Sorry. But Galileo proved that mass does not attract mass. Mass is not an actionable force. Gravity is flat earth science. Its the force that keeps objects from floating away on a stationary plane. The earth is rotating around its axis as it orbits the sun. When you throw a ball into the air, you are accelerating it. The air molecules are the forces acting on it, causing the ball to decelerate. A balloon rises because it has less mass than the surrounding air and requires less force to accelerate it. Your basketball? You are calculating its acceleration/deceleration trajectory. Gravity is the mass resisting acceleration. If you punch the ball, you dent it. If you slowly bring it up to speed, the molecules accelerate in unison.

It seems there are a few misunderstandings about physics and the concept of gravity in your post. Let’s clarify some of these points: Gravity and Mass Attraction: Galileo didn’t prove that "mass does not attract mass." In fact, Galileo’s experiments helped establish that, in a vacuum, objects fall at the same rate regardless of their mass, which supports the concept of gravitational acceleration being constant near Earth's surface. The idea that mass attracts mass is central to Newton's law of universal gravitation, which states that every mass exerts an attractive force on every other mass. This has been repeatedly confirmed through experiments and observations, such as the Cavendish experiment, which measured the gravitational force between two masses in the late 18th century. Gravity and the Flat Earth Theory: Gravity is not related to flat Earth theory. The scientific consensus, supported by centuries of observations and experiments, is that Earth is an oblate spheroid, meaning it's mostly spherical but slightly flattened at the poles. Gravity is the force that pulls objects toward the center of the Earth, giving us weight and preventing objects from floating away. Earth’s Rotation and Orbit: You’re correct that Earth rotates on its axis and orbits the Sun, which is part of the heliocentric model accepted by modern science. However, gravity plays a crucial role here. Gravity is the force that keeps planets in orbit around the Sun and governs the motion of celestial bodies. If there were no gravity, Earth would not orbit the Sun but instead move in a straight line out into space. Air Resistance and Objects in Motion: When you throw a ball into the air, it does indeed decelerate due to air resistance and gravity. Gravity constantly pulls it back towards the Earth, while air resistance opposes its upward motion. A balloon rises because the buoyant force (due to the displacement of heavier air) is greater than the gravitational force pulling it down. This isn’t because of the absence of gravity but due to the differences in density between the balloon and the surrounding air. Misconceptions about Gravity and Acceleration: Gravity is a force that causes objects to accelerate toward the center of the Earth at 9.8 m/s². This is why objects fall back to Earth when thrown upwards. Your example of the basketball demonstrates momentum and kinetic energy, but gravity is still the force acting on the ball as it moves upwards and then pulls it back down. In conclusion, gravity is a fundamental force of nature, extensively studied and confirmed through empirical evidence. It’s important to understand these concepts based on scientific principles that have been rigorously tested and validated over time.
