I want to try stuff like that like the dry fish from Nasi Lemak. My mom sent me some root vegetables recently from where I’m from and they are so good. I can make pastas and fritters with them. I ate them steamed yesterday and it is so good. edit: Also some traditional candies from where I’m from. Any good food makes me feel at home though. I really think fresh baked goods are where it’s at. The smell of breads and buns are home for me anywhere.

my parents never stayed home often (they were always at work), so it was always my grandma taking care of me. when it was their day off though, we would go to fancy restaurants with my cousins.

Danggit (Dang-git) are the crunchy small fishes. Though that size served is too smal, almost like dried dilis. Our danggit in the Philippines is bigger than that.

I do not think I can eat vinegar like that. I'd usually option for lemon/lime because the smell of vinegar is too strong.
@snflwrchan8019
@snflwrchan8019 Год назад
There's different kinds of vinegar and they all have different smells and tastes. The one we like to pair with dried fish is called sukang tuba. It's made from coconut. It's richer, tastes less acidic, and has weaker smell compared to commercial vinegar. There's also cane vinegar made from sugar canes. It's lighter and a little bit sweeter and fragrant.
