What makes this place in Cambodia so special? 

I am a Kenyan in US and even in my country, we live as a community the way Cambodians do. It surprised me that in US, you are on your own. I love this village life. Simple, peaceful and coexistence lifestyle in nature.

I’m a first generation that was born in the U.S my grandparents use to put a lot of Khmer movies for me to watch to learn our Khmer language, I remember there was a Khmer movie base on this legend. One of my favorites to watched when I was younger. Thank you for sharing this video of our mother land this is exactly how I pictured it when I would hear stories from my mom who was born in Battambong.

That main road to Pailin used to be one of the worst roads in Cambodia. I used to drive it a few times a week. It could take up to 6 or 7 hours to drive from Battambang to Pailin in the rainy season. Sometimes the bridges would be falling apart and it could take an hour to get over one of the old bailey bridges. There was a section that would flood and tractors would take bikes on a trailer through the flooded section. I was in a Ford Ranger and could make it through the water. Back then you would see taxi passengers riding on the hood of the truck taxis,,,,I kid you not. I think it was cheaper than the roof or riding in the drivers lap (which was also standard practice). I haven't been up that way in years. Great to see it.
