you shoudn't feel that way. Most of these studies are very biased, for example 6:04 they rated Hrithik Roshan as having a more ideal jaw than Michael Fassbender 🤣 then they gave the winning Jaw angle to a kpop artist 🤣 Think its pretty safe to assume that this study was probably done in Asia,or the participants are biased towards Asian culture.
I used really dislike my mother nagging me for certain things when I was a child She always scolded me for breathing with my mouth, slouching, not having a proper gait etc. But at 20 watching these videos and knowing more about human aesthetics I am so thankful to her now.
in asian it’s common that parents tell their kids to massage the nose especially the bones upward to make it pointed. and I regret not following my mother (not sure if doing it really helps tho. cause genetics still play a really big role
@@truereligionfiend738 I never got the notification for this comment for some reason. But to answer your question, yeah! I mean my face grew conventionally how it's supposed to because I didn't breathe with my mouth and I do get compliments quite often so I guess I am pretty, to answer your question. As for my posture, it's not the worst but definitely needs more work because my breasts are big so my shoulders start aching and my gait is normal so yeah. Gait and posture can be fixed anytime but the mouth breathing is what really matters in facial growth.
@@tine2835 ahhh my mom never did that but she used to apply paste made out a type of flour on my face because being women being hairy is hereditary in my family.
Mewing is literal bullshit. I have perfect tongue posture and always have, never been a mouth breather yet I still have a deep overbite and a underdeveloped jaw. I’ve had two orthodontists recommend jaw surgery that’s how severe it is. It’s ALL GENETICS.
Moon Maiden Ah yes, amazing argument right there random person on the internet, your experience is obviously superior to all the data people have collected about the importance of proper tongue posture. jesus fucking christ lmfao

You need fat soluble vitamin d3 vitamin k2 vitamin A (retinol) proper calcium ... for your bone structure and development. All found in meat fish dairy and eggs only. Dont fall for the vegan bs people.
Some people may feel depressed after watching these videos, but I get excited. For me, turning something into a science is the first step in making improvements in that area. Thank you for your work.
literally the only way to “improve” your jaw is to get a surgery that costs thousands of dollars. this kind of thing doesn’t do anything but make people feel worse about things they cannot control.
What is interesting for me is that I somehow feel better after watching these videos. I know I am dead ugly but I use the ambiguity of where I fall and always choose the better end and say that I belong to that category.

This is why mewing is very important. The earlier the better. When I was 21 years old a friend criticized the way I breathed and he said I should breath using my nose. Little did I know that when I started breathing through my nose, I also started mewing which in the end shaped my jawline. I'm so forever thankful to this friend of mine.
@OneAndOnly Fiqri You can't really "make up" away a jaw problem. Contouring with makeup only helps create an illusion when people can't see you from all angles (works on screen, not in real life). I've got a slightly recessed chin, U-shaped face and have a fibro osseous anomaly in my chin and jaw bone. Make up really doesn't help in those cases. I'll be going to a jaw surgeon in the end of March. That's the only solution for it.
Great video! As a dentist, you hit the major points of jaw development. It not always about attractiveness, but overall quality of life. Glad you're making a second video to further explain it. Breathing issues, tongue posture, and diet definitely have a direct correlation to jaw development, occlusion, TMJ issues, sleep apnea, and why our jaws don't have enough space for the wisdom teeth anymore.
i had really bad teeth and now that my teeth are aligned after having braces, how come my jaw looks recessed still, although I don't know if it's due to my lips or my chin actually being weak
Thank you! Now I know why granny used to always make us keep our mouths closed! She would say “close your mouth before something flies in it” (I still say this to my children 😹) and the whole time she was concerned about our jaw development! Lol
I dont think jaw surgery is popular in the west. I mean, many people have strong jaws, especially if they are on the thinner side. My whole family has a well defined jaw and we don't exactly have money for jaw surgery. Who is to say that many celebrities aren't born with jaws like that as well?
Do you have any evidence for this claim? As someone else said, jaw surgery isn't popular in the West and a lot of these models have been models since they were young teenagers so it's highly unlikely that they've had work done.
@ٰ ٰ people don't realise how much weight can obscure your face. Fat models all have one thing in common: they were lucky that none of the fat went to their face which is why they're still considered beautiful. Your average fat person however isn't lucky and does have fat on their face.
You don’t necessarily have to get jaw surgery. A lot of these celebrities get filler on certain part of their jaw to enhance that area. But the only thing is that they have to constantly keep getting it every 6 months since it’s not permanent
This video made me feel so much better! My tongue naturally rests on the top of my mouth so growing up my face developed in a way which made my jaw defined. But I used to be insecure about it because of how broad my face got compared to when i was younger, I was honestly scared of looking too manly/masculine.
Me either, i am 24 and comparing to my younger, i had more slim face and when i grow older, idk why my jawline is more defined and makes my face a little broad than before. Is that totally normal?
I can attest to this. I have a recessive chin and an overbite, and i find it hard to keep my mouth closed at times. I'm trying to work on that by mewing and make sure, that i nose breath instead of mouth breathing. I have an okay face though, but it could be a lot better than this. For sure.
Those dental issues are real, or was discussed with me when I was being braced at 28. At 28! I've learned that eating too softly or too hard or crunchy leads to detrimental issues on your teeth, jaw and even the relationship of the bones and joints from your head down to your shoulder. So yes, I went to get a teeth checkup, came out having to correct my biting, teeth alignment and even posture. My migraines were lesser. So please, get yourself a good dentist.
ewoud, I doubt you are ugly...beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so if you're not being facetious, take heart. Attractiveness has so much more to do with inner beauty and kindness or things like the ability to make others laugh :D.....btw, QOVES, is it possible to have the aforementioned eyes, jawline, etc and not have "good health"? As some of us have that situation...Thanks, this is informative but raises a lot of questions...:)
I literally cannot breathe through my nose because I have lots of nasal issues. I have breathed through my mouth my entire life and now know that this is why my jaw is not definited. Thank you for making these videos. They give me the closure I need for this ugly face😂
By Mewing you can fix it a bit and if you eat harder foods that can help too. Not because a lot will change but if you decide to make a surgery you should have the good habits.
tempo setter don’t you know you can’t talk about how beautiful you are, it makes uglier people feel insecure, you have to be “humble” and pretend like you don’t know what your face looks like.
@@temposetter1091 It's good that you're confident, but it has nothing to do with this comment, and it just sounds like you're just bragging to a person who is insecure about their jaw that you're so handsome, which is inappropriate. You could've just made the comment under the video, not as a reply to another comment
Yay!! I now feel a bit more confident about my prominent jawline. I always thought it was considered unattractive on women and I hated how it made my face shape more square rather than round and feminine.
😢😢😢 i was feeling don't like it too. N now i extracted my 4 premolar teeth in hope to get better feminine look. But it ended up sunken face. I'm so regret it
@@Myworlddd111 don’t worry I’m sure you’re still a beautiful person. It sounds cliche but I assure you that a lot of people will love you for who you are🩷
I always got made fun of for having a defined jaw as a younger girl, but I never had dental problems and dentists always complimented how big and beautiful my teeth are. As I grew older I realized that this physical feature is desirable on both genders and you age better.
Celebrities like Rihanna, Angelina Jolie, Adriana Lima, Irina Shayk have huge foreheads and they're gorgeous. Meanwhile other celebs like Emma Watson, Zendaya, Ariana Grande have small foreheads and they're gorgeous too. The jawline alone can make or break you but good features can balance the forehead size.
I mouthbreathed most of my childhood due to an injury that obstructed my sinuses (got it fixed finally as an adult) but luckily didn't end up with a recessed jawline. Maybe my jaw would have been more prominent if I hadn't been injured but I still think its pretty damn good considering the examples you showed lol.
The thing is, you gotta be young enough to get significant growth, anyone can get some type of growth/improvement from mewing, but it is much more effective on teenagers and even more effective on kids, for they are naturally growing and their bones have more malleability. It's worth a shot though even if you're over 20.
Mewing prevents having recessed Jaw also give high cheeckbones but some facial features like the models have are genetical, eyebrows, eyelashes, eye color, big eyes, nose type, separated ears
Depends on age, i’d agree with you if we were talking about 20+ year olds since their bones are already way too developed, but mewing while a kid or teen will definitely give you big results.
interesting to see these videos cause many will argue that beauty is subjective when in fact, its kinda not lol many people get offended by beauty standards, but sadly or not, they will forever exist
• maya • 16 is definitely not too late!!! Look up Astro Sky on youtube, he also started when he was 16. Though please make sure your entire tongue is touching the roof of your mouth, i was mewing wrong for like 3 months without knowing it lmfao
iciicle omg thanks! I checked out a lot of his videos and it’s explained so well! I guess I’ve been doing it wrong for the past 2 months because when I push the back of my tongue up I can’t breathe really well. But I guess the more I practice the easier it’ll get?
• maya • Something that helped me get the correct tongue posture was doing a chin tuck, it’s basically just pushing your chin backwards while looking forward, what this does is make it so that you have an easier time getting the root of the tongue against the roof of your mouth. Astro also did a video on this and i highly suggest watching it. Try making a ‘EEE’ or ‘NG’ sound, you’ll notice that your whole tongue is against the roof of your mouth, this is basically the position you always want to hold when mewing. I never experienced breathing issues myself, but i know that the more you mew the easier it will get. I always had to remind myself to mew, but now it just kinda happens naturally.
iciicle thanks for taking the time to help so much, I really appreciate it. hopefully this works, only time will tell. And I found that the chin tucks help me mew and breathe easier, also doing the NG helped. Thanks again 🙂
Ger Unkwon pretty much. He’s smart tho, he’s appealing to the normie NPC masses. Slowly throwing out black pills after another. I hope he doesn’t get into the race pill or it’ll be OVER.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on plus size models or otherwise plus size women who society still labels as attractive. I see a lot of images of plus size women who fall into that catagory, and then compare with plus size women who do not... And I think I've narrowed it down to really one defining factor and that is in fact the jaw line. If she has a defined jaw with no double chin, she will be considered "beautiful" or "hot" in our society (models for example). It almost doesn't matter at all what the rest of her body looks like or how big she is. As long as her face/ jawline is bony. Idk... Just something I've noticed lately and this video shed a bit of light on it.
I love that you always provide us with sources as they are interesting to read through, although, as many people seem to find, I am being proven to be scientifically ugly.
I've got a decent jaw, but not square, it's more the "pretty boy" jawline he mentions near the end. With that said, I'm attracted to women with square jaws. I do think alot of the sexual dimorphism he talks about can also come down to opposites attracting. A lot of people are attracted to features they perceive as not having themselves, so when mixing biologically with partners that fill these gaps, that's where I think the offspring end up coming out enhanced, because they're taking the best of what both parents have to offer and combining them. Two good looking people rarely ever have good looking children, you should do a video on that next.
You neglected to talk about how muscle changes the jaw. After getting botox in my jaw my face went from square to oval, so it wasn't the bone it was from from grinding my teeth, I'm actually shocked at how much it changed when I stopped grinding.
Totally agree with diet linking with dental structure. I bought a book on traditional diets for ethnic minorities, primarily focusing on native Americans and there was a study with pictures demonstrating how western diets may possibly led to overbites and mangled teeth.
Swear I knew my husband was attractive with his light almond eyes, average nose, and strong masculine jaw... but now that I know it's a fact, everyone better just back tf off
i've come a damn long way from having a recessed jaw and fast forward after 10 years of braces (yea that long) I can finally say I'm satisfied with my jawline and this video even makes me feel good about myself
Yellow Card Chimchim braces really help that much? I sucked my thumb from pretty much birth until I was 9. Big overbite and receding jaw issues. Also jesus christ u have definitely come a long way, congratulations!
@@maya-hx7xf yea! i used to have a really bad malocclusion, like there's a more than half a cm gap between my upper and lower jaw, and i practically had no chin, the dentist took out 4 of my premolar teeth (1 from each side to make room for my other teeth) and then things went from there! There is a reason we all look different. There is a reason there is someone out there who is attracted to you for the way you ARE and not according to any scientific standard. Believe in the perfection of you exactly the way you ARE.
Jaw don’t just represent “genetic health”. Jaw growth and alignment is very much influenced by the kinds of foods the person eats, how they breath and use their jaws during childhood and adolescence. As well as by trauma to the face, causing asymmetries and tmj.

Quick example, eye make up is amplified and materials for the mask on the ladies are 'cute'. Je suis la femme!
Interesting video. Quick point i'd like to make though, jaw correction surgery can be highly invasive and people do it mainly for existing health reasons like pain.
I wish these videos had been around when I was a teenager. I would have discovered that I was not as ugly as I thought I was. Actually, I think maybe it could have worked either way. I was so hard on myself.
Now these videos are what I subscribed for 😘 thanks for the hard work you put in! More people need to hear about this. Wish there were more holistically minded dentists ;/
I am a female and my jawline has always been well structured but more leaning towards a masculine shape. After watching this video i appreciate it a lot more instead of thinking it was too manly! Do you think there is a correlation between teeth grinding and jaw shape? I know it can increase the size of the masseter muscle and so giving it a wider appearance to the face but i wonder if it actually changes your bone structure too
If that was true, every person would have the same amount of success when dating but we know that a small portion of both males and females attract the majority of people. Stop with the feel good fairy tales
Let me tell y'all My face shape has changed so much since I breathe from my nose, keep my mouth shut, and place my tongue on the roof of my mouth, I have never been super conscious about it, I decided to start doing this and at the beginning it wasn't easy but now is normal fir me! I just decided to do it because my face was super recessed, and wanted to try this, now I breathe better, and it has only been a year or so, you will only be aware of it for a month, then you get used to it
Ugh I have TMJ. Braces never fixed it, but they did help. I was told Im a 'tongue thruster" due to sucking my thumb as a child up to my early teens, and my Dr (ENT/Plastic Surgeon) said it caused all this. I have the same lisp Drew Barrymore has. As I get older it's less obvious, until I talk, but Ive majorly worked on the tongue thrusting issue and I think it helped a LOT! Although my teeth dont line up fully and touch in the back, but bc I have bigger lips, you cant even tell.
I come from South Africa, here we have super tough food like biltong and droëwors. We are also big bbqers and we eat meat most of the time. It’s hard to find someone with a weak jaw here, even those not gifted in looks.
