it’s the characters.
I personally think Champions is better. Graphics are about on par between the two, although I personally prefer how Champions was framed, and the battle system itself is much more interesting and intricate. Sleep and confusion are both too good in games where options are restricted too much, but both had problems in the original, too, and Compso still does have a niche, it's just not one strong enough to break the game in half. He's more targetable, sure, and now there's actual counterplay to it, but it's impossible to say that he's actually really bad in Champions when no meta really developed around the game.
JungleB I TOTALLY feel you!! I thought I was the only one that knew this game existed, lol. 😂😂 when I was cleaning through some stuff and found the original Fossil Fighters game, I literally burst into tears🤣😅
A shame the nintendo wifi for old gens is cut. You could have gotten neat fossils in either DS game, such as the dino aliens from the first game to play in Champions. Still a fun game.
yeam me too but then i realized that im missing two dinos that are excusively at one area that you can only go once at soooo i need to get the fist game
I remember first seeing the commercial for Fossil Fighters. Oh man i really wanted that game. Sure, the story is silly, but it's nice. I didn't even know the second came out till a friend mentioned it, then got a copy for me. It kept most of the same things from the first game. Animations got a bit better and more detailed, more vivosaurs added, as well as an amazing new combat system, making strategy even more important. Then the third came along. Due to it being for the 3DS, it didn't utilize all the amazing things the first two did for the touch screen. You clean, and work out menus/fossilary/look at moves... But Fossil Fighters did basically everything on the lower screen, and Frontier does barely anything with the lower screen. Hell, even battling really sucks, different kind of strategy is needed, but all you really need is a high attack vivosaur like Pyro Yutie or T-Rex Sue. I would highly recommend Fossil Fighters and Fossil Fighters Champions.
Dreddick123 the third is harder than the first times actually if u wanna have a challenge that's the game to go to also it has some of the best music I've ever heard
Definitely spend some money on the first one. It's not as good as Champions, but it's pretty close. The battle system isn't as difficult, though. Frontier is fine on its own, but doesn't live up to its predecessors thanks to some glaring flaws.
I’m currently replaying the sequel, Champions. I remember years ago when the first game came out, I introduced it to my cousin because we were giant dinosaur nerds, and we absolutely fell in love with it. We battled all the time, shown off our rare Vivosaurs that we didn’t have. Replaying both of the games has been a nostalgic powerhouse. Although I haven’t touched the third one, and a lot say I’m better off for it, this series will always be one of my favorites on the DS!
I found this game loose for about 5 dollars on a local Market! And I just finished the main story and I'm impressed I bet that you won't guess the end, because it's plot twist after plot twist. There is no way to guess it, even the most absurd things or things that feel like conveniences have a place in the end... it's a really smart Script... Not groundbreaking but has personality! I'm sure it will catch you out of guard
@@Goatix1954 I know... I was surprised and I had joy during my playthrough unfortunately the Post game is kind of boring but you get the Dinorian if you find all the fossils
Gameplays fine but unfortunately due to the super realism of the 3rd game, lack of wacky characters and story, really kind of made it lose its charm unfortunately.
Honestly one of the best day games on just get in general. My favorite part was spending a long time trying to get that one piece to fully upgraded your vivisaur. As well as the sound track. All in all I really miss this game and Wis more like it would be made.
My brother and I used to love this franchise! My personal favorite game is Fossil Fighters Champions since it's the game I put the most hours into as a kid. I found it really fun to explore the dig sites and the battles were fun too. I hope this series gets a game on the Switch. Great video!
Fossil fighters was my favorite game when i was young, I mean come on, it had cool gameplay, dinosaurs and even a dinosaur waifu. I mean come on you have to admit duna is the og best girl and is probably the only reason why the timer on my save file is maxed. As you can probably tell i had a very strange childhood.
I love the first and second fossil fighter games I wasn’t such a big fan of the 3rd one tho I did enjoy little nibbles and I’m glad Nintendo didn’t forgot about him I’m glad I was able to see him as a spirit in smash ultimate
I loved this game when I was a kid, I just recently made a video on it and I might just have to play through the game again because of it. Quality video my dude!
This was the best thing I have ever seen in my life! It would be cool to do the other 2 games for video ideas. Fossil Fighters Champions is the best of the series.
I love the first two games and i recently found a small youtuber who is doing a lets play of it so i am glad people are still playing them by the way if you want to know the youtuber is (gaming with mim)
Omg... I don't know when or how I got this, but at some point I ended up with this game when I was young... I loved this game! All of a sudden I really want to come back to it, now that I'm much older and know what strategy is.
Answering the question in the Thumbnail: maybe because Nintendo made a mistake in releasing everywhere, excluding Europe? 5 months and I am still waiting for answers
Man I rember seeing fossil fighters just comeing out and it was around Xmas so for that year I wanted a ds with fossil fighters that was my first gameing devise and first game I wanted. I loved that game so much that I played it twice cause my little bro deleated my save data and each time was just as memorable as before. I've always been into dinosaurs and phreostoric life so this was right up my ally. A few years later it was my bday and one of my presents was fossil fighters champions well me at the time didn't know about the sequel so it came as a total shock to me and man it was one of the best suprizes I eve had. Now take fossil fighters clean up the graphics a bit, flesh out the models better, add a new fun battle system that is better than the first, then add new vivosaurs and I mean alot of new ones out and boom ya have what I concider the best game in the franchise. Champions took the original and enhanced it 100% the story well not as crazy as the first held up really good and fit the story they were telling and the use of cut sceans specially ones like the start whare ya run from the allosaurs and summoning your chosen vivosaur that was cool a bit like Pokemon but the idea was true to how the franchise does it in the first ya were given spinax and couldent chose but could eventually get all of them so just got 1 early. But ya anyways champions took it up a step even with some free dlc to get the first games legendarys but is their gona be a sequel to add more vivosaurs and more ideas to make?! NO! See they did make a 3rd and I was hyped as all for it so I rember as soon as It came out I got it. But something wasent right with it....ow ya ... THEY CHANGED LITTERLY EVERYTHING!!!!!! Like how can you even call this a sequel when even the vivosaurs them selphs look diffrent from the 2 previous game so no1 wrong their, make their main focus cars and less about fossils and battles no2, no3 the battles everything simplyanything and everything get rid of it bring back champions heck bring back the original version just not that ,and 4 the story stunk it was all over the place and it was highly a disappointment ya cool we went back in time but that's it other than that I forget it. But ya I can say on and on what happened but what did happen was I thing frontier madw the franchise extinct cause of that game their hasent been a 4th out wich stinks but what can you do. But ya that's fossil fighters my most favorite game ever and it was good while it lasted I just hope 1 day we can revive this franchise and give it's proper sequel this time till then I'm happy with champions.
Hot take: Fossil fighters is better than pokemon. The gameplay is just more fun, its more strategic in the battling system, and I always enjoyed the fossil digging and cleaning system. The plot isn't the best thing I've ever seen, but neither is pokemon's, and I personally really enjoyed the journey you go on throughout both the original and champions. The only thing that I felt still was to be desired is the graphics, but I don't think that should hold back the quality of this game. Additionally, I love the game's sense of humor. This gme is so much more than a "Pokemon knockoff", and the only real similarities between them is the idea of using fantastical creatures with elemental mechanics to fight each other in a turn-based rpg setting. The executions are ENTIRELY different.
Now that im here i should start a campaign since this is my childhood so who would like nintendo to make a remake of the original game....... I just realized not a lot of people would
Sadly, I wasn't able to find the first game, though I did pick up the sequel, Champions. The difference was $10 instead of $3, so it had better be worth it! I suspect it will, though, since I absolutely adore Sphere mining in Pokemon DPP.
