4:11 Honestly thought I was the only one feeling the way you felt about medicine as a 3rd year. I have also had quite a few epiphanies in these past few weeks and really felt that I wasn't cut out for medicine and I might regret this decision. I guess it's comforting to hear that there are students who go through this! I really enjoyed this video and that last part about working as a junior doctor, makes me feel more assured that this is a journey I should continue on and see where it takes me.
Thanks for leaving a comment! I’m glad you found this video helpful 😊 in my experience the reality of working as a junior doctor is quite different to being a med student (for the better) and I’m working on a video about this atm!
you talked about what I was thinking of as a fresh graduate doctor who had spent all past years sceptical and confused about what to do after med school, leaving medicine or a part-time job or even going into GP training? (although I must pass UK's plab exams first as an IMG doctor). I think I'll give it a last try as a junior doctor. keep going. I find your videos insightful.
Is getting into dermatology harder? I mean into the ACD training program. Also, is dermatology is in demand or there is shortage of workforce in Australia? What your view?
Well for a large part of the year, I would probably say 3 hours or less per week, but now ramping up to my OSCEs, a fair few more but still much less than in 4th year. This has massively reduced compared to previous years.
