For the most part, our happiness is tied to our faith in God. Almost all sorts of natural calamities visit us often and in the face of those, no amount of money can save you, only God.

This is an example of ignorance is bliss. Stupid people are happy, and you dont get more stupid than believing in one of the more than 2,000 gods that people have invented to subdue the poor and stupid of the world.

Is that income earned inside the Philippines not abroad? If I am based abroad my salary bracket is rich but if I work in the Philippines I'll be in low income to middle class

@@WatchCaliforniaExpat I like the way you broke down the people's income level in the Philippines, to give everyone an idea where they rank in the socio-economic structure of the country. No one, foreigners nor locals, has ever explained it that way before and it's quite refreshing and enlightening to know it.

According to your calculations, I am pretty rich! My wife and I own around USD1M in property, both commercial and residential. We don't have a mortgage on any of the properties, because we own them outright. We have an income of around PP100,000 pcm. My advice? Come here with cash and with someone you trust.

@@WatchCaliforniaExpat I'm not a 'rich kid' because I started with nothing and through hard work I earned my cash, so maybe don't attempt to disparage what I have achieved by using the disrespectful moniker "rich kid'.

Not necessarily. A country can have a large poor population and small middle and rich classes. Or small poor class, small middle class and large rich population. Or any combination thereof.

I hear the poor thing all the time here and I see it too. But the mall will be 1/2 full mid day mid week. By mid day all the fast food places will have waiting lines to order so they’re not just walking around. Weekends malls are just crazy busy. Where do they get the money to do this? If you stand on a busy street and count the number of 2 million + php vehicles that pass by in 15min you will be amazed. It just doesn’t add up?
@dextershaman7154
@dextershaman7154 2 месяца назад
Fastfood and food court inside mall are cheaper than standard restaurant. Majority Filipino oeople can really afford even low income status. You can see malls are healthy due to filipino people patronage and become a culture . Mall is a really big thing in the phils.treat family members and even friends.

Philippine standards of living has been low for so long that the locals are used to their low standards of life. In reality, they can achieve and have more but the lack of discipline, unity, education, and opportunities….along with overpopulation issue and lack of family control, this country will lag behind all ASEAN nations. Vietnam is already ahead…..case closed!
